I recently hired Century Landscapes to remove a bunch of old junipers and replace the lawn in my backyard. The job was completed as promised and I am very happy with the service provided. The crewed showed up promptly on time daily and were very pleasant to work with. Through no fault of the landscape company there was a bad batch of sod from the supplier. I reached out to Dan the owner a few days later to let him know some of the sod was damaged. He showed up at my house within the hour to inspect what had happened. By the afternoon same day all damaged sod was removed and replaced. My lawn is beautiful now. I am very impressed with the quick response and resolution to an unexpected problem. Easy to work with, Awesome follow through, Great Design, Very Professional! Needed to get quotes on pavers, demo and install for our backyard. Did the usual checked yelp and put together a list of 10 companies and asked facebook as well. Century Landscapes name came up so we added them to the list. Called 7/10 to come out and do bids, most were too busy but 3 managed to show up to walk our backyard and chat with some options. First company listened to what we wanted but had zero input more of an order taker versus a design, we opted to tell them to give us a bid and they never followed up despite emails and calls. 2nd company seemed nice but flat out told us work couldn't start till October (we were getting bids before memorial day), so they were out. Century was the 3rd company to come out and we had William listen to what we wanted for about 20 minutes and then add design ideas we didn't even think about. Told him our budget and timeline and he let us know what we could do with both. Final budget was on point not a dollar over the quote. The job itself was about our kids safety we had an old splintered deck, a pond that leaked, a grass border holding back some shale rock (very sharp not kid friendly stuff), and sorry looking grass. The team at century was able to do all the demo in one weekend, and start the prep work for 1500 sq/ft of pavers to replace everything aforementioned, and as an add on William and the design team constructed a great flag stone patio where the sorry looking grass was. Work went fast and when I had a concern all employees on site took the time to talk with me and fix the issue without any of the usual grumbling or difficulty some contract work entails. To summarize spend the time to talk with this company, and you wont be disappointed. Pricing they were right in line with the competition. Quality of work was outstanding. Communication was great (text/email/call they always responded). Thanks for getting our backyard a place we can enjoy with the kids again! P.S. UPDATE: It had barely been a year since I had my front yard re-landscaped and my sprinkler system converted to an irrigation system. I had add to my review that the irrigation system Dan had Todd put in has sprung no less than six additional leaks this season, and that's on top of the multiple leaks it sprung in the weeks after he installed it last spring. (Yes, I did have the system properly turned off and drained during the winter months.). Every time I turn around, the system is leaking somewhere else and it's become a nightmare to maintain. The whole point of my having this landscaping done was to convert it to something low maintenance. So much for that. The proverbial frustrating gift that keeps on giving. Original Review: I was so hopeful when I hired this company to re-landscape my front yard because they were so highly rated, but I did not have a good experience with them unfortunately. Dan, the owner, seemed a nice enough guy at first, but I found that unless I documented everything and held him accountable to it, things didn't get done the way they were promised. He didn't instruct his crew to follow all the instructions on the quote that I signed to authorize the work. His crew leader Todd, in fact, said the owner instructed him to omit some of the work in the quote I signed in order to save them money on the cost of the job. Very disappointing that I had to keep referring back to the contract to remind him what was agreed upon and get them to come back out to fulfill what was promised. Also, the irrigation guy, Todd, copped a bit of an attitude with me when I asked some questions about how my yard had been laid out and why the irrigation system sprung so many leaks after he worked on it. I was willing to let that go as long as he made it right & followed up on his word, but after he promised to come back out and winterize the system free of charge this fall, I contacted him to follow up on that promise, and he blew me off. There were so many mistakes made throughout the process, and although I will give Dan credit for sending his crew back out a couple of times to correct most of what went wrong, the overall experience was poor. If you do use this company, document everything, stay on top of the work that's done, and hold them accountable. read more

This company is a joke. They do the landscaping Greenleaf Waterstone community. They do such a horrible job that the residents are starting to clean their areas themselves. Many community members have made complaints, per the office staff. They Barely ever do any trimming and when they do they leave the clippings everywhere. They ride around on mowers smoking. If you want any professional work stay clear away from this company. read more

All summer I asked for them to check the brown spots on the lawn and to trim shrubs. They did nothing. When a sprinkler head kept running it took a few months for them to notice and it wasn't until I water checked the bill that I realized it still was not repaired. This winter the snow removal was horrible. I fell in the driveway trying to tell them they had to actually remove the snow!!! They take every short cut to speed through the job and get on to the next one. Nothing is done well or completely. Its a constant job to chase them down and follow up to get the work completed. read more

This company does the worse job at my apartments. They were out here the other day pretending to mow. I see them take more breaks than anything. The grass is so overgrown that the property looks awful. They don't use grass catchers and what little they do cut gets everywhere. Wish the owners of the property would hire someone else. Also the guys working are so incredibly rude I just want to yell at them. read more

I live in San Diego and hired them to do a back yard for my mom in Sparks. The work they did was absolutely amazing! It was top notch! The pavers looked great along with the extra decks look 5 star! Did a great job incorporating slate into the the pavers and old walk way. The plants they picked work great for northern Nevada! The way the hill was manicured was beautiful!! Met with them 3 TIMES for about 45 minutes per time to discuss the requested work to be done. Numerous subsequent phone calls and emails. Kept changing their story as to what they would do for what price even though we had talked about the required work multiple times. Kept saying, "oh we didn't talk about that... it'll be more if you want that done!" (even though we did) However, agreed upon a start date and work to be done but they never showed up. Call two days later and said they weren't going to do the job. Very poor service and untruthful to boot. read more
