I'm writing this review for both the wrap on my Rivian and the overall experience with the shop. Honestly, what got me in the door was the customer service. I've driven past this place countless times, and when I finally decided to wrap my Rivian, I reached out for a quote. Timing probably wasn't ideal since the owners were on a short vacation, but they still made the effort to follow up about a week later. That already said a lot to me. We ended up having a pretty long phone conversation--funny enough, not just about the wrap, but about life in general. By the end of that call, I felt confident I had found the right shop. Throughout the entire process--from picking the material to final installation--they were transparent, detail-oriented, and just genuinely honest. That kind of communication goes a long way, and I appreciated it. As for the wrap itself, it came out incredible. The matte satin finish on the Rivian looks exactly how I pictured it--if not better. The edges, corners, everything is clean and precise. I've seen enough wraps to know that even the best material can look bad with poor installation, and vice versa. In this case, they clearly nailed the prep and install because the final result speaks for itself. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone considering a wrap. Getting PPF done on our car through Autoshield was easy and stressfree from beginning to end. I am leaving this review to say that Eddy did an amazing job restoring the headlight covers on my Acura to their original mint condition. The irony is I didn't even know about his business and happened to just stumble into his showroom, asking about the whereabouts of another business in the area supposedly doing the same job (since the street addresses on Miramar road around his shop are kind of screwy). Rather than trying to dissuade me from going to the other business (the other business, a couple of blocks from him, being Ceramics Pro Elite), Eddy actually encouraged me to go there first. As it turned out, CPE was unable to do a good or even acceptable job; specifically, they told me that a water trace on the driver side headlight cover they were not able to remove had formed there from the inside of the cover (which made zero sense as I'm sure it never rains inside the headlight cover)! I then went back to Eddy at Auto Shield, and he removed the spot no problem as well as did a great job on both headlight covers. Eddy's also an amazingly kindhearted human being and I now consider him a friend. I also wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing any of the services he performs. I've lived in San Diego for about a decade and would consider myself an auto enthusiast, like most who would consider the services of Autoshield. I have had a few vehicles which I've had tinted and ceramic coated over the past few years. I've used a variety of shops in San Diego and interacted with most of the high end shops over the years. I wanted front XPEL PPF for my new SUV and found Autoshield as they are one of two XPEL dealers in SD. There are others which install XPEL, but without being authorized dealers. I am not certain if XPEL would honor their warranty, so I didn't go with those. Other non XPEL PPF don't have a proven track record, but may be okay. I looked around and the reason I chose Autoshield was the owners and the way they run their business - this was evident from my first call with them. As others have mentioned, Eddie and Samana are very hands on and very involved in the day to day work. Eddie took the time to call me back soon after my inquiry and went over all my options. He was very thorough but not at all pushy. It really felt like I was taking advice from a friend rather than getting sold something. A lot of places offer the same type of work and would likely do a good job, but had a lot going on with the family and wanted to get the work done with as little hassle and from a place I knew would stand behind their work if I needed it down the line. I carefully read the reviews for all the places I was considering and this place stood out. Most places have 5 star reviews but also a handful or really bad 1 star reviews. My gut feeling was that Eddie and Samana run their business with care and honesty. I had the sense that if I did need work or warranty claims down the line, they would remember me and treat me like a valued customer despite only meeting briefly. They answered all my questions and were responsive to texts. The work was done meticulously and in a timely manner as promised. They were even able to get me in during a busy time in the summer with only a few days notice. Their prices were similar to other shops in the area, and they were able to work with me a little bit since I did tint, PPF, and ceramic coating. I have been using PPF on all my personal vehicles since 1997. At that time there was not many places who installed PPF. I have used a lot of places in town and out of town since then but I have for the last ten years been solely using Eddie and his crew at Autoshield. No other company stands behind their work and product like Autoshield. In my line of business, I am in high end collision repair and PPF is a common place on our clients vehicles. Just purchased my new Volvo XC40 Recharge, and knew I wanted to get it protected and tinted. Did my due diligence and got quotes from several different shops around SD County for full front PPF and all around window tints. Eddie is insanely meticulous, and will do a great job of paint protection on your car, no matter how long it takes for him. Based on my friend's recommendation, I contacted Eddie for a ceramic coating for my new '18 Subaru WRX Limited. I decided to go with CQuartz Finest. After I dropped off the car, Eddie inspected it and let me know the car had lots of factory paint flaws, and that he would do his best to correct them before applying the CQuartz. It took about 3 days for Eddie to finish (including having a subcontractor tint the windows), and I was immensely satisfied with the result. I'm glad my friend referred me over. I went in for a paint correction and a few coats of ceramic. I ultimately decided against xpel but for those who are wondering- ceramic coating on top of xpel will provide a perfect gloss covering for your car which makes the car look gloss/wet/shiny indefinitely. Eddie reviewed the options with me very carefully and explained how the process worked. After seeing what was the best fit product for me, I decided to go with a special paint correction and two coats of ceramic. Communication was great and the work started the day I dropped off the car and was finished as promised. Tomorrow I am picking up my 2019 M5 Competition from Eddie. The comp version had just hit the states 1 week before I got it. I had it for 3 days and then right to Eddie it went. I keep breathing down his neck to see how it is going but he refuses to give it back to me until it is flawless. He has done a 2013 BMW 750i, 2016 Corvette Z07, 2016 BMW X5M for me already, so this is my fourth project with him! I know I drive him nuts because I am so meticulous about all my 3 cars. He does care for them well even though it does take a bit of extra time to get it right. This M5 Comp got the works. Summary: Very unprofessional: He did not finish the job properly and when asked to fix the issues he asked me to bring the car back multiple times, only to text me at the last minute asking to reschedule over and over again, hoping I would get tired of this and let things go. Full disclosure: The past year in April I brought my new to me Range Rover to Eddy to have the roof wrapped, since the clear coat was starting to peel. He did a decent job, even though he left a couple of bubbles on the rear section of the roof and on the top of the tailgate. He offered to fix them, but since the car was my new daily driver and the defect was not that visible I opted to keep it that way. Fast forward one year and the wrap on the roof started cracking everywhere. Since he originally told me that the wrap would last at least 3 to 5 years I contacted him back in May, showing him pictures of the roof and asking whether he offered a warranty on his work. He confirmed immediately that he would cover the roof again under warranty and we scheduled an appointment. Since in the meanwhile also the paint on the hood of the car had started to fade pretty bad, I also asked him to wrap the hood. Of course this was a new job and he gave me a new estimate for the work. He also offered to do a full wrap of the car at a very attractive price, however I politely declined since that was not an expense I had planned for. After having to reschedule the appointment because he didn't have any film available to do the work, I finally drop the car at his shop on a Saturday morning. While he originally told me he would have done it within the day, he texts me in the afternoon saying he would need more time. That was not a big problem so I agreed to leave the car over for the weekend. The following Monday afternoon he texts me confirming the car was ready and that I could pick it up anytime. When I went to pick up the car he was not at the shop, but only his assistant was there. I inspected the car and I found the work to be unacceptable: - The portion of the roof where the film was cracking had been wrapped in a different material from the rest, so that roughly half of the roof now has a different finish than the second half. While I could have accepted if the whole roof had been re-done in a slightly different material (given the original one did not hold up well) I definitely could not accept something that looked "patched up" - The warp that he applied on the hood showed a bad wrinkle in the middle, and was not even covering the whole hood! A large corner on the passenger side, close to the 'A' pillar had not been wrapped at all, and a poor choice of color for the wrap made the problem even more visible. Since I needed the car I picked it up, but I did not pay and I asked to speak with Eddy the following day. The next day I drove back to the shop and I confronted Eddy about the issues with the job and how I found it unacceptable. He tried to justify himself finding excuses, also trying to take his word back about having the roof fixed under warranty, by saying that "he was trying to help me out and he could have told me that he didn't offer any warranty". I answered saying that I don't need his help and I didn't even ever asked for it: all I asked for was a properly done job. Ultimately he agreed in re-doing the work again, but at my request of choosing the film for the wrap, he replied that he didn't have any samples to show me and he offered to have some samples shipped at my address. I reluctantly agreed and I gave him my address to have the samples shipped at my place. After one week I did not receive anything so I reached out to him again. This time he promised he would get the samples and I would be able to choose them the following week. Since then, I've been trying to schedule an appointment several times and each time he would text me or call me on the very day of the appointment, each time with a new excuse as to why he had to postpone my appointment again. Now, over one month later and tired of being jerked around accommodating these lies and unacceptable behavior I am writing this review, hoping it will help people to save their time and money and stay away from Eddy and his highly unprofessional business ethics. read more

I needed to replace the front bumper on my almost-new Lexus. It had to be completely removed and replaced with a new bumper assembly, and of course newly-painted. I also needed to have a new Ceramic Coating application over the new paint, and I needed to have it done ASAP in order to protect my new paint job. Since the body shop didn't do Ceramic Coating work, they referred me to Eddie at Autoshield. Eddie was able to schedule the job immediately, and at a fair price. He was also able to do it at my house, thereby eliminating any risk of driving the car before the Ceramic had time to fully-cure. Eddie and one of his employees showed-up on time and in less than 30 minutes left me with a Ceramic Finish that is clearly far superior to the original Lexus Dealer's application. The most important lesson I learned is to never again buy a Ceramic Coating option from a new car dealer.
