Mark just completed painting our 3000+ square foot stucco home. He estimated it would only take a week, but due to rain he had to end early many days, setting him behind schedule. So it ended up taking Mark an entire two weeks, but he never seemed rushed or frustrated by the extended project. I'm really grateful he took the time necessary to get the job done right, despite the weather. Mark is SO meticulous; my house looks completely transformed and all of his paint lines are absolutely perfect. I'll add, his quote was the best of anyone I reached out to! We chose Mark to paint the exterior of our house and there's a reason it takes a few months to get on his schedule, he does a thorough job, doesn't cut corners and a perfectionist. He removed all of the light fixtures, downspouts and even the doorknobs of the doors he painted. There was paint everywhere it should be, and none where it shouldn't be when he was done. He's an unassuming guy who's genuinely nice and does his job with regard for your personal property, which doesn't always happen with construction projects, leaving our house as he found it (but with new paint!). He suggested some trim paint ideas and I was grateful he found a compromise between what my wife wanted and what I thought. We were all happy as a result. You might pay a little more for his services than the paint "crews" around, but you get customer service back ten-fold. Worth it to us. Definitely five-star. read more

I needed house wood trim to be re-painted as it was showing wear, and his bid was fair and better than others I received. He was prompt, efficient and did great prep work to scrape the old chipped paint. He did an excellent job painting our trim. The Yelp reviews lead me to Mark Silva, The Painter . I had gotten several other bids for painting the exterior of my home which I found confusing while comparing prices. Mark gave me a very affordable quote. But should I take the lowest bid? I chose Mark based on yelp reviews, affordability, and overall impression of Mark. He was able to start the job within a week's time and showed up promptly. The week that Mark painted for us, was the hottest July on record reaching 105* degrees but that didn't deter or slow him down! First he started by pressure washing the house to clean the surface for paint. We had to replace some of the fascia board which then needed to be caulked before being painted. Mark told us he was more than willing to do that for us. He scraped, nailed all the trim and siding as needed, and then re-caulked everything. Mark is very knowledgeable regarding paints, quality of the paints, colors, and coverage. We had no idea there was any difference in the quality of paint coverage based on pigment added for different colors. Mark told us the white we had chosen for the body of the house would take more paint and number of coats that he would need to apply. Who knew?! We didn't understand until he started painting. Sure enough, he had to apply paint 3-4 coats to get the even coverage. Even though this cost him more in his labor and paint, he stayed true to his bid. So here's my tip: Mark knows what he's talking about after 30 yrs in the business, so listen to him when he try's to explain it to you. I can say without hesitation Mark is extremely knowledgeable, competent, efficient, and incredibly honest. I so appreciated was his willingness to share his insight and experience concerning house colors and trim. He was right on. WONDERFUL man, wonderful job on our house. My wife and I recently bought a home in Sparks and wanted to have the interior repainted and kitchen cabinets varnished prior to moving in. Previous owners did the typical quick job and lousy patches on ceilings and walls before movinng. Living out of town, we had to put our trust in someone who would do the work without someone there all the time. We searched Yelp and saw the awesome reviews for Mark " The Painter " that we had to give him a try. We scheduled an appointment when we were in town and he showed up as promised. I had lived in Sparks for 1 week and was referred to The Painter by the man installing my new floors. Best referral for any service I ever gotten! Mark was on time for the appointment to look over the job, emailed me the estimate later that evening, showed up to work when he said he would and finished the job on time. The work he did is stunning- just beautiful. I have lived most of my life having friends or, friends of friends do work on my house. This has almost always proven to go really bad for us... so when I started getting bids for a house painter I still had this weird feeling that I was going to have to "check in" on the progress constantly. Definitely not the case with Mark. I also like knowing that a skilled tradesman will do what needs to be done without me having to know exactly what is entailed in painting a house. Mark surely knows his stuff. He started with a quick pressure washing to remove large peeling, then he actually manually scraped the entire house. He then sprayed a rubberized sealing primer and then caulked everything. This may be a normal way to paint a house but I had never seen it before... but OH MAN was I impressed. There's nothing quite like thinking that when your house has been painted it's like water tight and everything on the outside is sealed and keeping you all safe and fuzzy on the inside. After all was said and done, everyday I drove home I would see amazing progress on my house. I'm a control freak, so knowing things are just being done, and done right is huge to me. All of this was happening without me having to ask about this or that or if he was going to do this part or make sure you get this done too. It was all handled the way a professional would handle things... professionally. My house looks absolutely beautiful. we went from a light color to a bold dark color scheme. This is also scary for me. You can paint the inside of your house and figure that you made a huge mistake and it's only a select few that know about your hideous color choice... the outside of your house is a completely different story. Your color choices have the potential to set you apart as the total jerk of the neighborhood who painted their house "THAT COLOR" Fortunately for us, we chose wisely and the house turned out beautiful... absolutely beautiful. The trim is crisp, the lines are tight, everything is even and beautifully saturated. It has changed our outlook on this house for sure. Thank you Mark for your hard work and your expertise, it really is appreciated in this world of entitlement. You renewed our faith in humanity and the workforce.
