These scammers have really done it! They're trying to force people to into paying with automatic payments from your bank account! So what they're doing is waiting to process your payments by check, " that I know for a fact they get way before due date" so they can charge you the ridiculous late fee charge of $20.00 extra and when you call to complain, they say they'll take off the late fee charge only if you enroll for automatic payments from your bank account! these crooks need to be investigated! read more

First off this internet service does not have a trusted certificate! Logging in prompts a "Risky" warning! My internet was freezing up or very slow downloading. My tablet won't even open up the link to return the modem! They will charge me $200 if they don't get the modem. They also will keep the full monthly payment despite you turning off your service in the service in the middle of the month. Th3 customer service people were VERY RUDE! read more

Customer service doesn't exist here. I have tried to cancel online and the system won't let me because I am a valued fiber customer. I called the number that your website suggested and was on hold for 30 minutes until I couldn't wait anymore so I hung up. I ended up putting a stop payment through my bank on this account because it is the only way to end their service. The worst part is that I'm just trying a new service provider and if they didn't work out I would have been happy to come back to CenturyLink. Not only have they ensured that I will never return but I will also spread the word of how extremely difficult Lumen/CenturyLink to leave their service. The amount of hoops they make their "valued" customers go through is ridiculous. I cannot recommend Centurylink for anything. Trying to actually talk to a human being is probably easier to do on a deserted island. You sit on hold for literally hours, then if someone does finally answer they tell you they aren't the right person and transfer you. However that transfer ends up being dropped and you have to call back and try again. Four hours later when you think you finally got somewhere with your issue think again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I would highly recommend going with one of their competitors. This is a very unethical and deceptive company. I went to cancel my business account and specifically asked them what my ending balance would be after cancelation. I paid the amount they gave me and they shut off service the date I requested. 6 months later their collection department hits me with an unexpected bill. After showing them proof that I had paid the final bill, they pressured me and told me they would continue to add fees until I paid it. I ended up paying the bill to prevent any negative hits to my credit, but I am highly disappoint in the way I was treated! Plus, I continuously had issues with their service! My apartment complex has a contract with this awful company. I have no other options and cannot leave this service at the moment, unfortunately. I've had them for 4 years and always have issues that never get resolved. My first issue began in 2018 when Centurylink was pulling money out of my account for my monthly bill, and then my services were almost disconnected. I was told that my bill was not being paid and to speak with my bank. I have statements proving that it was pulling from the bank, as well as my bank confirming it. I spent 3 hours on the phone with account and billing (conference call) only to have the two women I was speaking with yell at EACH OTHER and say to one another, "don't tell me how to do my job." I still ended up paying a hefty amount, because I was so exhausted after dealing with it, and have the rest credited to my account for one month only. Recently, I've been having serious connectivity issues. I'm lucky to be able to get on the company website to speak on their chat bar with a representative. I've been disconnected 4 times and have to wait in another queue, just for it to happen again. Their "24/7" technical and internet support is only open Monday through Friday and they do not have anybody available. Like I said, I'm lucky to even have a connection, though weak, to my internet. If I didn't, I wouldn't have internet for 3 days or be able to get in touch with somebody who can help me figure out whats going on. CenturyLink has the absolute worst customer service, and a website that is not user friendly. They also don't have a physical location that you can go into and talk to somebody face to face. By far THE WORSE customer service/company experience I've ever had. I'm a pretty forgiving person but this place is horrendous. I was moving and went online to schedule my wifi before I got there because my apartment complex said the offered a discount if I used their link. Made the account and all that was pretty easy. Then once I moved in I plugged in my router/modem and wasn't getting internet. So we called and the guy was super hard to hear and definitely didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about... but he said my router "probably" wasn't compatible.. so after SCOURING the internet to find a "compatible" one listed from their website, I ordered the "right" modem. It took a week to get there. Plugged it in, still nothing. So I call again on a Friday, this tech guy tell me the problem is on their end and he needs to send a technician (on Monday) that the tech would call me when he arrives. Monday rolls around.. NOTHING. So I call Tuesday, this tech lady pulls up the ticket and says that the tech is actually scheduled for THAT day. So again, I say okay and I'll wait for him to come. Again, NOTHIN. So now its Wed. I call AGAIN, can barely hear the lady, but after being on the phone for 45 min we figure it that they have the wrong address in the system. HOW?? The last 3 people I talked to needed me to confirm my address to help me, which means when I was telling them the correct address they weren't paying attention that they were actually different. So, they say this is ACTUALLY the problem and that they were going to cancel my account, refund me for that amount, and that I just needed to make a new account with the correct address and I would have internet. So that's what I do (against my better judgment) after creating the account, surprise surprise, still no internet. At this point I'm fed up beyond belief and call to cancel, after getting billing on the phone and telling the lady what I need she says okay she just needs my account #. Now, when you sign up, the email only sends you the last 4 of your account #, you have to log in for the whole thing. So I tell her 1 sec, try to log in, and it keeps telling me its logged into another account (the old one) and I need to sign out first. BUT IM ALREADY SIGNED OUT. So I mess with it for awhile and then eventually find something that says "manage other accounts" so I click on that and it logs me in, but it's a different webpage then my other log in, and anything you click on (trying to find my account #) just comes up and says there is a problem with the site on their end and to try again later. So then I ask the lady on the phone if I could just give her the last 4, no response. I ask hello for about 5 minutes.. nothin.. then it just hangs up. So I call back again, this dude was by far the only decent worker, only needed my name and email, could hear and understand them, and cancelled my account and said he would refunded my money all within 3 minutes. Again, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, and such a massive waste of my time and energy. I'm in CO Springs, and ended up eating some of the cost and switched to Xfinity (hopefully they'll be better). read more
