For starters, they have free 1-hour parking (with validation) right next door which is a huge perk! Second, they're cash only. Third, this is definitely a local spot and despite a slight language barrier, the staff were incredibly warm & friendly. We ordered the Grande Pan con Bistec w Queso which is their large steak sandwich. We decided to split it and ended up ordering another sandwich midway through because it was that good. The sandwich is simple - steak, fries, onions, and cheese. The bread was the perfect texture and thickness, the steak was plentiful, the fries were salty & crispy, and the onions were tangy & bright. They're also known for their smoothies so we got two. Mamey is a tropical fruit tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. The flavor is closest to a melon, sweet potato, and caramel. I enjoyed this one but it's definitely on the sweeter side. Guanabana is soursop which is more custardy, sweet like banana and tangy like pineapple. I absolutely loved this one! This meal was so simple yet so satisfying. I highly recommend checking them out!

We started with the chicken empanadas and the bacon-wrapped yuca, and both were fantastic. The empanadas were perfectly crispy on the outside with a flavorful, juicy filling, while the bacon-wrapped yuca struck a great balance between smoky, savory, and crispy. One of the highlights of the night was trying their Experience Drinks menu. I ordered the Limpia del Alma, which was incredibly refreshing with bright citrus notes, tropical fruit flavors, and a smooth, well-balanced finish that made it dangerously easy to drink. I also had the Jungle Bird, a beautifully layered tropical cocktail with rum, pineapple, bitters, and just the right touch of sweetness balanced by a subtle bitterness--it was easily one of my favorites. My mom also explored the Experience Drinks and loved both of hers. The La Flecha Old Fashioned offered a rich, elevated take on the classic, with smooth whiskey, warm spice, citrus, and a touch of sweetness that gave it plenty of depth. She also enjoyed El Último Malecón, a vibrant, refreshing cocktail with tropical fruit flavors, fresh citrus, and a crisp finish that paired perfectly with the meal. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere really brought everything together. The live music created an energetic but relaxed vibe, and the beautiful ambiance made it feel like a mini getaway without leaving town. The staff was welcoming, service was attentive, and the entire experience felt memorable from start to finish. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu. If you're looking for great Cuban food, creative cocktails, live entertainment, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile, Rumba Cubana is an easy 5-star recommendation.
