I asked them to get in touch with the insurance, and get their facts straight. They did, but they never called me back. When I called them back, they said they were trying to "fix their system, with my insurance", and spoke of fax machines, and a lot of other excuse making, none of it amounting to an apology for getting things wrong, and overcharging me. I had to tell them that they owe me a refund, and they said that they'd get to it when they fix their system. All of this while talking to me as though it's making them tired - complete disdain for the customer. People make mistakes - that's allowed. But when it's brought to their attention, and they sullenly, only reluctantly fix things, and only when badgered to do so - that combination of incompetence and surly ambivalence toward you, the customer - that's why I advise you to go somewhere else. --- I've updated them to three stars. I don't think it's right to hold a business accountable for a one time thing forever, so it's only fair to update - we eventually, after an inordinate delay, got my son's vision wear. I can in just after 6 pm just as they were closing. I have never been there before but she not only installed the nose pads but adjusted the frames straight and tightened down the screws cleaned them and put them in a clear plastic case to protect them. Unfortunately, my experience with a pair I purchased from Cowtown Boots in Tempe, Arizona, in February of twenty twenty-four has been nothing short of disappointing. I was on a business trip to Arizona and decided to pick up a nice pair of boots while I was there. I had been wearing Ariats at the time, but I wanted something different and knew Cowtown made their own brand of boots. While I hadn't necessarily heard great things about them, I was familiar with the name and figured they'd be a good choice. Nine months later, I'm regretting that decision. The soles now have multiple holes, and the heel flaps are coming off. For context, I live on twenty acres in Montana, but I don't do heavy ranch work--these boots are worn for everyday use. Typically, I get about two of solid wear out of a pair before needing repairs. Seeing these fall apart after less than a year of light use is shocking. I reached out to the store where I purchased them, and they referred me to corporate. When I called corporate, I was essentially told there's nothing they can do--no warranty, no acknowledgment of the premature wear, and no offer to make it right. They did offer to re-sole them, but only if I paid out of pocket. I understand no one can guarantee how long a product will last, but to hear "that's just the way it is" after explaining my long history with boots and reasonable expectations was frustrating. It's clear Cowtown Boots isn't standing by its products or its customers. I'm writing this not to vent, but to call attention to what seems like a drop in quality and customer care. For a company with such a strong reputation in the Western wear community, I expected much better. I hope they take this feedback seriously and reconsider how they handle these situations. Until then, I can't recommend these boots--or the company--to anyone who expects reliability and customer support to match the price tag.
