What a waste of money. The food had zero flavor. The pork was so pale it looked like chicken, and I actually had to recook and season it myself just to try and save it. Half my family was so turned off by the food that I ended up ordering dinner from somewhere else. Highly recommend ordering a mofongo, I ordered the mofongo w garlic shrimp it was excellent moist and crunchy outside, usually they are dry. It was a pleasant surprise extensive menu so there will be lots to pick from. Place is clean and everyone who works there is very friendly read more

Staff is nice, friendly and attentive!! I favor Elizabeth who has been there for many many years - Salvador (part owner) and Audel (part owner). This restaurant was my go to spot and everything has gone down hill. The waitresses are rude and and the quality of food has declined. I am always missing condiments that I specifically ask for and am told are in the bag. (LIES). Their one slice of steak on their pan con bistec is ridiculous. Have been coming here for about fifteen years on and off. Mostly for breakfast and lunch. Staff is friendly and happy. Food is decent for the most part. EXCEPT today the breakfast was cold eggs, fries, home fries and steak were cold. My buddy told the server and she brought him a new plate of hot food. I sucked it up and ate my cold food which I probably should not have. Normally I leave 25 percent tip. Today it was 18 percent. Sorry folks. read more

Our go-to spot for lunch and dinner several times a month. Food is cheap, delicious, fresh, and the portions are huge. I haven't tried every item on the menu, but the ones I have tried have been flawless. Place is spotless, and the lighting is nice too. Cozy. My personal favorite dishes are the Chicken parm (not a traditional Cuban dish, but here it's delicious), the "media noche" sandwich, and any of the traditional Cuban entrees, especially the palomilla steak. The meat empanadas are mediocre, good but not special more than any other bakery or restaurant on Bergenline. But the guayaba y queso (guava and cheese, $1/each) version is to die for. I always find myself coming here over and over again...I usually stick to the daily specials as the offer about 3 different choices every day. The Ox-Tail is my go to dish...it's terrific. Can't go wrong with the baked chicken or chicken soup...white rice and black beans on the side are a solid choice!!! The staff is courteous and all have worked here for a very long time!!! This is the type of place where you stick to the daily specials because its almost guaranteed it is certainly fresh. I have never had an issue ordering the most common dishes; ropa vieja (shredded beef), boliche (pot roast), pechuga de pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken breast), their rice and beans, congri, plantains, papa rellena (stuffed potato) are tasty and delicious. I was there on Sunday and my friend and I ordered ropa vieja and boliche with rice and black beans. Everything was delicious, service was adequate and the prices are moderate. The waitress messed up my order gave me plantains when i had ordered white rice when i called about the mistake they were very rude and made it seem that i made the mistake.They wouldnt deliver the rice unless i paid a delivery fee and paid for the rice and thats what i had ordered initially. I got the "healthiest" option (cue butter comment) = egg whites (4 which is a good portion) with spinach, potatoes, Cuban toast, and tea ($6.95.) Fresh squeezed oj to polish off the meal. I went to today and ordered pork with yuca. My masitas de cerdo (pork pieces) were not cooked fully. The meat was red inside & burned on the outside. Never again will I eat there. Pork has to be fully cooked, it's not a steak! After I complained, the waitress said she will return the plate to the chef to have it cooked, I said no because it will be burned more. This place is amazing! Any item I've tried on the menu has been fantastic! Also, the owner is very friendly and he's almost there all the times we've been there to ask how's everything. The staff- we've been going here for years, so sometimes it's great and some others not so much. They always ask how's everything but sometimes they seem like they are in a bad mood. We don't let that cloud or mess with our meal at all. The price range is great too, and to find a great place to eat with great food is hard to find in WNY. read more
