Got the San Diego Detail package from 5 Point Mobile on a Saturday. Adam and his worker were on-time and very friendly to deal with. As it was my first time getting an auto detail, I don't have much to compare it to, but as far as I can tell, they did excellent work both interior and exterior. Everything was nice and vacuumed on the inside, the dashboard was shiny. It made my 12 year old car look like... 2 years old. External looks real good and shiny too. We brought my BF's Land Rover here a few weekends ago for a full detail on the inside and a wash on the outside. First I have to say that we really appreciated the discount that we received as well as the customer service from the main attendant. I think his name was Adam, I'm not sure though. He didn't try to upsell us on other services like a lot of the other car wash places. After leaving the car there, we were told to come back at four, and the car was ready when we were told it would be. On our way to pick it up we were discussing what our expectations were, and my BF was expecting a lot considering all the FIVE star reviews on yelp and the fact that it was going to cost aroung $140. I was a little more realistic considering he smoked in the car for two years. Honestly I think the detail fell short. Here's why: - There was still lint/dirt/grime in the crevices of the seat and seat tracks. - It didn't look like they tried to clean the roof material on the drivers side, because it still looked dirty. -The vents looked like they could have been cleaned a little better. -There were space/crevices in the trunk that still had sand. I think that if we would have closely inspected it before we left we could have caught these things, but after being out all day I just wanted to go home and it was getting dark. Also, I do want to say that if I brought it back the next day, I would like to think that they would have taken care of my complaints. BUT the reason why we brought the car to be detailed is because we are having a baby any day now, so I really don't have time to go back and have this done again, when it should have been done the first time. read more

Up until today, I had not vacuumed the interior of my car in...um...I don't know, and I don't want to know. Entire sodas have spilled in the back. Ass sweat has seeped into the fabric seats on my way home from the gym. Crumbs from snacks in every crevice. Yuck. Neither my car, nor my husband's car, had ever been detailed (interior -- that's what I care about, not so much exterior) in the 5 years we have had them. I decided it was time, especially since my husband's had been smoked in and it was like driving in an ashtray. I scheduled an early Saturday morning appointment with Adam over the phone. He was very pleasant and professional and honest. The appointment was at 9am. At 8:30 I was emptying out my car and the guys arrived, which was cool with me. They got started and spent about an hour and a half on my car and did a spectacular job. I was super impressed! It looks just like new. They spent about an equal amount of time on my husband's car, as well. It smells much better and looks like I have never seen it before, or expected it was capable of looking. I spoke to Adam a few hours after the job was done and he is a super stand-up guy and really believes in his business and the quality of that business. When it comes to car washes, I suppose I'm a bit old-fashioned. I've always been a little perplexed when I see those mall parking lot operations that promise a "waterless" (or, as is the case with 5 Point, an "eco-conscious") wash/detail. Somehow, my 40-something brain can't imagine getting a vehicle clean without sending it through a carnival-like tunnel full of water jets, multi-colored suds, and robotic air blowers. So you can imagine my confusion when I searched Yelp for an auto-detailer and 5 Point showed up as a top-rated result. I was befuddled (in the same way my dad might be if I asked him to "shoot me a text"). I don't know how the 5 Point guys do it without water; I didn't stick around to watch the process. I didn't need to, as the bright, shiny vehicles being reunited with astounded owners provided my aged decision-making with all the evidence it needed. For less than I've paid for a half-assed detail elsewhere, these guys made my old Yukon look showroom new. I am a believer in their eco-conscious voodoo, and they've earned a loyal customer. My first detailing for my beautiful Jetta - Loved it! Adam is super cool, super helpful, and a super fun guy. On Monday (they were closed), I called and left a voicemail to pop in on Tuesday at their mobile site in Mission Valley - and Adam called me back in less than an hour. I bought the San Diego package (full interior, exterior) - and let me tell ya - My car was disgusting. I got my new car a little over a year ago, but I've been shuttling my boyfriend's husky for quite some time now. Husky hair was all over the place, practically embedded into the carpet floors. Not to mention all sorts of dirt and gross stuff in every crack... I felt so ashamed to bring in my car. But in just three hours, it was almost brand new! Interior was amazing - My boyfriend resents the fact that I am in love with my interior and therefore no food is EVER allowed in my car anymore. And neither is the husky! Exterior - Adam really did the best he could. I had some dog scratches on the car door, below the window... which I will def go back to get rid of them once and for all! He got rid of the minor ones, but obviously left the slightly deeper ones (that's for the next package up). Next time ,I'll be back for the full exterior package. They do phenomenal work Here's the long review: Disclaimer: I will be reviewing these guys from my perspective as a huge car geek and auto detailing nerd Found these guys on opti-coats website list of authorized dealers to install. Opti-coat is made by Optimum car care and is a big car care detail product company and its a blue chip name in the auto detail world. It basically puts another ceramic clear coat but alas, so much prep work such as thoroughly washing, clay bar, paint correction, application curing etcetera. The paint protection they offer at the dealership when I got my prius in 2012 is quite bad and not worth their price tag. Oh and opti coat has a 3 year warranty for all cars more than 4k miles and lifetime for absolutely new cars. Leo gave me a great price (call ahead for quotes) considering how big the surface area of a prius is and I alao requested to remove my annoying vinyl wrap on my prius. They got it at 10am and got it back 5pm. Mind you they had a lot on their hands with my car as I had annoying amounts of tree sap to deal with on my poor white car. They sure needed that whole period of time so plan in advance. I loved how Leo recognized that I was big on car detailing and showed some stuff coming up for the new shop and would love to see when it comes up This place is right in the parking lot of mission valley mall on theater driveway. They will be here til the end of the month and they will be moving to a new location to expand their services. Overall amazing experience and I will totally make sure other car gets seen and make many recommendations to get Opti-coat applied with these guys. read more

This place certainly isn't bad, however for what I ended up paying I was a bit disappointed. I bought a used car which had been previously owned for multiple years, it was grimy and lived in so I had no qualms with paying to get a full on interior/exterior cleaning as soon as I bought it. I obviously wasn't expecting it to be like new, or even close, and I honestly think they did a good job and made it look much better. However, for a price of almost $200, it was disappointing to get home and see dirt on the door handles that came up easily as soon as I went at it, and spots completely missed like the top of the center console door. As I said, it's not that they didn't do a good job, but simple things that were missed make me wish I didn't spend as much money on it. Customer service was great however, and I know these guys really care about their customers, which is actually why I'm writing this review, I know they appreciate the criticism and I would love to help. read more

While in the middle of class this morning I realized that I needed to get a car wash and being new to SD I live and die by yelp, so it lead me to 5 Point mobile auto detail and I could not have been lead to a better place! I went to the mobile location by mission valley mall in between my classes and I had to be back to school within about an hour so I wanted to make sure I could get my monies worth and not be disappointed. When I first called they told me it would be under and hour and a half for a wash and wax, which could cost 60 bucks, so I figured I could be a little bit late for class. Then when I got there they told me it would be done in under an hour. And then to my amazement it only took like 40 minutes!! and the quality of the wash and wax was phenomenal, my car had been weather a bit and they did an amazing job. Then even got rid of some of the swirl and water marks. All in all this place is one of the best car washes I have ever been to, its not one of those chains where they send the car through a big car wash machine, but they do everything by hand and you can really tell. This place is great - awesome customer service. After reading all the great reviews I decided to bring my white BMW in to get the basic detail ($50 which is a fantastic deal by the way) as my car was way overdue for a good cleaning. I was able to work with them to drop my car off after business hours and also to pickup after business hours and paid over the phone which made my life way easier. When I picked my car up, it looked amazing, better than it looked since the day I bought it 3 years ago. Upon getting into my car, I found that my cigarette lighter cap was missing and I searched for it in the car and was unable to find it. Fast forward to the next day, I call 5 Point to see if they have it and indeed the man found it in the morning and said he had it at his desk. Instead of just asking me to come get it, he went out of his way to offer for me to wait until my car was dirty, bring it in for a free quick exterior wash that was I didnt have to drive all the way there just to pickup a plastic cap. I recently purchased a used BMW 530. The Cars interior was in almost 'new' condition, but the paint had TONS of swirls that were most visible in the day time. As well the head light covers were "grey and smokey". My best friend in Vegas used to own a car detailing company. They did all the limo's for MGM, LUXOR and other casinos. I naturally asked his advise in finding some one locally. He started by saying "GOOD LUCK", and told me that ALOT of the companies out there weren't worth the money they charge. So he gave me a short list of things to ask about, and so my task began. I took it to 4 places and wasnt ever really given answers to my questions, just a lot of vibrato to them saying "dont worry, well make it look perfect!" 5 point was the last on my list, and at honestly I had some reservations about it due to its location off the back of mission valley mall. Adam seemed to answer all my questions before I could even ask him, really the only guy who seemed to know what he was doing. He also offered a few different options in different price ranges, which was great, as all the other places seemed to be ONLY pushing there "Premium Package". He also said, If you let us do this, Ill treat it like it was my car". And I gotta say, it felt as thou he really meant it. I ended up doing the OPTICOAT treatment and when I picked it up he said, bring it back in a week, and well take a look and see if theres anything else we might have missed, (In which time I had managed to scrape the front fender). Well, its been a week and I just picked up my car. WOW, above and beyond what I had expected. They even worked out my fender scratches and my headlight domes didn't just look cleaned, they looked NEW! My friend with the Detailing business happened to be in town. And he even said, they did a FIVE STAR JOB, (almost impossible to meet his standards). They had done a EXCELLENT WORK!!!! The detail is in the details, and they do it right! Hubby's car was getting pretty dirty, as he uses it a lot for his work and doesn't have a lot of spare time to get it cleaned. So based on the reviews here, I called up 5 Point. Adam answered the phone and was really helpful. They were booked up for the mobile auto detail, but I could bring the car down to their Mission Valley Mall location on a Saturday or Sunday. That worked great for me and I booked for a San Diego Detail package. When we dropped off the car, Adam checked it all around and pointed out where he usually would see problems with this model. The dude knows his cars. He suggested that since we were going to be having it washed, clayed, and waxed, that it would be a good time to get Teflon sealant put on it. It was an upsell, but not a pushy one. And the extra $65 for the Teflon was a heck of a lot less than the $495 the car dealers quote. Adam asked if we were going to be waiting or coming back. We had some shopping to do so we came back to pick it up. The car wasn't quite done when we got back, but Adam and his crew were going over it like busy worker bees. There's something cool about seeing a guy looking carefully over every inch of a car and taking care of small spots of dirt with a fine brush. The car was pristine when they were done. The exterior was great; the paint looked like new. The interior was super clean. No crumbs, no hair, no fluff, just spotless plastic. The only minor thing was that the seats, which had been cleaned, weren't quite dry. We'll definitely be using 5 Point again! read more

July 8th: 5 Point Auto showed up within 5 minutes of the scheduled time and my wife handed over the keys to the detailers that showed up (2 person team) to her work. They moved the vehicle to a different location from where it was parked (probably a shady area is my guess) and spent the better part of the day detailing the car. They arrived around 9:30am and didn't leave until around 3:30pm. My wife (who's car was being detailed) stopped during her lunch break to check it out and she said the vehicle was looking good and that the detailer took a few mins to go over some of the things they had done so far. My wife also said that the team was SUPER POLITE and COURTEOUS throughout the entire process, which is a WIN for me as customer service has declined over the years throughout America, but not with 5 Point Auto Detail thankfully (well done Chris and your team for the awesome customer service). The detailers went above and beyond from what my wife explained. They removed some paint transfer on one of the door panels, removed a scuff mark from the interior headliner, added a blackening agent to all molding that had fading, removed tar, bug guts and every single dog hair from the vehicle.... which if you knew how much dog hair is accumulated in the back of my SUV, you'd think it was an impossible task but nope, they removed every hair from every surface which for me was the highlight of the interior detail. The attention to detail was well above what I would have expected based on the last time I had a different company detail it. In short, would I use them again? I usually have my car detailed by another group that does mobile auto wash but I figured I'd give these guys a try due to the glowing reviews. I'm usually skeptical of the sheer positivity so I wanted to check it out personally. These guys do not dissappoint! Chris is fantastic and knows how to treat customers. He takes his time and explains the services, gives you straight forward answers, and does not try to upsell you on everything. As for the quality itself, I had just bought a new car and wanted it detailed. It looks like it came out of a showroom floor! Unfortunately, with black cars it's dirty again the next day. These guys are unbelievable. They are courteous on the phone and explain the different services they have available. They also give you options,they will come to you with one of their mobile trucks or you can go to them in Mission Valley. When I got there they didn't try talking me into other "add ons" which was great. They worked on the car about 5 hours and WOW. I had bought the car only 2 years old with 6200 miles so it was pretty clean. This car that I picked up was cleaner! The interior was spotless. Three months ago I was using it as a U-Haul on a move. It was horrible. They got every stain out. They even was in the wheel wells. It is well worth the money. Things they can not do ie...deep scratches, dings in the bumper etc. they have people to suggest that will do the jobs. The car was so clean when I picked up friends that night I wanted them to take off their shoes as to not scuff or stain anything! Look at their website...the before and afters, its true. The other thing that is great is that they are very "green thinking". They have a process that uses no water. But if you chose the normal process, and if they come to you they actually bring a mat that absorbs the water as to not create a mess They do a great job on both counts, for your car and for the environment... read more

A year ago, I decided to do a clear bra to the entire front of my car, level 2 paint correction, as well as the silver ceramic pro package to the exterior of the vehicle. A year later, my car still looks just as great as it did the 1st day I got it back from them last year. I had my car detailed by Adam several years ago and was blown away by the quality of service. He came to my house and made my car look like new. It wasn't dirt cheap but worth every penny. Anyway, always looking to save a few bucks I would get cheapie details once or twice a year (looked good but on closer inspection there was still sand and rubbish in the hard to see places). This simply wasn't cutting it. So I texted Adam and he got right back to me, he even remembered my car and address! I made an appointment for mobile service and Chalio came out to my house right on time. He was super professional and introduced me to him and his helper Eddie. He showed me exactly what would be done and got to work straight away. The two of them worked tirelessly to clean every nook and cranny of my car, even getting stains out from the seats I thought were permanent. I have a Honda Element, and often have bikes, surfboards, dogs, and dirty people (just kidding, kind of) in my car. By the time they were finished, I could have dropped it off at the dealers. I was worried that after several years and different detailers that 5 Point wouldn't live up to what I remembered; but they more than fulfilled my expectations. I recently got a Yelp account so lately I've been thinking back to the businesses that have stood out to me in the past (both good and bad). I went to 5 Point Detail a few months back because my black BMW 330ci was in need of a serious cleaning. The exterior hadn't been washed in a few months and the interior was pretty dirty. I called and made an appointment for the next day with Adam. I took my car in the next day and hesitantly decided to go with a pretty expensive package. Adam said it would take a few hours so I went to lunch with a friend and killed time until my car was ready. When I went to go pick up my car I was definitely impressed with the changes. The paint, which looked dull when I dropped it off, had regained the glass-like shine a black car should have. I was impressed that it didn't have the fake shine of a cheap detail job that just drenches your car with gloss that will wash off after a day. They also did a great job with the interior, which looked brand new. The leather was conditioned, looked great, and felt soft. Additionally, the dash didn't have the greasy/shiny look you get from most detail jobs. The entire car was legitimately clean. Aside from the wash itself, I was even more impressed with the honesty of the crew. I had lost an $80 pocketknife about 2 years ago, and assumed I dropped it or left it somewhere. As I drove off after my detail, I noticed it was sitting in my center consol. Anyone could easily have pocketed the knife and I would never have known, but they found it and left it for me. In summary, 5 Point Detail does legitimately good work, has a friendly and knowledgeable owner (Adam), and an honest crew. Even though I am only giving 5 Point Auto Detail 3 stars, I am comfortable recommending them to anyone because the company is run with integrity. My initial encounter with 5 Point Auto Detail was not promising. Mistakes were made. However, they were dealt with promptly and fairly. I did have a couple of issues that nag at me and keep me from bumping them up to 4 stars. After my initial car wash the car was given to me with a swirl pattern clearly visible in the paint. 5 Point Auto Detail explained to me that Hondas have thin paint and this happens. In spite of the fact that the pattern may not have been caused by 5 Point Auto Detail and the company did go above and beyond what they were required to do to address my concern, I am not sure how the pattern wasn't noticed prior to releasing the car to me. I also got the SunTek CXP Gold Package window tint installed. It doesn't look like the back window was washed after the tint was applied. My car also got a 3 stage polish as well as a Ceramic Pro Sport paint protection application. It looked awesome when I got it back. Ceramic Pro Sport is supposed to lessen the need for waxing the car for a year. Updates on this product will follow. I will use 5 Point Detail again. read more

World class service. A little bit more expensive but after you get your car back, you wont feel like you overpaid. Adam evaluated my car to see what kind of service would be appropriate for my needs. He gave me options and didn't try to upsell me. I was there prepared to spend over 150 but he told me that I didn't need a full exterior detail and would be extremely satisfied with just either a wash/wax or a wash/sealant job. I went with the wash/sealant. OH BOY WAS HE RIGHT. The car was meticulously done. Every inch of my car was clean. I've definitely never been that happy with getting my car cleaned. Car looked as good as if I were to have gotten a full detail elsewhere. Will be coming back regularly. I value businesses with honest and real people instead of sleaze balls. Chris and Eddie arrived at my house perfectly on time and were immediately very personable. My SUV had been detailed or waxed in 5 years. Although it is garaged at any time it is not being driven around town, there was a fair amount of wear to it. I should also mention that I have a 2 yr old that likes to snack in the car (enough said). The guys completed a TOTAL OVERHAUL of the interior, clay bar and coating on the exterior. It looks truly fantastic. Even on a scorching Escondido day from 1-3pm ,they worked their bums off! If I had to comment on any down side, my husband noticed that they didn't wash the tail pipe tips and there was a bit of wax residue in a couple areas of the door jams. But he's OCD with cars ;o} I would highly recommend them, and already have.....my best friend called at 9am the day after I had this done, for a run down on my satisfaction level. I went to 5 Point Mobile based on the reviews that I read here on Yelp. I was looking for a good car wash/detail that would take great care of my BMW. I love my car and am extremely OCD about it so I wanted to find a place that would do quality work for a reasonable price. And I didn't want any old car wash - I want my paint job to last as long as possible (I even have the teflon coating to make sure that the car looks brand new). I have to say that I have never encountered a business owner so professional, responsible, courteous, and committed to customer service as he is. I went into the 5 Point shop about three weeks ago to make an appointment for either a "San Diego" or a "5 Point" complete detail of my 2012 GTI. After discussing options, I settled in on a mobile detail appointment, and would see them in roughly a week. Fast forward - Friday came around and two gentlemen showed up at the office, ready to execute whichever detail I settled on. Ultimately, I chose the San Diego, as my car has been kept in good overall shape, and is regularly garaged. I also asked them to also apply a Teflon sealant on the vehicle in lieu of simpler wax coats. "No problem," was the answer I was provided with a smile. I went over the details with their representative, who also inquired about the interior - leather conditioning or plastic shine. I opted for the first - as leather conditioning is not something I typically do on my own regularly. As they set up shop in the midday sun, they pulled out a canopy to shield the car and provide some shade, ready to work their craft. Numerous coworkers passed by, likewise impressed at the professionalism, and inquired about future business opportunities. Three hours later I received the call to come down and grab my freshly cleaned ride. The work was gorgeous. The car shined brilliantly with the exterior clearly reflective, clad protectively in the Teflon. I plan to upgrade someday to a better sealant, but this has been an annual go to - just the right amount of tug and water repellent. Otherwise, the car sparkled - a beautifully executed job. I'd highly recommend them - proper professional shop with a great attitude and good quality work. I did knock off a star for a couple of things: 1 - The exhaust tips were not touched at all - and the carbon buildup was very noticeable given the rest of the car looking so clean. I'm not sure if that just was not covered, or was missed. I've used a bit of my own products on it to restore the chrome sheen a little bit, but was still disappointed. 2 - I also noticed that a small trim element on my driver side air vent was missing. The GTI has metallic inlays in the vent arm controls, and somehow this particular vent lost one. I looked throughout the vehicle, and was unable to locate it. To replace it - it will require a new vent housing, as the part is not sold on its own. Unfortunately, I lost the card for the Hispanic gentlemen who actually did the job. They were very courteous, and walked me through the process before executing, so I knew what to expect. read more

I took my car to 5 Point Auto Detail last week. It was in need of a very deep clean. They were awesome. Super friendly service and the car looks brand new. I am not joking when I say that I had to ask my boyfriend "Is that my car over there with the doors open?" I couldn't even recognize it! I'm not the kind of person who would post some cliche review either. They were able to take out years of spilled Starbucks and makeup. Thank god for 5 Point Auto Detailing! Can not say enough great things about these guys. They did an XPEL Ultimate wrap on my new Porsche GT3. High end cars need to be doen right, and these guys know what they are doing.
