The first time a random person texted me two days before my appt just asking to come install "now." Uh no. Then my appointment was cancelled for my original time. The next time they didn't show up during their window and had no ETA for how late they were running, after another couple of hours I cancelled. I gave them a third try yesterday- by far the worst. After being an hour late I message and still no ETA. My appointment was from 10am-12. I for multiple calls and messages at 5:30pm from a tech telling me they had arrived and they seemed confused why I had not set aside my entire life to wait code them for on a Friday night. Long story, this company has no idea what they are doing. They are clearly mismanaged. If you can't take appointments- don't. If you can't service your clients - shut down. read more

After a stunning 52 minutes on the phone to set up my account, a week later after paying, I was scheduled for installation when I received an email and a text telling me it would be rescheduled. The link in the email led to an FAQ, a screenshot of which is attached to this review. I made three attempts to call for more information. The first two never reached a human representative, despite my repeatedly asking for one. All told, the three calls I made today totalled forty minutes. I eventually cancelled my order. My experience has been mixed. Timely installation by a good technician. That was good. For the most part the quality of my connection is good. Not as fast as cable but has been down fewer times. The mesh network is actually pretty good so on the overall my coverage is better than it was with Comcast. The problem I have with Quantum aka CenturyLink is that their pricing / billing practices are deceptive at best. I signed up on a plan that promised $65/month, no contract and no price increases. 6 months in they informed me that they are raising the price by $10/month. When you try and call "customer service" the wait times are a joke. Usually when that happens I try a chat. They also don't credit you for outages which is uncool. Pretty much the same lengthy wait. They did give me a slight accommodation but it's left a bad taste in mouth on the overall. When alternatives to Quantum are available in my area I'd definitely going to give them a look. An arsonist burned a house in our neighborhood, which impacted the fiber internet lines for many surrounding homes. The next day Comcast trucks were there, Johnny on the Spot, to replace their customers' feeds. All my neighbors and I who are Quantum customers (the CenturyLink internet operation in Seattle) have been begging for help. We have gotten inconsistent responses, and vague promises for a repair in a week or two, but so far nothing real has happened. When everything is working fine, who cares which company provides the service, but when the feces hits the fan, apparently it REALLY matters. My internet through Quantum Fiber (a century link/lumen subsidiary) has been down for five days. They offered no help beyond scheduling a technician for five days after outage began. Day of service call, received a text at 9:04am saying technician was enroute and to stay ready for arrival. 90 minutes later, nearing end of quoted service window, I called live customer support. Spoke with a person, got put on hold, then told they spoke directly to dispatcher and technician really was enroute and would be to my place in 30 minutes. 70 minutes later, now well outside service window quoted, I called live support again. Was put on hold again so they could "talk to dispatcher". Came back, told me likely sometime today but that they couldn't say when exactly...probably before end of their business day at 5pm. The company lied blatantly to me about a technician being enroute. They failed to offer any concessions or refund of any sort. They won't even commit to prorating the days of outage and no service. There is zero value being given for what they charge. Have never had a service provider so miss the mark. Days without service and then clear deception and untruthful statements about status of technician. Avoid CenturyLink/Lumen/Quantum at all costs. A truly dishonest and unreliable business when it comes to customer service and truthfulness. read more

Absolutely terrible first experience with Quantum Fiber. I scheduled an installation and waited all morning for the technician, only to watch him pull up, sit in his truck, then leave without ever knocking or attempting to contact me. Minutes after he left, the status updated saying he was there. When I followed up, I was told my appointment had to be rescheduled for two days later, even though I was clearly home and tried to flag the technician down. This is completely unacceptable. I work remotely and had taken the day off specifically for this appointment. To make matters worse, the system claimed the technician couldn't access the property--which is just false. I've been with Xfinity for over 15 years and never experienced anything like this. I regret giving Quantum Fiber a chance. Recently switched to a better and less costly provider and I despite cancelling the service the day before the charge was to go through, Century Link charged me for the next month of service anyways and now are saying that they can not refund that charge even though I don't actually even have service. Complete fraud. They are clearly desperate because they are basically trying to steal $75 from me. CenturyLink sucks! Internet in my area is out again. This time for projected 3 days. I get things happen but you get the same tired msg of estimated recovery time after you've spent 5 minutes going through all the prompts when you call in. Why not send out a msg via text about what the problem is with periodic updates? Usually what happens is they send an email 6 hrs after the outage which you get once you can get out and about to grab a signal. Then after it finally comes back up you get a msg saying it's up and running but again it's usual several hours after the fact. Why not have an outage map like PSE with info that tells you what the problem is and how big the outage is. I work from home so lose money or pto when this happens. Not that they care. read more

I didn't think it was possible to make Xfinity look good. CenturyLink/Quantum Fiber pulled it off, though. I signed up for 2-5 installation. I don't even know why a technician is necessary - I live in an apartment, and Comcast lets you self install. And I don't know, and my building manager doesn't know why, a technician required 60-90 minutes to poke around closets and panels. Regardless, by the time technician did said poking, Quantum's internal service had shut down, and he was unable to install internet. I don't know why Quantum schedules for 2-5 if that means technicians show up at 4:40 when they shut down at 5-6, but they do, and the bottom line is I have no Internet. Impossible to get in touch with anyone for help. I had an appointment three weeks out to get internet hooked up for my new business. I had to get work covered to be available for the tech installation, then less than a week before the installation date they sent a text saying it was now going to be moved to two days later. I was going to be out of town so the new date didn't work for me. I called to cancel the appointment and spent an hour calling the customer service line over and over trying to select the right number to actually get to speak to someone real. So frustrating. When you try to cancel an appointment from the website it makes you go to a link and then you're required to log in in order to cancel - I didn't have an online account set up since I ordered service over the phone. If you're trying to get ahold of a representative and you don't have an existing account but you've already initiated service to start just press the buttons to connect you as a new customer otherwise you'll just be looped around and around to never getting in touch with anyone. I had an order number so I thought I would be prompted to enter it. I wish I would have checked Yelp before even trying to get internet set up because all of these one star reviews make so much sense to me. read more

As a business working to have our phones migrated to Microsoft Teams from CenturyLink, it is almost impossible to reach anyone. Their phone system is so convoluted that trying to determine which extension I need, is a challenge. Worse, when someone answers the phone, they have no idea where to send my call or who I should speak with. So, they just transfer to whatever line they think is best. That transfer turns into another transfer, turns into another transfer, and then because another transfer is needed - in the attempt to transfer me...they hang up. Today, they canceled ALL our accounts because of this migration. The migration isn't supposed to take place for three more days. The phones actually stopped functioning last Friday late afternoon. And, instead of canceling just the lines we are migrating, they canceled all our lines including our fire and security alarms. Talk about a mixed-up, responsibility-lacking, disorganized cluster of a mess....just another reason we are leaving for an internet phone service. CenturyLink, you earn an F for FAILURE. read more

if I could give 0, I would. Century Link is the only provider for this location. They use this to take advantage of and gouge customers, whilst docking the service after a few months of usage. Our internet is running at a third of what we are paying for. not only did we have to fight with 'Greg' for a credit on the account, it's going to be NINE DAYS until a tech comes to 'fix' it. Unfortunately, I have to warn others to stay away. After years of reliable service, I began to have recurrent connectivity problems. When I attempted to try to get tech support, I encountered a mind numbing and time consuming experience that was fruitless. They will lose a long-term customer as soon as my shipment arrives for a new modem from a different company. Sad because all they need to do is provide good tech support. The problem is getting to tech support. If anyone from CenturyLink is reading this and cares, your chat does not work and your phone automated system does not work. We recently switched from Comcast cable internet to CenturyLink fiber internet and we are really happy with everything so far. I would definitely recommend it. I signed up directly on CenturyLink's website for the Fiber Gigabit plan. It is $65 a month for life (or until you move). It includes free installation and a free modem/router and they threw in a $100 Visa gift card! The speeds are up to 940 Mbps download/940 Mbps upload with no monthly data cap. At Comcast we were getting 100 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload with a 1.2 TB data cap for about the same price. It was super easy to schedule the appointment and you can do it on a Saturday. It is kind of annoying that you have to block out a full day, but they do call you about 30 minutes before they actually show up. If you download the CenturyLink phone app, you can also log in and see an estimated time of the technician's arrival. There were actually two technicians involved in our installation. The first one hung the fiber optic cable from the telephone pole to the box outside our house. The other one set up the modem and router inside our house. Both were friendly and knowledgable and it was super quick! Our internet speeds are definitely faster now, but of course it won't be hitting that 940 Mbps number all of the time. We haven't had any problems so far with the service. read more

My time with CenturyLink as an internet service provider has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I think they are deliberately trying to scam me out of money. The website to cancel does not work. It lies to you, saying that you can cancel online. I have filed a report with the FTC. Then when you fill it out, it says you cannot and you must call. When you call to cancel, they ask you a bunch of bullshit questions and put you on hold. AtlasNet is providing me with faster service for cheaper, and with a seamless customer service experience. If at all possible, avoid CenturyLink. At all costs, never use CenturyLink. I've had this internet for one day and I already hate it. First, I keep getting texts telling me an agent is coming to set it up. There is no agent, they told me it was a self install over the phone. Second, apparently you can't even set up the internet until hours after your equipment arrives and you get a text message telling you the appointment is complete. It would have been nice to know that before I spent nearly a fucking HOUR calling all the tech support lines and going through a vortex of goddamn doom during which the automated system hung up on me more than four times until I was literally screaming into my phone that I wanted to talk to a representative. Who then told me I didn't even have the option to set it up until 7pm the day of my appointment because the link that displays in their app to perform the setup (that I thought didn't exist because it wasn't there) won't appear until that time. Thank you Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!!!. You finished the installation left incomplete from 3 years ago. The first Installer never checked the line or the phone jack that we paid to have installed. Incoming calls were disconnected within 3 rings. All calls were plagued by a loud 60 cycle hum. It took 2 weeks of incompetent telephone, chat, and other "CenturyLink tech support" , 20 hours of personal time on my part, and $450 of unnecessary replacement equipment to get someone here to fix the internet. The telephone support leaves a LOT to be desired. When a technician, Jeff, a true hero of modern technology, came out, not only did he fix the internet, he also fixed the phone line that never had worked. We had been paying for it for years; now we can actually use it. 95% of the people I encountered via phone, chat, or text seemed to have no knowledge of how to troubleshoot a problem. They do not seem to have been trained past the point of asking if you have unplugged the equipment. Once they have asked the same repetitive basic questions, they mysteriously disconnect. Some do not even try to make it seem accidental. One text tech support person typed that he did not have time to "look it up" and disconnected. After that, txt help has been blocked to me. Evidently, Centrylink might be one of the most economical internet/phone DSL providers. I'd be tempted to switch, but after spending all that time and money, it is too much work to start over. If Jeff, the heroic service provider, switched companies, I would follow him to another service provider. Give that man a raise and train your phone service techs. read more

To whom it may concern, Our company has been without phone or fax service for 5 days, since Friday 2/9/2024 at about 11am. We've lost thousands of dollars in business because we cannot answer question calls from potential clients that just went to the local boat/yacht show in Seattle, we've spent hours upon hours on hold trying to get the issue resolved, we've had multiple "tickets" the numbers I have most recently are ticket MR #0160116, & REP #0155683 issued for the repair, had many, many, many, CenturyLink employees tell us that someone was on our way, someone would be here by 11am, no one showed up, and then we received the automated call on an employees cell phone at 2:30pm that the dispatched employee, I believe by the name "Enrique" would be here within 30 minutes yesterday which they never showed up. Now we've spent at least two hours today on the phone just to be told repeatedly that dispatch shoved us back down to the bottom of their list and "they promise" once again that they can come out tomorrow 2/14/2024 at some point to fix the ripped cable line... There has been soooo many lies, issues, "basic standard answers" provided to myself and my employees. Although all of your poor customer service employees were above and beyond nice, it's an absolute "joke" speaking to them to hear the same list of "standard answers" and receiving absolutely NO service. It's clear our business is not important in the least to CenturyLink and we will be moving all of our phone lines to Comcast at this point. Although my business may be small to CenturyLink with our 9 phone lines, we are in the business of title and escrow for large yachts. We deal with the wealthiest of clientele whom also are business owners for large corporations, and believe me, word of mouth on how someone is treated by other businesses goes a long way. Too bad there isn't a ZERO. CenturyLink has been nothing but problems from the get-go (4 plus years). 1. Calling them is a nightmare--wasted hours sitting on the phone waiting to speak to a representative. 2. It took almost 2 years of calling and finally well-written letters to get my name and information on the billing instead of my daughter's (who set it up for me). To get any help, my name had to be on the bill, so until I got it in my name, I couldn't get help without my daughter calling first (ridiculous). 3. I put in for "stop service" when I moved and the service was never stopped (their error) and I am paying for 2 months (I don't have the time or energy to fight with them--I work) when I no longer lived there or had service. 4. They have no record of my returned modem almost two months after I returned it in their box via UPS, so now we have to go back to UPS to get the tracking number to prove we returned it. 5. "Representatives" often ignore questions they don't want to answer, like "Is there any faster way to get to a billing representative than sitting on the phone for up to 90 minutes?" DISGUSTING company!! You might ask why I didn't change providers--I lived in a rural area and at the time there were only 2 main providers and the other one has issues as well, though I doubt if they are this comprehensive. read more
