Dr. Usleman is wonderful! He was warm and friendly and made sure that I was well taken care of. My prescription hadn't changed but he still walked me through the overall health of my eyes and what to look out for now that I'm pregnant. Who knew that your eyes can change with all these hormones? I didn't wait at all. You can download the new patient forms on their website to speed things up, as well. I have been very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Mastores at Central Phoenix Eye Care. She is the one who helped me figure out why my eyes were so itchy after having to switch to disposable contact lenses. I apparently was having a reaction to the silicon in all the various disposable contact lenses I had tried. I had resorted to wearing my glasses most of the time because I couldn't go a whole day without wanting to start rubbing my eyes by early afternoon. After switching me to a non-silicon lens, I am back to wearing my contacts comfortably all day and into the evening. I would highly recommend her! Dr. Uselman is so laid back and honest in trying to help me see the best I can (another eye doctor I went to in AZ was awful and just wanted me in and out). Everyone here was super friendly and helpful! I can't comment on price very well because this is the first optometrist I've been to since moving to the US but it seemed reasonable to me. I have to say that they did not seem salesy to me at all, as some other people experienced. In fact, when I asked advice about switching contact lenses to a different brand someone had recommended to me, I was advised against it as what I have is better anyway, and it'd save me money on having to update my contacts prescription when I don't need it and it's not covered by my insurance. I brought my daughter in for an eye exam. Dr Kantor was very thorough and the office staff were all very friendly. I ended up making an appointment for myself. I saw Dr Frank. He took the time to help me understand the exam and what was going on with my vision. He was also very thorough. I had a lot of questions and he patiently spent his time explaining all the answers. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they have the most up to date equipment and since they don't work on commission, you don't get expensive eye glasses pushed on you. I wear progressive lenses, and the best part is that I love, love , love my new lenses. By far the most accurate prescription I have had, and I have worn progressives for several years. read more

I have so many positive things to say about this practice, I don't know where to start! First, as a first-time contact lens wearer, it took so many lens trials to get my prescription right. Perhaps upwards of 8 or 10 over the course of 4 - 5 months! At each visit, Dr. Mastores greeted me in her friendly manner and assured me that this is normal, determined to help find the perfect Rx. We finally got it and I couldn't be happier. It needs to be mentioned that Dr. Mastores never charged me for these followup lens trial visits, and each time my Rx changed, I was able to return the unused contacts and receive credit for contacts in the correct Rx. The staff is completely professional and never treated me like a nuisance, even though I felt like I was! I am a doctor myself and have never been to such a friendly and relaxed doctor. Dr. Mastores clearly loves what she does and it is such a pleasure to be treated by her. She is the kind of person you want to hang out with all day. Second, in the meantime, my glasses Rx changed! The practice has an amazing policy for refractive changes and I was able to get my lenses corrected without any fuss. Incredible. Third, they have an annual sale where designer frames are 50% off! That's right, even Ray Bans! I love, love love their frame selection and their opticians are so friendly and knowledgeable, no matter whom you speak with. Finally, and this is embarrassing, I scratched my eye on New Years eve and didn't know what to do. I called the after hours line and Dr. Frank called me back immediately. He was incredibly reassuring and helpful, and stated that if my symptoms didn't improve in 12 hours, he would meet me at the office on New Years Day. It ended up being nothing, but just being able to reach someone so quickly on a holiday was outstanding. So, in case it's not obvious, this is the best optometry practice to go to in Phoenix.
