On the way back from an event in West Chester, some friends and I ended up looking for a Sunday stop to eat (read: nothing was open at the semi-odd hour). This place is a bit off the beaten path for me, but one in our group had been here before and gave it enough praise to check it out. The menu has traditional items- chili, roast, sandwiches, and other comfort foods. I had a fish sandwich that was surprisingly tasty. Others were equally as satisfied with their meals and we all walked away nourished. Our server was really nice, the place felt comfortable, and there were a handful or regulars and older folks enjoying their meal. There are TV's in the bar area but it felt more like a restaurant than a sports bar, for sure. This is not at all a place I'll likely be near in the future, but it is worth the 'risk' if you're not familiar with the place and looking for a bite to eat. read more

Had an awful experience tonight. We waited an hour and half for our food and when my shrimp basket arrived I could not eat the fries that came with it as they were cold and soggy with grease. I told the server, he offered to bring me another order of fries but I had waited so long for my food I told him forget it. And the kicker they charged me full price for food I could not eat. This business is NOT following Any COVID requirements. They are doing self service that's table and chair are NOT sanitized. Our table was gross and sticky along with our chairs. No servers were wearing masks and leaning over the table to take our orders. No Social Distancing, table on outdoor patios were regularly placed. Century inn has the potential to be such a summer hidden gem. Unfortunately the horrible service doesn't out weigh the food/vibes. Their patio is large and perfect spot for summer night drinks and dinner but they are almost always under staffed and the short staff that they do have won't even bother addressing you if they're too busy. This has happened upwards of 5 times and I keep hoping it will be better next time. After sitting on the patio for an hour without so much as a "I'm sorry I'll be there as soon as I can" - I can say for sure I won't be going back. read more

Bad experience food was delivered by DoorDash 2 tenderloin sandwiches and Saratoga chips. The sandwiches were over cooked I would call it borderline burnt. They also taste like old grease the chips had the same old grease taste. read more

My boyfriend and I have a bucket list of local places to try in 2015 and this was on the list. I've driven by many times and never really given it much thought as I had the impression it was just another bar/tavern type place. We went tonight for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised, especially given some of the poor reviews. The building itself holds the charm of being over 200 years old. We were seated immediately and our server was right there with menus and taking drink orders. The menu is typical tavern fare and there are a few items that are a bit on the pricey end. My boyfriend ordered the bacon burger and I had the pot roast sandwich, both with their house-made Saratoga chips. It did take a bit longer than a typical chain type restaurant to get our food but the wait was worth it. The pot roast was incredibly moist and tender, not stringy at all. The portion was extremely generous and the Jamaican relish gave the sandwich that little extra tang that put it over the top. I would give that sandwich a 5-star as it was excellent. My boyfriend's burger was cooked to perfection with crispy bacon and was also an very generous size. The waitress brought us some of the house bbq sauce for the chips and I liked it better than some of the bbq places in the area. With the family-friendly atmosphere and good food, we will be returning to Century Inn. As we were leaving, business had picked up and we heard people arriving had an approximate 30 minute wait, so I would definitely come early on the weekend. read more

The food was really good. Some menus items are very overpriced. For example the cra cake appetizer is only one it's 10 bucks for lower quality crab. Now it could be because it was deep fried and full of grease but I'm not really sure. The lemon ruemalade sauce that comes on the side is pretty good. The girls had kids meals. Mac n cheese was real mac n not that Kraft junk. Also for 11.99 you got a breast, wing, thigh, and drum with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn, coleslaw, and a dinner roll!! The Chicken juicy and delicious. Their burgers are nothing special but the prime rib and bacon and onion sautéed Brussel sprouts. definitely a place to try! The inside is small so it gets loud when it's busy, but a cozy lil place with some history. Next time I will try the deserts. read more

Went to the Century Inn because a friend's band was playing on one of the few not-totally-sweltering summer nights we've had this year. We sat out on the spacious deck and had a blast! The deck is gorgeous with a full bar, and there's even space behind where there is plenty of cornhole/bean bags set up. Service was a bit slow, but in their defense it was a full house. Beer prices are great and I can only vouch for dessert, but it was tasty. Peeked around the inside a bit, and it looks like a place we'll come back to with the whole family. Can't wait to go back and sample the full menu. read more

Great old place full of history! Food was good, too! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that my date thought the fried chicken was too salty to eat. I thought it was great, though. :) If you like your fried chicken salty, definitely get it! If not, you've been warned! I got the meatloaf dinner, and it was great. Portions were huge, appropriate for the pricing. We both took home boxes of leftovers. Another warning: the fudge brownie sundae is definitely meant to be shared! It was amazing, though! The Century Inn is a great value, friendly, and a lot of fun. And it is in a cool historic building. I've tried a number of menu items and have been happy with everything. The outdoor area is perfect when the weather is nice, beer prices are fair, and sometimes there is live music. Note: There are basically two entrances and two parking lots, but it is all one big place, so just ask someone to help you if confused on your first visit. read more

And it can be a hassle trying to track down a seat, let alone a server to wait on you. I can't speak for the inside as I never eat inside. The only reason I go back is because of the food. I'd been here a couple times over the years, so on the way home with the wife the other day we decided to stop in and give it a try on a Thursday. I always remembered having a pleasant experience here and while the food was pretty good for a tavern or pub, the service was slow and inattentive. The server did have a trainee with her, but I would have thought that would have made things better. The trainee could have attended to refills or other simple tasks. Instead she tailed like a lost puppy. Food took some time to get, check took some time to get - so if it wasn't for decent food at a decent price I'd have rated at 2 stars. Hopefully this is the exception and not the rule as far as service goes. read more

This is the type of bar i love. It has the old time feel and charm. This place has been open for ever and you can tell by how the inside looks. It has been up kept well and and is what makes the atmosphere what it is. There is a good selections of beers on tap and the food is good too. The burgers are good but i would recommend the ribs and the onion rings. So if you are looking for a different place try this place. read more

Randomly stopped in here with a friend because we love checking out any type of bar. The bartender was super nice and great to talk to. My friend and I each ordered a drink and an appetizer. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. I ordered potato skins and they were perfect. So much potato with the perfect amount of crispiness! to me, the best item on the menu is the fried chicken. tender and juicy, good breading (not too spicy), served with mashed potatoes and grav y, and (canned) corn. wish there was a choice of veg but adding a side salad for a couple of bucks is a good option. basic price for the 4 piece chicken dinner is around ten dollars--good deal. this is a neighborhood tavern, not a trendy yuppie bar. we had my mom's 90th birthday dinner in the private dining room last year. all dozen guests enjoyed their meals. in fair weather, the outdoor deck is fun. sports on tv and music on weekends. good drink options and casual atmosphere. i love cincinnati's historic places. this former coach house inn was renamed the century inn to celebrate the turn of the century--from the 1800s to the 1900s! hope it will stick around for a long time to come. read more

I get the fried chicken. It is made to order. For a little over $12.00 you get 4 pieces of fried chicken, 3 sides and a roll. My husband gets the salmon. He says it is really good. Good price and plenty of food. And don't forget the dessert. The pecan chocolate chip pie warm with ice cream is delicious. The wine is priced reasonably. read more

I made a reservation for lunch on mother's day. when we arrived I was disappointed to find that they didn't have my name anywhere in their books. they made a make shift table in the bar and had the bartender take care of our larger table rather than assigning a server. we waited almost an hour to get our food and when we did get it the food it was subpar. I got a grilled cheese and it tasted as if the grill had not been cleaned. our server did the best he could under the circumstances and I have no complaints about him. management needs to take a look at their turn around times because this is the second time it has taken this long to eat. will not be going back. read more

First timers, we noticed a moderately full parking lot on a Sunday just before 6 PM. on our way to a nearby park. We returned at 8 PM for dinner and the place had cleared out with only 3 tables remaining. My husband ordered the fried chicken dinner special at the recommendation of the waitress. The meal is comprised of 4 pieces (1/2 chicken) of breaded, deep fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, a scoop of buttered corn, a small dish of cole slaw and a roll for $10.49. The meal is on the regular menu for $2.20 more. No substitutions are permitted on the special whereas the regular meal provides for a few side item choices including brussel sprouts with bacon and brown sugar. I ordered a blackened bleu burger medium rare and french fries extra well done with a side salad. The burger was over $10 and was served with saratoga chips or cole slaw with fries or onion rings offered at an upcharge.The menu claimed the burger was the owner's favorite. I asked the server if the burger could be prepared to my requested doneness and she assured me that it could. My salad which was an extra $3.29 was served shortly after we ordered. It took another 30 minutes and an inquiry to the waitress as to why our meal was taking so long until we were served. My husband's chicken arrived steaming hot and golden brown. The skin was crackly crisp and the meat tender and juicy! He loved it! Mine was another story...The burger was tasteless, cooked to well done with not a blush of pink to be found anywhere. The bleu cheese was covered with an extremely salty red spice which was overpowering. The fries, however, were delicious. Hot and crispy! My husband deemed his meal worth the wait. I suggest the servers warn diners who order the fried chicken to be prepared for a lenghty wait as each meal is prepared to order. I told my server that my burger was not cooked as I had requested. She replied that it seems as if some cooks just do not seem to have a grasp on different degrees of doneness. End of her responsibility, or so it would seem. Overall, I liked the casual, historic atmosphere. They have karoake, an outdoor patio bar and beach volleyball. We will give them another try but I will opt for something other than an over- priced, overcooked burger. read more

Arrived to century inn for first time and they apparently have 2 separate entrances. As we walked in there was no one to greet us. We walked around and asked if the bar seating was for food and they told us yes but that we could sit outside so just leave out the other door and take a left out the other exit. Just a strange interaction. We walked around side and walked up a ramp once again greeted by none. We eventually found a table and sat there without anyone coming to our table for a full 7 minutes without even a menu. The yelp menu said it had Alaskan wild salmon. Disappointed to see it was North Atlantic Salmon. Huge difference. We finally got menus and ordered beers. They came pretty quick. Noticed the glasses were dirty as bubbles gathered all over sides of glasses. Minor oversight but gross to know they only clean their glasses with plain water. Food was ok. We however won't be back,too bad too because this place had potential. read more

Plus side, the food is excellent. Extreme minus side, Service was really, really slow. Was there on a Sunday with a group of 25, who had made a reservation more than a week in advance. We were crowded into a section right next to the bar, which meant the people on one end of the table got to listen to the very loud conversations of the drunks at the next table. We got there at 5, one waitress for the entire group, who also was serving at least 30 other patrons. Orders were taken at 5:15. The middle of the table got their food at 6. Most of the rest of the table got theirs at 6:45. and the last got theirs at 7. No one ever asked if we wanted refills on drinks, and requested refill never came. My bill was wrong and it took three tries before I got a correct one. It will be a very long time before I try this place again, because no food is worth this much trouble. read more

It's been quite awhile since I had been here (like 20+ years!) but nearly as I remembered, if anything I would say improved. Had the fish and chips special and found it to be a very good choice. Tasty, crispy, but not overpowering batter on three chunky cod portions. My partner had a meaty chicken wrap that she fell in love with (only complaint was a handful of potato chip pieces - bottom of the bag?) Great,attentive service at a very reasonable price. My husband and I were very disappointed with our latest experience at Century Inn- we came in for a relaxed lunch, but after waiting over an hour for our food and trying to get drink refills when we had empty glasses was beyond relaxing... It became apparent after we were there a while that the kitchen was not cooking anything in a timely fashion...we watched a table get up and leave without eating because they had to get back to work. What was odd was the lack of explanation by the wait staff...and the lack of attentiveness. Was our waitress scared of going back to our table because we were starving or was she taking a massive amount of breaks? I finally asked a food expediter to get us some fresh drinks after she walked by and asked me if we were waiting for our check...no, we were waiting for our food if that tells you how long we had been sitting there. I asked her what was going on and apparently the new menu bogged down the kitchen. Apparently the odd older man who wandered around the deck randomly picking up dirty glasses and the younger guy bussing tables did not feel the need to give any kind of service to the customers waiting for their food.... I have waited tables for 21 years and if I had anyone in my station sitting that long waiting for food I would be giving them an explanation and excellent service...and I certainly would ask management to address the issue by either talking to my customers or comping some of the check- neither of which happened. If your kitchen staff is that slow, you need to make some changes. I was really surprised that we had such a bad experience here- what a shame because the food is pretty good. read more
