They quoted me $85 for two smaller area rugs over the phone that just needed to be freshened up. There's no stains on them or anything like that they just need to be freshened up. Well their technicians showed up at my house looked around told me that he wasn't going to move any furniture off of the rugs, which was fine, but then turned around and told me that it was going to be $585 to clean what was exposed. We went from $85 to $585 for two area rugs that are about eight by five only with furniture on them there's maybe a total of two or three feet exposed. after speaking with their manager and explaining to him the situation he told me then that he would be happy to work for me or with me rather and that he was willing to charge me the low low rate of just $254. I called one of their competitors locally when he was speaking to his boss in the phone and the lady told me that this company is a scammer company and that she could do a full carpet cleaning on the same area rugs for $95. I told them my carpet was dirty. They gave me a price of $90.00. They did not tell me any any thing else. The man came with a carpet cleaner you could rent in a hardware store. He went in the room and said nothing, just started to clean the rug. He finished and brought his cleaner out, I went back and saw the rug. Other than it was wet it looked the like same dirty rug. He told me it only cleans surface dirt and not heavy dirt. When he saw the rug he should of told me it would not clean the rug, but he said nothing. I called the company for a refund. This is a scam. Unprofessional and ruined furniture they shouldn't have touched. First, I tried to call a company who had great reviews and the way they are advertising online, it makes them look like a local company and it's not and they intercepted my call, so the business I intended to call turned out to be their line. Unethical advertising practices. They came out promising to clean couch upholstery and a rug. They quoted a different price on the phone than what they charged me (charged more - almost double), they didn't clean anything, just wet everything with dirty water. They didn't move the coffee table to clean the rug underneath it, so got the wood wet. When I complained to the technician, he proceeded to take his fingernail and scratch the finish off my brand new wood table claiming it would fix it. It is now permanently ruined. Also, all they did was wet the furniture and flip the cushions to the clean side. The furniture and rugs are not clean. I've called to complain as I deserve a refund and a replacement of the coffee table, they said they would send a manager out to assess the damages. The technician called me back to threaten me for logging a complaint in the meantime. Today is the day the manager was supposed to arrive - something I confirmed twice by phone and by email. They didn't send a manager, they sent another technician to "re-do" the job. I am giving it ONE star (because it will not allow less) not because of the cleaning itself, but because of what happened as a result of the equipment that they use. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! I used Certified Green Team to clean my air ducts, big mistake, first they are scammers, advertise $29.99 per vent but then switch to the "deeper clean" pitch which seems to be there standard pitch. I was quoted $350 on the phone, when they arrived the guy said it would be $1600, I said no that was too much, then he said $1000, at this point I should have gone with my gut and showed them the door but I said ok.  Then when they went out to their unmarked car and grabbed a shop vac and a whip on the end of a pneumatic tool I knew I made a mistake for sure. They don't have professional equipment that they advertise.  One guy was in the vent with the whip while the other stood with the shop vac in the air trying to catch dust particles, not an effective strategy, the dust went all over the place, I ended up cleaning it up myself because I didn't trust them at all.  They didn't have any protective gear on, no face mask, they kept their shoes on, and then asked to run the charge for payment  before the job was done before his phone lost power ! Don't use this company I think they are fly by night scammers, definitely not a professional organization, when you call to try and speak to the owner, I think his name is Vic, he is ignorant and rude, he actually lied about his name, terrible!!! This is the worst company I have ever encountered in my life! The technician which they sent to my home behaved like an actual criminal! My mother scheduled an appointment to have our clothes dryer vent cleaned. It is not blowing hot air as effectively as it should. The initial appointment was scheduled for 10/12/21, between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. However, my mother received a call from the company stating that they needed to reschedule the appointment because the technician had a family emergency. A new appointment was scheduled for 10/14/21, between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The technician did not show up during the scheduled arrival time. He called my mother at 3:54 pm and identified himself as "Mike". He told her he would arrive within 30 minutes. He arrived at 4:34 pm. He parked in my driveway without permission. I live in the house with my mother and my adult son. I remained upstairs with my dog. The technician went into my basement with my mother and son. Approximately five minutes later, I heard screaming coming from the basement. My mother and son were telling the technician to leave my house. The technician refused to leave, stating that he was going to call the cops. I opened the interior door which leads to the back door of my house. I asked the technician what the problem was. He said, "There's no problem". I then told him to get out of my house as I was concerned for my family's safety. He remained facing my mother, who is 82 years old. He was standing dangerously close to her in a menacing way. The technician then shouted at me, " Do you want to get involved in this too, now?!" I asked him if he was threatening me. He said, " I'm not threatening you" but would not leave my home. I approached him and stood between him and my mother. I told him repeatedly to get out of my house. He refused. He stood in my doorway. He held the door open with this left foot and held onto the door with his left hand. He held a cell phone in his right hand. He told me, " You know, I'm filming all of you!". My son again told him to get out of our house. He refused. He then threatened me, stating " You don't know who you are dealing with! You will find out! You will be sorry! Do you know who the owner of this company is? You will find out and you will be sorry!" I told him I didn't care who the owner of the company was and continued shouting at him to get out of my house. I then told him, " How about if I call the cops?" He still refused to leave for a few moments but then finally released his hold on my door and left. I called 911 and informed the operator about what had just occurred. Two patrol cars were dispatched from the 109th precinct, which is the local police precinct in Flushing, Queens, New York. I described the situation to the police. I provided a description of the technician who had only identified himself as "Mike". The officers filed a police report for harassment. I also provided the officers with the Certified Green Team company information. I called the Certified Green Team company today, 12/15/21, at (917) 671-0667. I spoke with a woman named Irene. She was polite and professional, the only person we've encountered who is. I explained the entire situation to her, including the information I had later learned from my mother and son. That information is as follows: The quoted price my mother had been given by the company to clean the dryer vent was $79.99. However, the technician (Mike) told my mother and son that the work would cost over two hundred dollars, and cited multiple price options which were all in excess of the only quoted price from the company of $79.99. My mother told him that she was not told anything about an additional charge by the company and did not want the repair done. "Mike" then said she must still pay him a $49.00 service fee just for inspecting the dryer. My mother said she was never told anything about a service fee and would not pay him anything. She told him to leave the house. He began walking up the stairs to the back door but continued arguing with her and my son and then refused to leave. As my conversation with Irene came to a close, she told me that she would relay the description of the incident with "Mike" to her Technician Manager. I asked her what the Technician Manager's name was. She told me she didn't know the Technician Manager's name. I repeated my question again. She became briefly quiet and then told me she didn't know his name and only communicated with him through E-mail. I found this to be unlikely, however, I didn't argue the point. I simply thanked Irene for her time and hung up. I only wished my mother had checked the reviews of this abominable company before scheduling the appointment. I found this company on the internet. didn't check reviews, Wish I had. I asked for carpet cleaning due to pet odor. the tech came out, had 1 quote and new quote for 4x's the original. No PPE for corona as advertised. Agreed to a price and he asked for a tip. Carpet looked clean after, but still had the odor and it was worse. Called CGT back, told them the issue. They said they would do an diff process for the odor. I dind't want the same tech, but they said i had to have him. He came, what i observed was unbelieveable: 1. still not ppe 2. added a couple of inches of cleaning soln to a bucket and TOSSED the fluid on the carpet where the issue is. 3 using my scrub brush he brushed the solution around. and was going to leave the wet mess. 4. he then proceeded to take out the equipment, went into my master bath to fill the bucket and came into the house to plug in the machine.. neither time asking me.. There were hoses and outlets in the garage that were clearly visible..scared me to pieces. 5. proceeded to clean. . he used the same soluntion he did the first time.. really, it didn't work so why use it again. He was supposed to do a diff process. needless to say.. carpet still smells! Filed a complaint w/ BBB of Mass and am working on small claims w/ triple damages. Always ask what a service entails and how different tiers of services differ. How else would you know what you actually need and what you're getting? Also check against EPA standard if one exists. When the quote given on the phone differed from the quote given on day of ($200 vs $450), be okay with asking for more time to think about it. No need to feel bad about that. 5. Ask for itemized receipt. When the itemized quote given verbally on site didn't match the final cost charged, it's fine to stand there and recalculate it or ask for clarification if you have questions about the charge. As for our experience, we got a quote over the phone for dryer vent cleaning on 2F (89.99 for first 5 ft) and air duct cleaning (29.99 per vent with 15% off discount applied at the end; we had 8 vents). I specifically mentioned the dryer vent will be high on second floor and they ensured me over phone that the technician will come with ladder. On the day of, the technician came 45 min after the end of scheduled time window, though he did call us 10 minutes before the end of the time window to let us know he will be late. The technician who came was very friendly and courteous, and after we gave him a walkthrough of our vents, he told us he did not have a tall enough ladder for the dryer vent (understandable) and upsold us "deep clean" for our air ducts at $55 per vent. This was not listed on the website as an option, but sure, why not because this is the first time we are getting it cleaned in 2 years. Not sure if this is standard for "deep clean", but the whole thing took about an hour and he stuck a professional looking vacuum into our air duct. No covering or anything was used to protect our furnishings or floor (per EPA standard). He was also trying to wash one of our dirty vent cover with hand soap, and my husband ended up washing it. Guy also told me that he accepts cash or check - no mention of credit card like the site claims. Mask, shoe cover, and gloves were NOT worn, despite what the website claims ("We wear masks, gloves, shoe covers, and maintain social distancing.") There are also discrepancies on the same webpage as of today about the use of subcontractors ("We don't sub-contract any job", and then later in fine print, "Jobs may be sub-contracted and not performed by Certified Green Team."). I called the certified Green team to clean my hall and stairs and they sent a nice gentleman out who measured and give me my discount and attempted to clean the carpets but his machine broke. He said he would be back the next day with a larger machine but another couple showed up the next morning and their machine broke but they returned with this similar machine and worked for about an hour and said they were finished and wanted me to sign the documents. I inspected the cleaning and found too many dirty spots of which we have pictures I told him it washed unsatisfactory and also called their office who I asked to return the call. Since they did not return with a larger machine and stayed for such a short period on a $200 job it is no wonder that I have dirty spots remaining I could have done this job myself with these spots but I wanted a professional company. I called today and they did not know who I was even though I had asked for a return call after waiting for the carpet to dry last afternoon. If this is their service, you should keep looking for a company with larger machines (perhaps the ones with the machine and the van that can clean carpets. They did not respond to BBB. If you want your carpets cleaned, you can do a better job yourself by renting a better machine and doing it right. Check out their low ratings. Like so many others here I wish I read these reviews before hiring these people. I was in a panic because I had water in my basement and really should have taken a deep breath and done some research. I was TOTALLY OVERCHARGED for what was done. Basically all they did was come in with a shop vac and left some fans and a dehumidifier. They did not lift up any of the carpet pad before they left (if you read their website it states they will remove anything that is not salvageable, obviously water soaked carpet padding is exactly that!) There was absolutely no way it was going to dry, I'm a single woman and ended up tearing it all out on my own after they left. Then they missed their appointment to pick up the equipment 72hrs later. We called the company and the technician came back to clean the stains. He wasn't able to fully remove the stains and our wool carpet looks much worse than before cleaning it through Certified Green Team. We contacted the technician again but he said we have to talk to the manager. We literally called six times and waited on hold for hours because they promised every day to call us back. On the last call, the secretary Karen even laughed at us, maybe she thought we are so stupid to call again or because we have a foreign accent. They treat us so badly. I think this is the first bad review I have ever in my life written. However, I need to caution others about using this company. A technician came to our townhouse to clean our dryer vent. This was just precautionary maintenance- the dryer was working fine. First, the banging he created seemed highly unusual - it sounded like he was slamming the vent up and down to get it cleaned out. The dryer worked for two loads, but now is giving us a message that the vent is clogged, which has never happened before, so of course we stopped using it. It is Friday afternoon, but we are told by the company that no one can be here until Monday morning! They don't have any technicians who can come after hours or on the weekend when the problem was their doing. Add insult to injury, they tried to give me a time window for Monday! I said absolutely not - we should be the first appointment and the representative did comply. I understand that things can happen with servicing, but I expect a service company to provide after hours or weekend follow up if they are unable to successfully complete the job. read more

After they completed my downstairs couch I went down to look at the job and there was huge puddles all over my floor along with stains still in the cushions that I just was told were going to be deep cleaned. After they finished the upstairs furniture I came up to even bigger puddles and more furniture that was barely cleaned. They were in and out in about 30 minutes and they scratched my floors/stairs. When I mentioned all of this to the technician - he told me I was cheap and that I should just rip up my entire house because I was cheap and everything in it costs $2's. I don't usually leave reviews like this but after being treated terribly and having my brand new home banged up I am just mind blown that a company can run like that. I hope they are able to give future customers a better experience and that they can teach these techs how to treat customers as well as their property. I recently received a quote to clean 2chairs and an ottoman which had custom slipcovers. I was for furniture given to my daughter for her new condo. I indicated the furniture had slip covers and I just wanted them cleaned and protectant applied. The quote was for $130.00. When the technician arrived he recommended to my daughter a deep clean which was $250 . She was unaware of the quote I was given and the discussion of what I asked to be done. When I called to discuss the charge differential, I was not allowed to speak with the owner and was told there would be no compromise and an abrupt hang up. I wish I had read the reviews before my cleaning appointment today. Basically I had the same 'bait and switch' experience. One quote was given over the phone (apx $260 for two basement carpets, 11 stairs, a sofa, and a loveseat) , and then when the tech arrived they gave me a higher price for 'deep cleaning' - $400. He said that the difference was that 'steam cleaning' was for lighter jobs where carpets are done every 6 months (who does that?) - they only use one gallon of solution. But for 'deep cleaning' they use 6 gallons of solution and it is designed for heavier trafficked/less often cleaned stuff (do you even need 6 gallons of solution to clean 2 carpets?). I pointed out that this was not described in the call, and the tech was like 'I'm just the tech, usually they explain it on the phone." Clearly that is a lie (based on the reviews here) and they are just using a 'bait and switch' tactic to get in the door. I almost just told him to leave (I'm assuming that this tactic is why he called and asked to come earlier in the day - someone else probably said thanks but no thanks after they tried this crap), but I did still need the darn carpets cleaned, so I said 'forget the sofas, give me a quote just to deep clean the carpets and the stairs' which was $265. The cleaning was ok - took him maybe 45 minutes, but the solution smell was very strong, and I had to make a fuss to get him to slide the couches over and clean under them. I also thought it was odd that he was just using buckets of hot water from my kitchen tap. I don't know if the machine he had actually steamed anything the way some of the more professional services i have seen do (where they connect a hose back to the truck). The carpet seems to be drying ok also (no huge puddles or damage or anything like some of the other reviewers have experienced). Despite paying extra for the 'deep clean' there are still some stains. Overall, I am glad I did not entrust high value carpets or expensive furniture to this company and I was very agitated by the bait and switch tactic - it made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. Not worth it. Their "green" cleaning products don't work as much as a chemical cleaner does. Had my carpet cleaned and none of the stains came out. Tech rushed through it as well and said he would be about 45 minutes to an hour and left in about 25. I called to have a re-do and they scheduled me and tech never showed up. They also don't offer refunds. Go with a better company and don't waste your time their customer service is deplorable. read more

If 0 starts could be given, they'd have it. The Call Center Rep. was nice. She got all of our details and answered all of my questions. The appt was set up for 1p to 2p. The guys calls me at 12p confirming the appt then doesn't show up until 2:20p?!? In a Ram?!? This rug is a 9x12 and it's raining...where does this guy think the rug is going to go?!? Then he has an attitude trying to say the charge is going to be more because of a stain on the bottom of the rug?!? Long story short- I told the guy to leave without my rug. Got written and verbal estimate of $160 for sanitizing and disinfecting rug. Commented in email and over phone call that rug had a mouse nest in it during storage. Phone representative assured me it would be sanitized and disinfected for $160. The driver came to get the rug and quoted $629. I argued, he called his boss and then said because of the "mix-up" he could do $369. I told him that was bait and switch and a scam. He left without the rug. I called Dawn at Certified Green Team and she had no explanation, only an apology for the misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding. I was lied to. Absolutely terrible service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was quoted a price of $180 to clean a sofa that is 18 months old with upgraded sunbrella fabric and an 8 X 10 ivory wool rug. The moment the guy arrived, he tried to upsell me to $250 plus. Stating that the $180 amount would actually no clean the sofa or the rug and it would not last. I told him - I wanted to go with the $180 as quoted. He continued to try and upsell me. I asked him to clean it or leave. He did - the sofa is dirtier than before he came. The rug was completely soaked - took a week to dry - even when I put it outside. I called the company and sent pictures. No call back and no refund. I am starting to think this is some kind of scam. The gentleman came looked at one of my carpets and decided that the $90 (I was having 3 rooms done) I thought I was going to pay would now be $499, and he need to deep clean. I asked him to just do the $90 job on one room and then I would see. He refused and kept saying $499 deep clean. Now at this time, I had 3 rooms of furniture emptied and placed in my kitchen. My house was in disarray, which I felt he knew he had me backed into a corner. I kept saying "no" but then got on his phone, and what seemed like a blatant fake call, quoted me $370, but it should be in cash. Red flag right? Not to this idiot (me) who was just thinking how I was going to function with my house in the state it was in. He cleaned the carpet, it didn't seem like any extra "deep cleaning" was taking place. He did mention that I could tip him, and it would be okay. The carpets looked decent. When he was packing up his equipment, he pulled one of the hoses and water streamed from it and dumped on my carpet. I pointed it out to him, and he said it would be okay. No. I said, you need to vacuum that up. He did, begrudgingly. When all the equipment was packed away, he came and looked at me. We did an awkward eye exchange for several seconds and I they said "receipt?" He went to his truck and brought back a blank receipt and asked me to fill it out. I FILLED OUT MY OWN RECEIPT!! After he left, the whole transaction didn't sit well with me. I called the company and asked them about their deep cleaning process, because even right now, I am fairly sure I was scammed. The employee told me she would have someone call me in the next 24 to 48 hours. The call never came. 3 weeks later, I called them again. They left me on hold and then hung up. I called back one more time and told them I would leave an honest review everywhere I possible could, and here we are. I am sorry to the gentleman that had the same issue a week ago, the if I had this review in place, maybe I could have prevented his angst. But he got taken for only $270. They love the price with the 70 in it. What did I do wrong and how can you prevent this from happening to you? 1. If they say deep cleaning, more money, ask to talk to whomever the technician has on the phone. I don't believe it was a real call. 2. Stick to the price quoted or just refuse the service. I am 98% sure I was scammed and will never know for sure since the company is now not responding to me at all. So many red flags. Red flags attract idiots. The idiot is me. read more
