This is one of my favorite breweries in Denver, and I'm honestly a little ashamed of myself for not reviewing this place a long time ago. The second I stepped into this brewery, I knew it was a place for me. Cerebral? A psychology-themed brewery? Erudite? That has my name ALL OVER IT. Amazingly good beers - I've yet to have a bad one. They're always doing something new and different. Great space with lots of room inside and out. Small parking lot, but lots of bike parking (don't drunk bike, kids - stick to a few tasters). Usually a solid food truck in front, and also a Mexican restaurant next door for take-out. It's never terribly loud, and well-behaved children and dogs are welcome here. Although the name screams intelligent elitism, the vibe is very laid back and approachable. The folks who work here are very nice and happy to answer questions about their beer. They also have a little holiday party with a Santa every year, which is cute. My kid was pretty tickled to watch Santa pony up to the bar and have a beer after her photo. One of the top breweries in Denver. I often take out-of-towners here, and it never fails to impress. read more

First time here. The beer tender did not steer me wrong. Both beers that I had were excellent. Can't wait to come back and try more.

We were very excited to visit Cerebral. But our visit was just ok. The beer was great, the service was not. There were only a few other people there the afternoon we visited as it was unseasonably cool. The server that came, took our order, brought our drinks and that was the last we saw of him. No check in to see how we were, no offer to bring another round, nothing. We had planned to try a few beers since we're from out of state, but no luck. The most upsetting part was when my friend went inside to purchase a tshirt. There were a limited number of sizes so he went to the bar to ask if they had the size he was looking for. The response he received from the employee was, "you know that's a women's shirt." Um, ya what does it matter to you?? Wow, sad to say we did not feel the great vibe everyone told us this place has. 3 stars for the beer, zero stars for the staff. read more

Our Airbnb we rented for a bachelorette trip is right across from Cerebral, so we walked over the first night of our trip to check it out. The place was very busy, and for good reasons. They had an excellent variety of beer, the staff was friendly, the decor is homey, no complaints. I recommend going a little earlier to get tables, but there are community tables, so we combined with another group and everything was okay. They have food trucks outside, one I saw was vegetarian friendly! Only downfall is the parking situation, the lot couldn't hold more than maybe 8 cars. Still worth it! The beer was delicious, the atmosphere was cool, and I loved all the messages about kindness and tolerance. I wish the staff would've adhered to some of those messages. Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Pretty busy when we got there. Was able to sit at the bar. Noticed all but one beer was either an IPA or Saison. Out of like 10 beers, they had 1 dark beer. It was a coconut chocolate stout. The person I was with doesn't like IPAs or coconut so there was really nothing for her to order. Bartender was friendly. Beer was decent. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite Denver breweries. Great local spot that makes amazing beers, has cool collabs and great service. Their somewhat geeky scientific concept is super entertaining and they maintain the theme well throughout the taproom. The space is pretty large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They often have food trucks, so make sure to check their calender. If you come on weekends, they regularly have can releases so you can check for likely new beers that will be in the taproom/available. read more

I've been here twice in the past month or so. The first time they had alot of IPAs on the board along with a few saison and sour. This visit there were a couple APAs and some fun sours and a very funky("farmyard" aromas) saison fermented with 100% brett. I tried the saison, and a pink hued fruit sour, and wrapped up with a cloudy APA. Everything was drinkable, but I prefer the somewhat rarer saisons and sours. Maybe I should have started with the APA instead of finishing with it, because after the funky saison and sharp sour it seemed pretty pedestrian. All in all I really appreciate the diverse tap offerings, they are addressing my tastes with the saisons and sours but if you like hops they have beers for you too! They have beers available to go in 4 packs, they also have one of those on-demand canning machines if you want to grab something on-tap to go. Staff is friendly. the indoor drinking area is relatively large and uncluttered. Small deck for outside sipping as well. They have a small parking lot that I would guess can accommodate around ten vehicles. Cheers! read more

This brewery can do no wrong! Their beers are simply phenomenal. They've got the hazy East-coast IPA style down, and they produce some mouth-watering stouts you don't want to miss. Stopped by here on a whim because it's close by and sometimes you just need a beer on a Wednesday. I didn't spend a long time here, because I had plans with friends, but the service was quick, the ambience was cool, and the beer was fresh and tasty. Great brewery! It's kind of hidden from the main road but we found it while on a walk one day and had to stop in. My hubby and I shared a flight of 4 beers: Lens Flare, Rare Trait, Alternative Facts and Nightglow. They were all great but we loved the porter, Nightglow the best. We look forward to coming back here as it's in the neighborhood and has a great looking patio that will be fun in the summer! read more

Cerebral is the closest brewery to my residence and I am very thankful for this. They are certainly a solid brewery and have been putting out some great beers. Although I've tasted a few brews that I haven't been a fan of, I'd say the majority of them are very good including Dark Galaxie - oatmeal stout, Nightglow - porter, Rare Trait - IPA, and Ancient Ruins - imperial stout. They also have a crowler machine which is a nice touch; however as far as I know they don't do growler fills. They have several games you can play, along with science flare on display. You can also order take-out from Humble Pies which is right next door. Once you've gotten your fill of beer here, you have the option to bar hop to any number of places for a drink on Colfax Ave. which include some nice and some not-so-nice dive bars. This can make for a fun night out on the town. But don't say I didn't warn ya. read more

I would rate this 3 stars, however, I personally did not like the taste of the majority of the beers that I got with my flight. Private parking lot? Near my hood? Pies galore next door? I'm in. Came on a Saturday and was surprised at how packed it was. No worries, tons of seating inside and out. Beers on tap were delicious and there was even a food truck outside and humble pie next door if you needed a bite. My only complaint is that this has obviously turned into a family friendly brewery (not kidding, there were about 8 babies there) but there are no high chairs! Get some high chairs and the parents will stay longer and drink! $$$$ people!! read more

I have been wanting to visit Cerebral for a while now...finally got the chance during GABF week this year! It was a little busy on a Tuesday at 4pm but not packed. I was able to get a beer pretty quick and a table with friends. They had a special release glass that day so that was pretty awesome. I had a full pour of rare trait...DAMN it was good! I also sipped a couple other beers as well. I must say I am not the biggest IPA fan but these guys really know how to make some really good hoppy beers. The interior is your usual taproom setup. Pretty big main bar and plenty of seating. Also has a nice patio as well. I must say...their logo is probably one of my favorite brewery logos. Hop cone/brain combo. So awesome! Hi, my name is Mateo E, and I'm a beer snob. With that out of the way, let me sing the praises of Cerebral. I found this place in early 2016 and wish it had been earlier. Cerebral belongs in the upper echelon of Denver and CO breweries when considering stouts and NE style IPAs. Saisons, pales, and sours also rate well. They consistently churn out innovative quality brews, driving the evolution of the brewing scene in Denver. Darwin would be proud. Besides making stellar suds, Cerebral's a great place to hang out. Staff are generally friendly and unless it's packed to the gills for a can/bottle release, there's plenty of seating--bar, tables high & low, and on the cozy patio. Go with friends or go alone--you'll find yourself in a lively conversation if that's what you're looking for. If you're a hophead, start with the flagship Rare Trait. When available, the DDH version of this tastes sublime. In fact, any of their DDH IPAs will illustrate the difference between an elite brewer and mainstream "craft." Stout fans should be thrilled with any of the Ancient Ruins or Here Be Monsters series. Cons? Parking can be tough and when it's crowded, getting served can present a challenge. Denver's fortunate to have this kind of beer in a friendly neighborhood setting. Plus, who else serves small pours in laboratory glassware? 4.5/5 stars. read more

I came by to check this place out as they just opened. The space was very open and had a good amount of seating. I tried their coffee oatmeal stout, IPA, and gose. Their stout had a nice toasty flavor and rich body. The gose was spot on and had a nice balance of salt and tang. The IPA tasted a bit off to me and seemed a bit watery, but that might have been affected by my other beer choices. The staff were friendly and all seemed super excited. I loved the little sampler beakers! They had loads more taps on the wall, so I look forward to seeing how they'll evolve. read more

Overall, your staff was not friendly. There are so many craft breweries in the metro Denver area. If you really want to stand out and have loyal patrons, I would suggest being more friendly! I get it, quality Breet is the main reason. When we go to Golden, we feel the love so much more. We drove 30 minutes (from aMorrison) to try you out. Probably won't be back... and could possibly recommend other breweries before you. Just want to be honest because I see potential here. You will get your neighborhood folks but not the enthusiasts further away. Vegan Van is the BOMB by the way!! I would go anywhere they were. If you allowed Dogs inside, that would be a plus too! I want to add some tremendous post-sale customer service too! The following day I noticed my card was way overcharged for our drinks. I called and was told to reach out to Sterling Hall. Sterling runs Cerebral. He got back to me within 24 hrs with a credit and a very genuine apology for the mixup. Stopped in with a friend on Sunday to grab a drink and some food from the Vegan van parked outside. They have a couple of food trucks in rotation but the vegan van is the best! This close to home for me and tucked behind machete and humble pie. The space feels warm and inviting. Lots of seating and a cute patio out front. Parking can be tough in this neighborhood but they do have a small lot onsite. Full disclosure, I am not a beer drinker. I don't care for it. My friend got one of the stouts and enjoyed it. I really wanted to have a drink with her, but they only serve beer and a few Mexican sodas. I really wish there was an option for the companions of the beer drinkers. I would spend a lot more time and $ at this place. I understand it's a whole other license for other alcohol, but maybe even just ice tea, lemonade, a row of bottled drinks in the cooler? read more
