They force you to upgrade to quantum fiber without any warning and then proceed to disconnect service without resolution for a whole week! They sent a rep over to our house, who had wrong name on the account, without notifying us. We sent him away and then 5 mins later our service was disconnected. There is no one working the weekend. On Monday morning when we call to get our service restored, they had us on the line for 3 hours, disconnecting multiple times, connecting us with repair reps that don't work for our state, and truly just giving us a run around until we had no choice but to upgrade. Even then it was not until 2 days after. Not a single customer service rep has any brains to work in that company on actually how to troubleshoot a problem. I used to be a CenturyLink customer because they were the only option. Fortunately Comcast finally installed service where I live because even though Comcast is terrible, Century Link somehow manages to make then look like a great company to do business with. On September 24th a CenturyLink / Quantum sales employee whose photos are attached to this review thought that it was a good idea to ignore the No Solicitation sign that is bolted onto my front door by knocking on my front door and ringing my doorbell. We bought our first home - a modern country home. We're happy not to be living in an apartment somewhere, but the downside to country life, is some of the amenities are more difficult to come by. This includes CenturyLink, who has outages about 1-2 times each month. Very frustrating. If you can find another provider, please go with them! read more

I was forced to have DSL which wasn't great in the 90s because that was the only choice in my neighborhood. After 3 years of mediocre service I cancelled the service when cable service arrived on my block. I returned the equipment as agreed. 3 months later they are telling me I have a balance due. When I called a nice lady rattled off a bunch of dates and numbers which were all inaccurate. Now they are threatening to send the account to collections for $200 I do not owe. If you have no choice for real internet service pick any company but CenturyLink. I gave them one star because 0 stars is not an option. read more

have had this internet company for 5 years -unfortunately it's currently the only option in my area until November (I will be switching immediately. The service is disrupted multiple times a week- when you call in because you have no internet for 4-5 days on end they tell you that you must wait for a technician to fix a line- all of my neighbors have service except me- but theres a line issue for just my home- you can't make it make sense- my neighbors all had issues but they text in and there internet is back on immediately. After speaking to my neighbors they have a direct cell phone contact to (Preston) - glad they pick and choose who to help and not help- if you can avoid using century link I suggest utilizing any other company before them. read more

Everyone thought Xfinity was bad. Ohhhhhhhh nooooo....Quantum is THE KING of incompetence. Ordered service March 6th with an installation date of April 1st, with outside work done in between. Some incompetent crew showed up unannounced when I wasn't home, 'Installed' a line to a crooked box with a crooked connector, wrote on the front of the box (that is too high), and crushed the inner cables. ELEVEN phone calls later, I was told someone would be by to fix it. Never came. Today, March 21st, I get a text ' You're back on the schedule! For March 25th!". When was I off the schedule? Two days notice to send a tech for final installation? Connecting to what? The broken box and broken unburied cable outside? Oh, and the infamous 'We are escalating the issue'. and here's $10 for your trouble. Trouble? I haven't even had service yet, but rest assured, SOMEBODY at ANYTIME is on the way. Apparently Quantum doesn't care about your schedule. As a new customer this is by far the worst way to begin. At least Xfinity pretended to care before they screwed you. Quantum just outright screws you and I can't even comment on the quality of service because I have none. But that could change at any moment. Quantum could show up seconds from now. Or in two weeks. Look at the pictures. Whoever did this said 'Damn! I do good work!!" I'm glad I kept my Xfinity equipment. Now we call the Retention Department at Xfinity to negotiate a price an actual human can afford, and THEN.....Quantum can go screw somebody else over. Cancelled. Was forced to go with quantum fiber and I mean not given an option. Once I cancelled my service they tried to claim I didnt return my modem. And to this day still claim I didnt even though I already won the dispute with my bank. I have photo/video and the ups tag of the modem going into the package at the store. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. We have what they refer to as "business Internet", allowing (allegedly) 5-6 devices to stream adequately. However, with only one smart t.v. connected, the picture quality is awful and online gaming is impossible. We are exploring our options for our area, but definitley leaving Century Stink. read more

They are the worst, my husband decided to give Quantum fiber a chance, they did not show up for the first appointment and closed the ticket after having us wait all day stating that "no one was home" a complete lie. My husband decided to give them another chance and scheduled yet another appointment for another Saturday and they show up an hour and a half late on a 4 hour time window, not a call or a text. He had to follow up because they've missed the time window. I canceled the minute the guy showed up, you can't count on a company that can't even show up on time for an installation. Pre & post hurricane Ian we had Century link internet. They LIED to us everyday that service was being restored for 3 months and they continued to charged us! No discount. Finally they said they weren't going to fix Century link internet and we all had to go to Quantum Fiber. Since it has been the worst service ever. Always going out for days at a time. They don't work weekends. The outages are area wide and the off shore rep insists you reboot your own system. Knowing it won't fix it. All my neighbors dumped them. After another 4 days of no internet we went to a competitor. read more

I would echo the other 1 star reviews. I woke up to yet another outage. The absolutely worst internet provider of all time. I was deployed to Somalia and the Chinese provided internet was light years ahead of the third world service provided in Cape Coral. The CEO should be prosecuted criminally for fraud. read more

FIND ANOTHER INTERNET PROVIDER!!!! I have had Century Link for years. Over the last couple of years, the customer service has become so bad that NO ONE should have to be exposed to it. I'm warning you now before you have to find out the hard way. My Internet was down on August 6, 2024. I waited a couple days to see if it would come back on and checking the app for outages. I finally attempted to reach customer service which is almost impossible if you need to speak to a person. After many frustrating phone calls, I finally canceled my Century Link Internet on August 15, 2024. The app did not allow me to cancel it online, so I had to make YET ANOTHER phone call to cancel my service. During the phone call I asked what my final bill would be, and the customer service rep said that I would get a credit for the days that I didn't have service. I was told to WAIT FOR THE FINAL BILL IN THE MAIL and to call back then for the amount that I owed. Today I received an email stating my bill was ready and there was a charge of $18 on there for LATE FEE. YES, AFTER BEING TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE BILL!!!! I've been on the phone with Century Link for three and a half hours today over the course of three phone calls. On one of the almost 2 HOUR calls I kept being transferred. They are refusing to refund the $18. They keep telling me they CAN'T do it. When I ask for a supervisor, I got placed on hold for a very long time and then transferred to the wrong person. This has happened four times today. One woman said I've already talked to you today. This is not the first time I've had an issue with customer service at Century Link. Every time I have an issue, I can count on wasting a good part of my day trying to resolve it. It's absolutely insane that a company can treat you like this and think it's okay. I was told not to pay the bill until I got one in the mail. To date I still have not received it but they're insisting I owe them $18 for a late fee. Century Link prices were competitive at one time. That is not even true anymore and there's no reasonable customer service. I hope I can save people a lot of headaches by steering them away from Century Link. LOOK at the other reviews you will see that this is their MO. They're all 1 Star reviews. Don't let them suck you in. And No....... my issue is still NOT resolved. read more

This in in reference to Quantum Fiber. The service/quality/value are terrible and keeps getting worse. The recent 'equipment upgrade' has been a nightmare. The signal doesn't provide coverage throughout the house, the new 'broadcasting ghz' has been changed so my security system (blink) and garage door system (my Q) no longer will connect to my wifi and they didn't sent enough equipment. When I called to ask, I was told to go to their website or app to order an additional pod. As i sat on the pone with the rep and said 'there is no 'shop' button', I literally argued with the woman that it wasn't there. After FIFTEEN minutes she came back and said 'there is apparently an issue with both sites and they have escalated it so it can be fixed. I asked to be transferred to a department that I can order a pod from. NOPE, I was told that isn't possible, that Quantum does that ONLY by internet. I asked for a tech to come to the house with one. NOPE only customers that are getting new service can get a pod from a technician. OK.... whatever. So they would let me know when the sites were fixed via text.. 2 weeks later nothing. I can't go on line when I'm at the other end of the house or on the lanai. Went on the site today... Wow, there's a 'shop' button. Good thing they contacted me. I will be cancelling my service with Quantum and moving on to COMCAST for a less expensive internet provider. If the customer service is going to suck, at least I'm not going to pay a ridiculous price. read more

We now have Quantum Fiber, but the customer service has not improved. I tried to order one addition WyFi pod and spent five hours working through the many different instructions to do that. Can't even download the Quantum Fiber Apps from either my computer or cell phone. Something as simple as ordering a piece of equipment is made so hard. If it was on Amazon, you would have it in two days. And talk about speaking with a service person, that takes a mind reader. They didn't go to the school I did. read more

The worst decision I could have ever made for my small business. 7 different people came out to install and not one of them knew what they are doing. 27 hours I have spent talking to "customer service" on the phone IN ONE WEEK. I have spent hours on multiple days waiting for them to show up only to be told they "were busy with other calls" a day later after waiting an hour to speak to someone over seas. They charged me $100 and I have no service whatsoever and if you try and cancel after waiting hours on the line they will hang up and guess what? You get to do it all over again! They'll text you giving you a time when it will be restored then the time becomes a later time, then another text that it'll be the next day and then the next day. CenturyLink sent a tech seemed nice, knowledgeable and seemed to understand I wanted to do away with my land line (hardly ever used) but wanted to keep internet up too reasonable speed. He seemed to work it out justifiably that way dealing with someone in the office: landline be deadened but maintain the higher speed which they had threatened would be reduced. All Happy as he verified speed being kept, closed out and left in theory reducing my cost80-90$ a month doing away with landline. I tipped him. Half hour later interest went out - followed by one disaster/incompetency, terrible customer service after another. No local retail shop,long phone waits for incompetent assistant, and on and on. Drove me to Xfinity today - can't be worse ...I hope! CenturyLink's worse attribute is forcing you to stay with them because they disconnect use of email address you have used for decades causing you to get a new one to send to hundreds/thousands of contacts/persons who had the old one. Of course, no way to get to anyone to immediately send tech back to fix original setup - be back in a week , hopefully I'll hav Xfinity up and streaming by then. Bottom line CenturyLink is a disaster- finally convinced me I have to get a new email to distribute to hundreds of friend, family members and colleagues. Never again!!!!! read more

Constant slower speeds than they advertise and if you get smart and switch service providers so that you get actual usable internet they charge you for the entire month even if you only have the internet for 4 days. It literally says it in the name CENTURY LINK. It takes a century to link to any service. When you call in, no one wants to work.
