There are things I enjoy about all the major theater chains- I like regal for the different movie formats they have (some regal locations have IMAX, Screen X and 4DX which all add to the enjoyment of the movie), the staff are usually very friendly plus I love the "Drips by Pepsi" drinks at Regal theaters as they have fun drink flavors like a cotton candy lemonade with popping cotton candy boba and actual cotton candy as well as a Cherry Pepsi boba drink topped with cold foam and mini marshmallows so if your taste buds are adventurous like mine that's something you might enjoy... then there's the AMC theater in Lakewood Towne Center that features reclining seats, some unique food options that stretch beyond classic movie snacks and if you do the ALIST membership you can see up to 4 movies every week yourself for just under $30 a month which is a great value but this Cinemark theater has quickly become my favorite of any of the movie theaters near me! It's a very nice theater in a nicer area of Tacoma, very clean, comfortable, they also had the best pizza of any of the theaters I've been to in Washington thus far but what really matters here are the reclining, heated seats! Yep, their seats not only recline but they can also warm your back and booty up!!! Plus, if you book tickets to a movie in DBOX format and sit in the limited DBOX section of the auditorium, you esentially get a back massage as well because there's vibration synced to the movie with DBOX!!! Ain't nothing more luxurious than watching a movie while reclined with a heated back massage- pardon my language but it's F*CKING AMAZING!!! I think i may need to cancel my AMC ALIST membership and become a member here instead even though the membership here only gives you one movie credit a month but it's also a lower priced movie membership making it a more affordable option, you also save on concessions and if you have a fandango account and link your movie club rewards that's even more savings that add up quicker! Getting acquainted with Ruston! The little shopping development area with park looks so quaint near the waterfront and welcoming, reminds me a bit of the Renton landing! The movie theater is across the street from a free parking garage for visitors. The venue is well maintained with comfortable seats & it wasn't busy at all during a weekday afternoon. This is my go to movie theater. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Be sure to log into the wifi because there is almost no cell phone service down at point Ruston. ALSO, be sure to validate your parking and put in the correct license plate because they WILL give you a ticket if you do not validate or pay. Beautiful place for dates or family nights. Catch a movie, some food, and take a nice walk along the Tacoma waterfront and enjoy unobstructed views of Commencement Bay and Mt. Rainier. read more

This was a lovely cinema attached to an open-air mall area close to the water. I came for a private screening event, and it was an enjoyable experience having a private theater to ourselves. The chairs were reclinable and very comfortable, the concession stand had 4 kinds of Icees and a nice selection of food and drinks, and the place was clean. FYI - they don't have previews during private events! The cinema also offered validated parking; there are self-validation kiosks on the wall once you pass the check-in counter. This was so nice since you won't need to download the app or spend $4/hour on parking. Only downside of my experience was that I had no phone signal in the area. Came as a group to see the special streamed stage musical play of Oklahoma with Hugh Jackman from 1999. Theater was super clean and staff were friendly and courteous. The only futzy thing was that the bathrooms were a little difficult to get to as it's beyond a gate and you have to go and scan your ticket thru the booth and do a u turn and walk back out to the lobby to the bathrooms. For someone with mobility issues there was a lot of walking to do just to get to the bathrooms. The theater seating itself was awesome and super comfortable with reclining seats. read more

We had to try a theater with recliners. Really enjoyed the experience. We also Didn't mind we were in the front three row. Head rest is so comfortable that you don't even notice that you are looking straight up. My favorite thing was that no one behind you could tap on your seat to annoy you. Only bad thing I would have to say is that we ordered popcorn and drink online but not ready in the pickup area when we arrived. We waited for awhile but employees only helping those in line. We had to get back in line and advise our order was not there. Gentlemen wanted to keep telling us where it should be vs. just getting our order. He even double checked where we were already at to confirm it wasn't there. I would suggest not ordering foods online. Get it when you arrive. Saw the movie Speak No Evil today. The movie was good and I enjoyed it. Afterward, I used the ladies' restroom, and it was disgusting. Dirty, everything's broken down. I asked to speak to the manager, and a 20-something girl showed up and had no clue what to say. I spend a lot of money and visit this theater often as I live up the hill within walking distance. Went here for the first time yesterday to see Bad Guys. We went to the 9:15 showing and when we got there I was surprised there was a lot of people there that early. Ticket prices and food seem cheaper than other theatres. We parked right in the front and were given 5 hours of free parking when we signed into the kiosk. The movie theatre is clean. The chairs are the big comfy recliners. They offer wipes for their leather chairs. The leather chairs were cracked which seemed odd because the theatre is so new but I get it if they offer all those cleaning wipes, the chemicals may have ruined it. This might very well be my new favorite theatre and look forward to going back soon read more

They have no service even with their "wifi" I went to check in for my movie and I could get the app to work cause of the WiFi and I got no help. I have taken my family here only once before a couple years back and I remember the experience at the movie theater been wonderful. Now that they are back open since the Covid restrictions have been lifted I was excited to see two new movies. The first movie I brought the kids to watch was boss baby 2 and then we returned to see Peter rabbit 2. One visit was earlier in the day during the week and the other visit was towards the early evening on a weekend. Each visit the staff was nice, accommodating and helpful. The movie theater is kept clean the bathrooms were kept very clean and the popcorn nachos and ices were delicious. I would like to say this location is a very well-kept movie theater and I felt very comfortable bringing my family here. We will definitely be back to watch many more movies in the future. The popcorn taste fresh! Not to buttery a good amount of salt and the nacho cheese was warm, the chips that come with the nachos were nice and crispy and fresh. For the fairly steep price you pay to see a movie here, you'd think they'd at least TRY to maintain the restrooms. Every single time I've been here with my family, the restrooms were absolutely disgusting. I'm talking urine all over the floors and feces on the toilet seats. Not sure how it isn't a health code violation of some sort, honestly... People will be tracking that mess everywhere. If I were you, I'd consider going elsewhere until they can address the cleanliness of the facilities here. They clearly do not care, and it shows. Your wallet and health will thank you. read more

I'm happy it's rare when we go to the movies. The seats are huge and spacious!! This pregnant mama is all for those great seats. Everyone was friendly that we came across. I was also happy that they had a great supply of Jalapenos individually packaged take as many as you would like. I dont like when they have them in the self serve container and they all look soggy or discolored. The chips were nice and crispy no stale chips is a A+ for me. I've been a regular visitor to this theater since it opened, and I have to say, it is definitely my favorite theater in the area. I love the assigned seating that you can buy online ahead of time (no having to get to the theater for a good seat an hour beforehand for popular movies), the reclining seats that are also stadium seating, the screen size, the good screen brightness (something I noticed when I went to a different theater last week - it was so dim it felt like I was watching the movie with sunglasses on), and the cleanliness (it's usually been very clean when I've been there). Parking is free, there are kiosks to validate your parking on the other side of the ticket taker booth. I also like the atmosphere here. It's modern and inviting and looks to be well-maintained. I haven't had much interaction with the staff, but everyone I have briefly talked to was polite and helpful. Last year, I went to see Avengers: Infinity War in their XD theater on opening night, and they had some problems with the sound. They accommodated that by giving everyone in the audience vouchers for a free movie ticket in the future, which was very much appreciated. They have very reasonable ticket prices early in the day during the week, I often go if I have a day off. Also, Tuesdays are discount days all day, so that's another good day to go. We spent almost $60 on tickets to the Barbie movie because the only showing with available seats was overpriced XD. We arrive about 20 minutes prior to the show and find out the AC was busted. That would not normally be an issue because I usually find the theater too cold. Unfortunately the odor in the theater was overwhelming. This is absolutely my favorite theater! My daughter and I come here at least once a week, she is 4. This week we saw the movie Leap, which I truly enjoyed and she was dancing from beginning to end and out the door! We always get 2 tickets and then she gets the kids pack which includes one Slurpee or soda drink, plus a small popcorn with or without butter, plus I fruit snack for about 5:50. Also, Tuesdays are the deal days where it is only $5.50 per person no matter what time of day and we try to make it that day, but don't always do so. But anyhow, that's our favorite time. After waiting nearly 20 minutes in line for the dark haired, heavy set manager and one blonde lady to do a thing with the only customer in front of me, I spoke up, asking if anyone else was available to help. The lady said she could - if I was using a credit card. Luckily I was, but the film was full. The manager never looked up, never addressed the crowd (that grew to 50 while I waited) and apologized for the wait, or tried to get another person to help at another register. I read other peoples experiences that were not so great which is unfortunate for them. Parking was easy breezy in the garage going in, but upon leaving I noticed it was filling up quickly. I went to the first show 9am on this day, bought my ticket through the Cinemark app, walked right in up to the agents inside working the front desk, scanned my barcode, was handed my ticket lickety split. Boom..away I went..no problemo. The XD huge screen is nice, but you can't fully take in ALL the details on screen because of it. HD regular 2D would have been okay to view. However the XD 3D would be great on this scale of a screen, but I've never had the XD experience until today. The seats are nice like the other Cinemark theatres however a little less private. The walls that divide the rows are lower in the XD auditorium so you can view the entire screen. It was clean and sparkling like new inside, so I'm not sure why one reviewer gave 1 star indicating it was already falling apart. No...it's not! I didn't buy concessions on this day, but they have deals. Join the club and accrue reward deals. They send email deals periodically and you earn points towards other rewards as well. Get the Cinemark app. Makes it easy to buy tickets, select your own seats, put phone into Cinemode, access other theatre information, get directions, contact info and more. Bathrooms are located out in the lobby just before you exit. It's divided from the entry side, so you can turn around and go back in not having to show your ticket again. I'll be back. Nice option from the Federal Way location. read more

While I still like this theater and it's location the customer service is horrible. In fact the customer service isn't just "bad". It is nonexistent. Some glitch occurred with a movie ticket I bought online that put me in for the day of rather than the next day (which is the day I wanted). When I came in the next evening I was told that an error was coming up with my confirmation number and to call 1-800-Cinemark. The girl then asked me to step aside so she could help others. I looked at my email and the ticket said it was for yesterday... even though I was very careful from the beginning to pick the day I wanted. I told her what the problem was and she told me again to call the 800 number. And so I did. I called this number and was on hold for half an hour and still nobody answered. I have a feeling I'd be on hold for days if I kept hanging onto the call. I went back and talked to the supervisor and told him that nobody was answering the phone and he told me to send in an email instead on the Cinemark website. Well that took about three or four days before I ever got a response and then I was redirected once again to another website while in the end could do nothing to assist me. So instead of buying a ticket to watch a movie at a Cinemark theater the theater got more of a "donation" from me. This theater is the best one that Tacoma has to offer as far as mainstream movies go and while I definitely didn't get my money's worth I feel like I will be back due to this.... and maybe I will get "lost" in a couple of theaters after my movie ends. The staff seem pretty clueless so this should be effortless if I mind my P's and Q's. Lol! Oh, only if I remember to... I only like ever step into a theater about twice a year, three max anyway. I'm sorry Cinemark but you may have lost us as customers. First, we visit your theater only because of location. Your pricing is high, and now I see pay stations going in? Are customers going to have to pay for parking soon? If so, I don't think your outrageous $8.99 a month loalty program will save you. Your bathrooms are not large enough to accomodate patrons. I keep looking for another set of restrooms but....you still have to build them and I cannot hold it that long. Super sorry for the bad review...will change it if I am incorrect about the parking. My fiancee bought tickets the night before. We got them outside at the ticket printer. There was no one selling tickets, just an electronic box. $15 minimum wage at work. The concessions area was clean and we had no issues once inside. The place was crisp, clean, and close to the parking. I only had to cross the street. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will catch another movie there over other locations. read more

The seats aren't as comfortable as our usual theatre at Lakewood mall. The seats do not go as far back. The head rest oddly pushes the head forward. This sounds minor but over two hours does not feel good on my neck. After experiencing the comfortable seats at Lakewood this is disappointing. The sound system at Lakewood is also better.
