You might as well add me to the menagerie of 1 star reviews for Central Transport. This trucking company is HORRIBLE. I was supposed to get my delivery 3 days ago ... At least that is what I was told by the CT staff. I have consistently called them everyday, asking when my shipment will be delivered. Today, I was told that it is loaded for delivery but has not left the terminal yet to be delivered! REALLY?? I was told yesterday that they would definitely be delivering it today between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon, so I made a point out of my very busy day to be here to accept the delivery. I just got off the phone with them (AGAIN!) at 2:00 PM. This time the customer service person told me that they couldn't reach the terminal that was supposed to deliver, and that she would send them an email to reschedule. I asked if I could just drive to the terminal and pick up my shipment, but I was told that I would "have to get Harbor Freight's approval first, because they paid us to deliver it." (Okay. They paid you to deliver it, but are you doing what you are paid to do?) The bottom line ... this company is obviously inept, dishonest, and sits beneath the worst of the worst trucking companies! A "1 star" review is way too generous. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HOLDING OUR PRODUCT HOSTAGE AND WILL NOT DELIVER. WE ARE LOSING BUSINESS BECAUSE OF THEM GIVING US THE RUN AROUND. Sooooo, that is exactly what happened. Another trucking company went to Central Transport to get our freight so they could truck it to us and Central Transport, after saying "no problem", REFUSED TO RELEASE THE FREIGHT. Honestly, how these people remain in business and have kept from being assassinated is beyond me. My 80 year old mom is in charge of our Holiday orders and because of Central Transport we have NOTHING to put the orders in. She has been in tears for days. Shame on them. We lost an extreme amount of business over a shipment that they completely lost kept getting the same lame excuses and had to wait a couple weeks to put a in a claim we had to put another order in with the vendor which most of the product was out of stock so we had to wait 2 more weeks for shipment and the carrier we used for that shipment had it to us the next day, We have been waiting for over 3 months for payment of the lost goods as well as the freight we were charged and paid to Central Transport for the shipment and still have not received payment. NEVER A WORSE TRUCKING COMPANY EVER! I deal with truck-lines everyday and in 40+ years I have never been treated like Central has treated us. 1 example - A 4 day shipment took 10 days. In 3 phone calls to try and track the shipment, we were left on hold for a total of 47 minutes. When the DAMAGED shipment finally showed up, the driver said we could not talk to him for 30 minutes because he was on break. Also, when we tried to inspect the shipment the driver just drove away. When we hooked up with the sales rep., he said he would get back to us and after 2 days, we still had not heard from him. This is not our first run-in with Central Transport. I had given them several chances and they damaged or delayed 90% of the shipments. I only gave them 1 star, because this site will not allow you to go lower read more

Horrible experience!! I ordered from Harbor Freight and they hired Central Trucking to deliver my item. Central Trucking set an appointment with me to deliver didn't show up, didn't call. I had to call them to find out why they didn't show, they rescheduled the appointment saying it they didn't receive the package in time. Next scheduled appointment they failed to show again. Mind you someone had to be there to accept the package which means time off of work to be there. When I called them again they said they don't guarantee delivery times, then why do you make appointments and have to have someone there? We will see if my package ever gets delivered as they've now rescheduled again. Horrible experience I will never use them to ship anything with my company. read more

Central Transport WILL NOT pay for damages they cause to your shipment. I had a $3000 custom manufactured roll cage delivered with CT. 2 minutes after they left, I noticed MAJOR damage that was hidden upon receipt. Mind you, this cage had taken a month to manufacture, and in 3 days of shipping, they damaged welds and messed up the powdercoat paint job. The cage is strong, and the tubing they damaged was non-critical structure only to hold aluminum door skins on. 3 months of claims reviews, and they say that they caused no damage, but are going to be gracious and reimburse me $300. The cage had to be delivered back to the manufacturer to have the damaged tubing replaced, rewelded, and repainted. If I could give them a ZERO STARS, I would. Yep, I ordered my cage back in January. It's the middle of May, and I still don't have my roll cage now because of them. read more

I received a shipment from another company for a couple 90's Ford doors, the doors when shipped were in pristine condition. When received the doors were not strapped on the pallet, half of the pallet was missing, doors were unusable. The package with shipping costed $400, Central Transport only refunded $15 to the shipper. The shipper paid me back for the whole package. If that is how this business is run, I will never use them again. read more

I had a delivery scheduled for Friday between 9am and 3pm, so I took the day off work. 3:30 rolls around with not a peep, so I call them. Turns out they "didn't have a liftgate truck available" and didn't notify me of this in the morning because they "don't have an outbound call center". Now my shipment is in limbo, since they want to schedule another delivery but they can't promise it will be delivered, and I can't just take off work at will. Avoid them at all costs. This is the worst trucking company ever! We shipped 2 pallets that was to be a 3 day delivery that ended up taking 14 days! This held up back orders for my customers and my warehouse wanted to charge extra to pull from 1st pallet delivered and then have to turn around & do it again when(if) the 2nd one arrived. 1st time we called, they said "It will deliver tomorrow" only to find out that 1 pallet did deliver but the other pallet was in another state! Said they didn't have enough room on the truck for 2 pallets...then why didn't you just put 1 pallet that was alone on the truck instead of splitting up a shipment?! DUMB! Every call after that was nothing but a run around. "It will deliver tomorrow, it will deliver Wed, it will deliver Friday. If you call them you might as well plan on staying on hold forever! Finally that Friday morning it was at the distribution center but they said they didn't have anyone working the dock and it was still on the truck and wouldn't get unloaded unless someone worked Saturday! Needless to say they only had 1/2 a$$ when I got done speaking with them....but they didn't act like they cared, didn't try to offer a way to fix it, offer to help in any way. It was finally delivered on the 14th day but you can guarantee that we won't ever use them again!! I cannot fathom how disorganized and non-customer orientated a business can be. They have hurt my family business multiple times by leaving our chemicals with a shelf life at a terminal for months an didn't have the courtesy to let us know, leaving us with very angry customers. They destroyed a shipment and when we called it took months to finally get the ball rolling on getting the shipment back to us. They even wanted us to pay! Not to mention you'd be on hold for probably forty or so minutes everyday until you get everything situated. I am disgusted with their service. Horrible company from start to end. Being in business for 26 years, I thought it would be a breeze to set up an account; I indicated to expedite the process as we had a D&B number. I got assigned an anti-sales rep who dragged me on for 1 week in the end to tell me some lame excuse. I stated there are plenty of shippers anxious to take our money since they were not. Back in April 2020 I shipped an expensive aircraft canopy from Hermon Maine to Duncan South Carolina for some minor repair using Central Transport to transport it down to Duncan S.C. to be picked up at their Terminal. The container was constructed out of 1/2 inch plywood with 2 by 3 inch framing and the canopy was firmly secured to the container floor so that it wouldn't move inside the box. Somewhere between Hermon Maine and Duncan S.C. Somebody put one fork from a fork truck through the end panel of the box putting a large gash in the plexiglass bubble of the canopy another inch towards the center of the box would have completely destroyed a 7000.00 dollar canopy. The person doing the repair picked up the canopy in Duncan of course nobody had any Idea how or when the damage occurred. He took photos of both the canopy and the container. He told me it was repairable and gave me a very reasonable price quote For the damage done. I filed a claim with Central Transport and submitted all the paperwork and photos they requested along with the repair quote of 120.00 dollars. I had to communicate entirely by e-mail as no one would accept my phone calls.They made it very clear that they had 120 days to respond to the claim after 120 days and a few irritating e-mails I e-mailed them that by the end of August I wanted either a reason why what should have been a no brainer claim was denied or a check for 120.00 dollars. A week before the end of August I received a e-mail stating that my check was in the mail and two days later I received another e-mail stating that they had sent the check to the wrong party and it would take another 3 to 4 weeks straighten out. I immediately contacted the Better Business Buearu in Missouri and told them my story. Three days later I received a check from Central Transport. This has been an extremely irritating and frustrating experience for me from the damage done to the stalling tactics they employed. I am nearly 72 years old and I have never Contacted the BBB on any other business before but I thought that by laying this experience out as concisely as possible I might prevent someone else from going through the aggravation I've gone through this last four months. If I could give a zero star, Central Transport and Home Depot deserve them. Simply ordered floor tile. Home Depot order was to be delivered by Central Transport on 11/26/18. Didn't show up. Received a call that day that it would be delivered 11/27/18. Didn't show up. No call. Sent an email using 29minutesorless@centraltransport.com. What a joke that was. Received an email that the shipment was delayed and that I would be contacted by the scheduling department. No call from the scheduling department. Contacted the very useless customer service teams at both Home Depot and Central Transport. Two hours into the call both yesterday and today produced zero results other than a pathetic flippant customer service rep at Central Transport indicating that I could receive it as late as 2019. Never use this company and seriously think about ordering something from Home Depot. Home Depot should really be ashamed at their lack of service and ability to deliver product to a customer especially considering the option available in getting product delivered. This has got to be the worse company I have every had the misfortune of having to deal with. I tried to get a shipment from California to Utah I went on google and Central came up with a price of $165 I then went to the website and plugged in my dimensions and weight it gave me the same price then I called customer service to schedule the pickup of my printer which was need that Thursday as I had a tech that was going to install it for me she gave me the same price so I scheduled it she then told me to go on the website and fill out a BOL for the driver at pickup so I did that and sent it to the seller. Everything seemed smooth until the pickup then I get an email saying neither me or the seller had an account so they needed prepayment which was not a problem I understand that I called a really nice lady that took my credit card after talking for a few minutes she said oh on the charge is $362.00 I told her that is not correct and she looked up the class someone had changed it and she had no way of changing it. She told me she would look into then Monday morning she sends an email and asked if I filled out the dispute online how I would know that blows my mind even more why they would have to have that online shows they have this problem on a constant basis. I filled out the form and uploaded the dimensions and picture of the printer they hit submit it didn't tell me it never submitted only this morning I get an email from the rep asking if I had a chance to submit it I called and she said I needed a pro number which again I had no idea I had one now I have to wait again I have clients I need to take care of that printer is very important and I am losing business each day I would suggest using another carrier cheaper is not always the best as I have already spent an extra $250 for a tech that came out and never had a machine to setup. read more

I am with a business in South Bend, IN. it has taken 8 days so far and i haven't seem my package, and they have not communicated with me nor the shipper about delays. I will now never deal with them ever again. This is a several hundred dollar sale I am waiting on. This company is unprofessional, irresponsible, as well as useless. Unless of course you are looking to spend a ton of money on something and pay them to lose it and take longer to delivery it than it would have taken me to drive there myself and pick it up. 11-26-2013 ZERO STARS. merging with Vitran and all shipments are at least two days behind in their St. Paul terminal. Vitran and Central computer systems are not yet fully talking to each other. What does this mean? It means NO ONE knows where my freight is that was delivered to their terminal on 11-21-2013. Hold times at Vitrans 800 # and Central Transports # are in excess of 14 minutes. My customer is down to two rolls of film and i am going to shut them down as i sit listening to some crappy hold music. awesome! read more

I was led to this site, because of the TERRIBLE service I received from Central Transport. They are THE WORST transportation company. Don't use them for anything. I had them ship a used fuel tank from Oklahoma to Utah. When it arrived, the mounting bracket and one end of the fuel tank was crushed. When I tried to file a claim with them, they gave me a very lame excuse and denied my claim. They stuck with charging me their full rate, even after destroying my item......then claim that under certain "tariff rules," they didn't owe me anything! DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! The only reason Central Transport gets one star is because there is no ZERO star rating. I have shipped twice with them. Twice, our handmade specialized reproduction hoods ($1400) have been destroyed by this company. Customers did not take the insurance but there is a base that CT is responsible for. Since Friday last week they got a note that I needed a lift gate for pick up and they said they would have it on board for next day. My pallet was still at home and it had been 4 business day past. Every time I called in the morning they would I said I was on board and had a driver assigned for pick up but later in the day it would be pushing back to tomorrow because our lift gate was not available, or the driver did not make it to your address before your closing time, or the driver shift ended before he could finish his route. I would rate it a "0" stars if I could. we are a DOT company that ships airpacks for firemen around the country. CT picked up our products to be delivered to CO from ATL, the cost was very competitive and we wanted to try to use more local businesses. While in transit they send us a new quote stating our package weighs 800# pounds and it will not leave the terminal somewhere in the midwest until they receive payment! We had to dispute this charge which held up shipping for several days while the firefighters that needed these units had to wait!!! They finally re-weighed the package and confirmed it only weighed 175#. They then proceed to ship it to CO but failed to deliver the package, said no one was at the location?? Instead of holding it there and returning next day they ship it all the way back from CO to GA before letting us know they didn't deliver it! then they say it will cost another $600.00 to send it back! the original cost was less than $200 in the first place!! nothing but smug crooks with attitudes especially Jessica in there Michigan office. I have used Central Transport several times in the last four years. While they have never been particularly bad, they have also not been particularly fantastic. This last shipment is really the one that forced my hand. I ordered a ton of animal feed on 11/15/17. The shipment was sent 11/16/17 and then sat in a distribution center from 11/17/17 until 11/28/17. In the subsequent days, I ran out of animal feed and had to purchase a different brand to tide me over which is not good for livestock. All while my shipment sat less than 45 minutes from my house. Additionally, when I tried to email customer service on 11/27/17, my email was rejected because it did not come through their webpage. Then, again on 11/27/17, my phone call was dropped after a 12 minute wait TWICE. Having called back, I waited on the phone for customer service for an additional 15 minutes. They never communicated that they were unable to deliver my feed in the interim period. I will not use this company again. Very poor customer service. VERY VERY VERY poor customer service. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. read more
