American Savings Bank - Waipahu

Banking in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. My aunty has her checking and savings accounts at American Savings Bank. We have been calling every month to transfer money from her savings to her checking. I thought that it was strange that her accounts were only in her name. I asked if she wanted one or both of her sons on her accounts... to be safe... in case she goes into the hospital again... She agreed. I parked in the shared parking lot at Waipahu Town Center. Located right next to Longs Drugs Store, American Savings Bank has two Automated Teller Machines outside for after hour transactions. They close at 5pm on Mondays through Thursdays; 6pm on Fridays; and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Inside the spacious, clean environment, there were two visible tellers. Another customer was waiting for the 3rd teller who was in the back. I grabbed an office chair from the office on the end so aunty could sit down while she waited for her turn. A teller finally was free to help us, but she couldn't do everything that we requested. The Assistant Vice President, Jill, came to our aid. We followed her to her office and laid out some documents. Jill did as much as she could. We will keep in touch and finish this transaction tomorrow. Thank you! Note: checks are $28.50 per box - hopefully, this fee can be waived!

Putting in the dough…read more.. My services are quite basic today so it was more of the convenience with lots of free parking right in front of the building and they had four tellers as well which none are in training so it was a great start. This Waipahu location is nice sharing lot with Don Quijote among other tenants as well it didn't take very long to get my banking done in comparison to town location which was nice as I already was running behind on my errands. Thank you!

Banking in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. First Hawaiian Bank collaborated with four Small Local Businesses and gave away large prizes to Hawaii residents on Instagram. Wow! I happened to be a lucky winner for the gift certificate to Sakura Restaurant in Mililani. Yay! Thank you! Via Instagram messaging, the Social Media Team of First Hawaiian Bank contacted me to complete some forms. I told them that I don't have a printer and asked if I could go to a branch to sign the forms. I chose the Waipahu location of First Hawaiian Bank because Honolulu locations are kind of busy, don't have free parking, and probably don't have as much time to chat. I was right! Located next to "The Rail" station at Don Quijote, First Hawaiian Bank in Waipahu had many open, free parking spaces! They're on the same street at McDonald's and the US Post Office. Outside, I noticed the convenient Automatic Teller Machine. Inside, there was no line at 10am! I appreciated the air conditioning, spacious interior, and bright environment! The teller was very nice. She called the worker who had the information. I signed the forms while having a pleasant conversation! Thank you very much for the great experience and for helping our community!

I've drove by Central Pacific Bank's Pearl City Branch hundreds of times but never made a stop…read moreuntil today when I needed to use the ATM. I don't know of any other CPB that has a drive-thru ATM/Night Depository. Long and short. Have had my accounts at CPB from when it was originally City Bank. Small local Hawaii bank that merged over 15 years ago, that's how long I've stayed loyal to my bank! I've memorized my checking, routing, customer service line, and seen changes throughout the years. Those days when I need to walk into a branch, I always get great customer service from the tellers, call center reps, and other departments bank-wide. Downtown Honolulu is home to the Corporate HQ's and Main Branch. Like any business or industry, when one area isn't profitable as another area, you'd either downsize, consolidate, or expand where there are new opportunities. Unfortunately, few branches were closed permanently, for example in-store branches at Times Supermarket and Don Quijote. If I was a brand new customer shopping around for a bank, this new Shaka account would be a perfect introductory! They give you $100, you get your direct deposit/paycheck 2 days in advance, and you get refunded $20/month on ATM fees!
