I was scammed by a company called Certified Green Team out of Waltham. I was quoted $219. To steam clean 2 sofas a chair and an ottoman by phone. When the man came to clean he told us steam cleaning would not clean the furniture it would just get rid of orders. He said if we wanted the furniture to look clean we would have to pay over $500. After some haggling back and fourth he came down to $429.99 I am embarrassed at my own foolishness agreeing to this. After the cleaning the furniture is no cleaner than it was before. I called the company to complain and they told me they would send me an email link to use to send pictures so they could address the problem. The email never came. I just said "ta-ta" to the technician, and came right to yelp to see what others had to say. I wish I had done that before I sent the rugs, but (I thought?) it was a company I had worked with a few years ago to clean my couch and rugs. I had exactly the same experience as everyone else here: bait & switch. I fostered a dog who left some steaming heaps on one of my smaller area rugs (2' x 7')in the back of the house. I cleaned the obvious material but wanted to have the rug cleaned and called Certified Green. I was quoted a $149 minimum (fair enough, for a small job) for the one rug. I decided to get a second, nearby area rug (2' x 4') cleaned as well, thinking maybe the dog had peed on it, and to try to make the most of the minimum I was paying, and they said the 2 of them would be $300. I'm not sure how that math worked; it seems they were charging the minimum of $149 for each rug, not a minimum for one and then the regular price for a second. In any event, I decide I'd go with it because I really wanted to get the rugs cleaned. The technician arrived and saw that the rugs are Persian (not antiques, just Persian rugs) and he's like, "ohhhh, Persian, that's going to cost more...I have one in my truck that's going to cost them $8,000!!". I laughed (nervously) and said, "well, I'm not paying anything close to that", and he hit me with his price - $800. I just said, "Are you crazy? The store just quoted me $300!". We went through the dance, with him saying it needed the deep cleaning and sanitation and blah blah blah, and I just said, "no, I'm not paying that". He came down to $500. I said, "NO! I was quoted $300!! I'll just clean it myself". So then he comes down to $350 - AND ADDS A GRATUITY FOR HIMSELF "for me". Today he came with the rugs and dragged the 2 small plastic roll-ups into my kitchen. I said, "Are you going to put them back for me". Well of course he wasn't, to which I said, "Are you kidding??". He mumbled something about COVID (which is ridiculous bc we both have masks on, than the room is 30 feet away from me). So I asked if he could take the [plastic since it was too big for my trash and he said, "oh, no, I don't have room..." - to take a ball of plastic wrap in his VAN?? So when he left I tried to drag the longer rug into the room. I stepped on the dragging end and fell hard on the floor, hurting my knee, upper leg, and my elbow. They suck!! I hired Certified Green Team to inspect, service and clean my wood burning stove for $99. After scheduling an appointment, I called back to verify that the technicians were CSIA certified and was told that each technician is certified. On the day of the appointment I found out that "technician - David @ +13479677899 and another number +19176099635" doesn't work for Certified Green Team and that the company that he works for "contracts" work from them. I was required to sign paperwork and pay prior to receiving the service. He claimed he did a "visual inspection" and everything looked good and he just needed to put a brush to sweep the flue and then clean inside the actual stove. He tried 3 different type/size brushes and he couldn't get inside the flue. It was clear that he didn't know what he was doing. He kept stepping outside to make calls. During the "service", he keep taking his stuff out and quickly taking it to his van. He came in with a vacuum and vacuumed inside the stove and sat the hose near the flue and let it run. Went outside and made another call. He finally came back in and quickly turned the vacuum off and tried to quickly leave. I asked him about not completing the service then he stated "I'm not supposed to tell you this! I am shaking because my supervisor yelled at me because I gave you a special service (referring to the vacuum cleaner)." When I questioned further about not performing the job, he stated, "Oh it's on me, it's my fault. My supervisor is going to send another technician to service it because I couldn't do, its my fault." Then he quickly left. I called Certified Green Team at 6175862586 and spoke to a representative. She claimed that she filed my complaint and reached out to the company and they confirmed that they will be sending someone else out the same day. When I asked her what time, she claimed they didn't respond. After hours of waiting, I called Certified Green Team again and informed them that no one called nor came by. The representative stated that I have to wait to hear back from the supervisor and I'm not allowed to speak to the manager then she disconnected the call. I called back several times and no one answered. I tried calling Monday morning and my number has been blocked/my call wouldn't go through. If I could rate below one star, I would. STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Completely unprofessional. I requested a shampoo cleaning for the carpet in my brand new apartment and the guy who cleaned it said it would be dry in 3-5 hours. Four days later the carpet was still wet and damp. They sent the same guy to look it over and he called and said he was 30min away and did not show up for over an hour. No courtesy call to say he was being delayed or acknowledgment or apology once he arrived. After checking the moisture levels in the wall he said because of Flash Floods there was humidity in the walls from "water damage" and that is why the carpet was not dry. Mind you the apartment had been inspected prior to my closing on it so there was no water damage. So they do not take accountability for their work. When I requested a refund, they conveniently told me it was not part of their policy. So they then offered to disinfect the carpet at no additional cost. Still no guarantee that the carpet would be dry afterwards. I then had to complain to his field manager, who gave me the wrap around, when I requested they use a dehumidifier to make sure the carpet would be dry. Then they finally agreed to leave it for a day, which if a carpet is going to get wet from their work, it should be standard practice to leave a dehumidifier to make sure it is not wet. After the second job was completed, the guy questioned me how far away I was and how long I would be, as if his time was more precious than mine. The carpet was drier after 1 day with the dehumidifier, but still not happy overall. I had to stay at a hotel while the carpet was drying. Oh and I also had to ask MULTIPLE times for an invoice for both jobs. Still am waiting on it actually. Needless to say, do not hire these people to clean your carpets or anything. PLEASE READ!! If I could select ZERO stars I would!!! Do not use this business. My wife and I recently hired them to clean several items in our house. We noticed that they ran the ribbed hose from the machine over the banister in our foyer, significantly damaging the railing, which we had just gotten painted earlier this year. We contacted the company who completely dismissed our concern and offered no form of compensation or remediation. I hired Certified Green Team on 12/12/21 to clean 15 ducts at my house. I was not aware that they subcontracted out for the work.  The subcontractors they hired did an absolutely horrible job.  They showed up with a $60 Rigid Shop Vac and their vent brush was missing at least half of the bristles (which they disposed of by leaving on my bathroom floor). Their vacuum did a terrible job of getting much of any of the debris from the ducts.  They did not replace ANY of the duct covers. My girlfriend and I both suffer from bad allergies.  We both were sick for days after this crew came to our home because all they did was stir up the stuff in the ducts but then did not extract it.  So as soon as the heat turned on it blew all over our rooms. I have spoken with the "customer service" line four times and each time have been told a contractor manager would call me in 24-48hrs.  That has never happened.  I refuse to let the previous contractor back into my home because I do not believe they are professional and I certainly do not believe they are insured. When I google the assigned contractor, Hartford Carpet Upholstery Cleaning or their phone number (860-849-7191) there are no results for this specific company.  When I call the above number the man who answers is offensive, rude, and refuses to take any ownership of the job.  Instead he tells me to call the people who came and did the job. So now I am facing two companies who are passing the blame on.  That is not how this works.  I hired Certified Green Team.  Certified Green Team hired a terrible contractor who I am not even sure if they were legally working in my home.  Certified Green Team needs to make this right. They tried to steal my rug! TLDR: Delayed drop off for almost 3 additional weeks, I threatened to contact my bank for fraud, the next day they delivered it and the quality was...fine. I also posted a version of this on their Better Business Bureau profile (which is also completely tanked). After the initial contact for service and pick up of my wool rug on 8/6, things were already going downhill. The rug was not in the best shape, and I paid 300$ upfront for a full-service cleaning. I was quoted 2 weeks for the cleaning and delivery, though no installation. Cut to two weeks later, I call and follow up with the office asking when the delivery can be scheduled. I was told that the rug was ready, but delivery had to be done the next week, on 8/28, because there was a backup at the warehouse. Okay, annoying but alright, I scheduled it for 8-10 am. I was also going in between contacting the service tech directly and calling the office, sometimes upwards of 3 times a day requesting info. I then contacted the tech on the morning of 8/28, asking for a general arrival time. He then tells me it isn't ready, and the delivery will have to be delayed again. I called the office, they told me the same thing that it suddenly isn't ready and the tech will let me know when it can be delivered. I get a "quote" for the *NEXT* Tuesday, 9/3. On 9/3, I texted and asked since I'll be out of my apartment, when can I tell the building to expect the delivery. No answer. I ask if the rug is even ready, no answer. Several hours later I was told the rug was ready, but he was unable to tell me exactly when it'd be delivered, maybe sometime this week. At this point, I say that they've had 4 total weeks with the rug, and at this point, I'll be contacting my bank to file fraud charges at the end of business the next day (today, Wednesday 9/4). I don't respond to an additional message from the tech again saying something along the lines of "maybe". Around 7:30, I got a call from a different number for the office I had been calling to schedule the delivery for today, Wednesday 9/4 for a 1-3 time window. Now, today, I tell the guy to contact me when he's here. He simply sent me a picture that it's in my mail room, I raced down there, and he left to avoid speaking to me. My front desk had advised him to deliver it to my apartment but he apparently refused. I unroll the rug... and it's fine. I'm still not totally convinced I would've gotten it back if I hadn't threatened to call my bank and have them investigate. So beware !! read more

Bait & Switch I contacted Certified Green Team on the phone and explained that my mom, who lives in Attleboro, MA, had been in the hospital and rehab for almost 4 weeks and that her dog had stayed home and been checked in on 3 times a day every day but that on that day, the day she returned home, we just discovered that the dog had urinated on her 2 couches and 1 recliner. There were no stains to be seen but definite urine smell. I requested a quote for getting the urine smell out of the upholstery and was quoted a total of $180. Certified Green Team said they could send someone to provide a quote and clean the furniture (if desired) on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023. I agreed that this would be a good date. I would be at work that day but my mother would be there in her home. My mother reported that when the employee arrived, he gave her 3 quotes and said that he might not be able to get the urine smell out for the quoted $180 and that she would need additional service to treat the urine smell that would cost a total of $585. My mother felt that this was a bait & switch tactic and had not been prepared to pay close to six hundred dollars so she had him only do the service that cost $180 because that had been quoted for removing dog urine smell to me on the phone. When the furniture was still wet and also when it was completely dried, it still smells strongly of urine. I called Certified Green Team on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023 and explained my complaint. The woman who answered the phone simply told me that they have a disclaimer that the quote is not official until the technician looks at the work to be done and makes the quote. She did not offer to resolve the dispute in any way. When I spoke to this company for the first time on 9/20, there was no mention of any extra charges for treating dog urine, even though I clearly stated the work that needed to be done. The certified green team does not even deserve one star. I should've question why they were available so soon. It's because it is a very cheaply and unprofessionally run company. That overcharged me. I should've gone with my gut and said no but I hired them since I wanted my air duct system cleaned out ASAP. The employee Dee I worked with was a nice enough person but wanted to get the job done and quickly. He brought an assistant unannounced to me who could not even properly replace the vent covers. Their equipment was very unprofessional there was a shop vac that had tape all over it and a drill with a tool they use to clean the vents. I should have turned them away. I did not and I'm regretting that since I've called now to talk with a manager or owner five times since they have done the job last week. And I plan on calling again. Once the job was completed way faster than I expected, I paid them and they ran. The assistant was waiting in the car when I noticed the vent covers were put on the wrong way and Dee had to get him to come back in and put them on. When he did, he did it incorrectly once AGAIN!!! I did not notice this until they had left. There were fingerprints all over my walls, dust covering everything in every room to the touch. I spent over nine hours cleaning up after they left. There was chipped paint around my vent covers, some of the vent covers screws were stripped and they were put in wrong so they are hanging half off. I cannot even remove the screws with pliers so they are still improperly installed. I was promised a sanitizer process and I had to ask Dee about it after they had done an upstairs room and he said it "slipped his mind" and went to the truck to get it. I should've followed them around my house the entire time as I feel like they were very rushed and lazy with the job. I had to fix and clean everything once they left. I am very unsatisfied and would like my money back. I will be contacting the BBB first thing in the morning about this very unprofessional company. They don't even have an email to send questions to. Scheduled appointment and took time out of work, technician never showed up. I was told he was going to be 3-4 hours late when I called. I had to reschedule and an hour before the new appointment I found out I was misquoted by several hundred dollars. Worst experience ever!!! read more

one of their technicians came in and did the Dryer-vent cleaning . He was very dubious and started quoting $300 dollars for cleaning the vent after he saw the choked flapper on the outside of the house. I told the company had agreed for $99 for cleaning the vent a nothing was discussed about deep cleaning. I had to tell him I just want the lint blown out from the dryer side and the cage removed on the flapper and replaced. He agreed and used a very undersized blower which is more like a home vaccum cleaner. it did blow some lint but I guess more was left behind. Prepare to pay more than you were quoted! So one thing that I will say about the service is that the person who showed up (Ron) was extremely personable and nice. Now for the review: When I was called by the service after my online inquiry, I was quoted a price for the (3) items that we wanted to have cleaned. $29 for each chair and $79 for the couch. Roughly $140 to clean all three. When Ron arrived he explained the service and the different levels (which was not explained during the initial phone call). You soon realize that you are not going to pay what was quoted, and because they have now explained the levels of service and are standing in your house, you need to make a decision. But if you want to get something clean you won't be paying the price you were quoted, you'll be paying more if you want to get something clean. The next level of service (which adds soap) doubles the price. Shouldn't every cleaning experience include soap? He was in and out in 30 minutes and although the couch came out fine (didn't need a lot of cleaning to begin with) but the two chairs still had some dog hair on them and were marginally better than before he came. So in the end we paid $280 (not the $140 that was quoted) and walked away with a mediocre cleaning job that I probably could have done myself had I just bought my own steam cleaner.
