Friend asked to have no bacon on the grilled cheese but it came with it anyway and was a bit bread heavy with 3 slices. She also felt there was an odd flavor to the sandwich she couldn't put her finger on. My experience was much better. They were very attentive, accommodating and had our drinks / food out in a timely manner. Some of our favorites for drinks include: NA Sweet Tea, Alcoholic Lemonade, Bourbon Slush, Mojito. Favorites for food: Fried pickles. This was the pickle filled dinner of this pregnant lady's dreams! We ate outside in the bier garden and enjoyed some live music. The bar diy'd a pickle juice mocktail for me complete with pickle spear garnishes! There were a few indoor tables by the bar. Food was great! We split the Wicked Pickle Chips app, I had the Key Cove Cuban sandwich (mostly classic ingredients with a bit of added BBQ sauce) and the hubs had the Captain Panini sandwich (slightly more grilled cheese than expected). Normally, I do not like to eat out, but decided to try this little place after a nice mid-day bike ride. I did like the beachcomber ambiance, having been to many beach towns around the world, it had a great kitschy feel without it being overly gaudy. My waitress was very friendly and nice, took my order and brought it out in relative short order. So no complaints on the service or atmosphere. I didn't get a receipt so I don't know her name in order to give her a thumbs up. Now for the food: Because I grew up in an era where we finished our plates before leaving the table, I did eat almost everything I ordered. It was not the best food I've ever eaten, but not the worst either. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with a side of "secret recipe" mac-n-cheese. I understand food costs are always going up after the scamdemic (my word), but if you call yourselves the "Wicked Pickle", maybe you should offer a pickle spear alongside your sandwiches? That is, if you make them in house. The sandwich itself looked well presented, had all the attributes of a great Cubano, but whoever slathered on the spicy mustard does not know how to do so in moderation! I love spicy, but the horseradish in the mustard was way overdone. There were bites I had taken of that sandwich that the intensity went way up my nose and down my throat before I could finish chewing. The pickles on the sandwich were sparse and thin, so a few more would've been nice. The mac-n-cheese... if you're going to herald this as a secret recipe type of offering, make sure that there is something special about it more than it being little more than a box of Velveeta mac-n-cheese. First off, my waitress brought it to me stone cold. The shredded cheese hadn't even melted. That right there tells me that they do not make it fresh each day. And the quality of the pasta echoed that, being overcooked and not well seasoned when cooking the elbows (whenever that was). The cheese was nothing more than shredded from a bag. The waitress did take it back when I brought it to her attention that it was cold. She did bring it back to me warmed up. But there really wasn't anything special about it. If there had been salt and pepper shakers on the table, it could have improved my visit. Maybe it was a lackluster day because they were gearing up for the holiday weekend. But every day should be like a performance of a lifetime if you want people to come back. Which I will not be. read more

This was at least my second occasion eating at The Wicked Pickle. We shared the nachos and I got the 8 count Jamaican shrimp. For lunch, this was quite filling. I also tried a bite of my wife's chicken wrap. Everything was delicious. I loved seasoning on the shrimp and the toppings on the nachos. It was light but filling. Today, Saturday, October 5, 2024, probably the nicest Saturday in a very long time, not too hot not cold not rainy. We decided to go to have a late lunch at the wicked pickle. Checked their Facebook page , as was the recommended the last time that they were closed because it was a little too cold outside, even though all the other outdoor venues right around them were open. So today at 3 o'clock, we arrived finally managed to garner a parking spot and head in for a meal. Much to our disappointment there's a sign that says that the kitchen is closed today, sorry. It's very disappointing and I just can't imagine that that's any way to run a business. Probably never coming back. That's a little bit of a drive but we really like the atmosphere and the food, when there is food, not be able to count on a place being open when it's nice outside and actually be serving food on a Saturday afternoon, just not something I want to deal with. read more

Highly recommend this cool Key West, Florida vibe bar and restaurant and you must try the Cuban sandwich with tots, the Mac and Cheese and the fried pickles. Second time, trying to have a meal at the wicked pickle last Wednesday, girl said they were closed for a private party. They were just cleaning up not really sure why they wouldn't stay open after they already had people there and it was a getting close to dinner time so back home we go they had told us to check the Facebook page that there is updated Information regarding the hours I did that photo attached from 6:07 PM this evening still says they're open they are not. We drove a good ways to get there. Thought it would be a fun place to try. Never going back would recommend not going there because you may drive far and have to find a meal somewhere else. Atmosphere was great. Live music was solid, it was a little loud but the band was good. I got the bourbon slushee and it was decent. I brought my puppy with me and the wait staff insisted on giving her a "Fido Freezzy" I was hesitant since she was so young but say "sure why not." I was under the assumption that it would be complimentary since literally every other restaurant or chain offers free dog treats, then was surprised when the waitress told me that'd be $3. Maybe lead with that next time instead of insinuating it's free. $3 isn't a big deal but it just felt like they were pushing it like they had a quota lol. Let's start with the good. The atmosphere was good considering it was a hot day last weekend. The outdoor patio was comfortable with plenty of shade due to large trees and umbrellas. We visited after a 20 mile bike ride and expectations were high. Now for the bad. The Wicked Pickle is advertised as having boozy drinks. My wife and I each had a specialty drink - mine was the Bloody Mary which very much seemed like a virgin Bloody Mary. We always give restaurants at least one opportunity to prove their drinks, and they failed. We quickly switched to seltzers and beer because we knew they would have alcohol. Now to the food. The Wicked Pickle was out of pickle chips!!!!!! What???!!! Just as someone mentioned earlier the Cuban sandwich meat was bland with seemingly no seasoning. Please just add a little bit of spice for heaven's sake. The Mac and cheese was also bland and seemed store bought. I'll wait until I see more positive reviews until we return again. read more
