The sales lady behind the counter did not greet us and looked uninterested in helping us or anyone else in the store. After she asked us maybe two questions about what we were looking for. She didn't provide any guidance, knowledge, or advice but just started putting random rings on the counter without saying a word. My wife had recently died and I wanted to remake our two wedding bands into one ring. "Can't be done" I was told, surprised, i asked again. "Can't be done". So I asked, "do you know someone who could do this for me?" "No", I was told. "Really" I inquired, "no one in Naples can do this work". "No". I was very pleased with the sales lady but both of my diamond tennis bracelets I brought in for repair broke again in the same places within two weeks. One bracelet was missing a diamond- they replaced it but it fell out and got lost within a week. The other bracelet broke in the middle and needed to be reconnected. After being fixed it broke again and I almost lost in a parking lot when it fell off my wrist. I recommend provident jewelry in down town Naples. I wandered into this location while waiting for my husband. They were just about to close, but a very sweet and friendly salesman showed me a ring in the estate case that I loved. It was a princess center stone flanked by 2 additional princess stones. The color, cut, and clarity were impressive -- and the total carat weight was perfect for my hand. Because they were closing, he printed me a helpful information sheet with a photo of the ring so I could think about it overnight. I told my husband about the ring and showed him the printed photo. He wanted to know what the best price was -- and if there was anything else I liked better anywhere else. The only other ring that compared was one on the Internet (also from a certified jeweler) but the ring online was a lot less money. He said he was fine with either ring, but he wanted me to be completely happy. The next day, we brought a photo of the online ring (with all the stats) to compare to the estate ring at Certified Jewelers. The sweet salesman recalculated the ring and gave us a price that nearly matched the one online (now only $1300 apart). In that moment, I decided to go with Certified Jewelers. Before we pulled the trigger, my husband offered to show me a written comparison of both rings so I could see on paper the benefits of each now that we were happy with both prices. About to invest that much $$, I thought it was a great idea. So we quietly compared the center stones, the side stones, the metal, the certifications, etc. And I still felt that Certified Jewelers was the way to go. But without warning, the Owner/manager approached us and in front of other customers, scolded us for not seeing that he already "gave the ring away to us" -- that "he wasn't about to come down any lower" -- and that if we "couldn't see the difference between his jewelry and online junk, best of luck" to us. His tone was loud, hostile, angry, and embarrassing. Little did he know we were just about to hand our salesman our credit card. And the craziest part -- WE NEVER ASKED FOR A BETTER PRICE. We were very happy with the price we had been quoted. It was his false assumption that we were wishing to barter with him. Not the case. He made a special and exciting moment something very deflating and humiliating. He took the wind out of our sails. Even though we were about to purchase his estate ring, we were harassed and publicly shamed. My husband was calm and collected as he finished the comparison with me. But we looked at each other in disbelief as the owner/manager stormed away from us, and we decided to just leave. Once in the car, he said, "I don't want to give them our hard earned money. They don't deserve it." I was disappointed, but I fully agreed. That man ruined the sale and any future opportunities to have our business. I am pleased to say now that I secured the online ring, and will be the official owner of it next month once we make our final payment. If you are considering this store for your jewelry purchase, look at the other options where management actually respects and cares for clients. read more

I dropped my wedding band off for repair. It has a ton of baguettes and round stones. I had lost one round stone. I asked if they could get a identical stone and repair. Sure they said. I got the ring back and they did a shoddy job. I am so disappointed and angry all at once. It would be one thing if the ring did not carry a ton of sentimental value and feelings. While vacationing in Naples in late February to early March 2019, I visited Certified Jewelers (on the advice of a friend) to have a watch battery replaced. Each of the staff I met in the store was pleasant & engaging & the replacement was completed within the 3-day timeframe as promised. The $20/+ tax charge was a bit hefty (four times what I pay at home in MA); however, I was "stuck" since I brought only the one watch on the trip so had no choice but to pay it. The watch worked just fine until yesterday (June 9) when I noticed it had stopped. I took it to my jeweler (I'm a long time customer & trust her without question) here at home who told me the battery was dead & may have been "defective or old", otherwise it certainly should have worked for more than a little over 3 months , especially for $20! She also examined the watch & confirmed that it had not been damaged by the battery & was in good working order, which was a relief since I purchased it inly 18 months ago. She inserted a fresh, new battery for a much lower fee of $4.99/+ tax & the watch is once again working just fine. Coincidentally, I live in an area that, like Naples, is very popular with tourists & thus comparatively pricey in general. Yet,I paid only $4.99 to replace the battery (my jeweler's usual fee). Understanding that no battery is perfect, I'm writing to stimulate an awareness for both vendors & consumers that it is important to ensure that quality is consistent, especially when paying top dollar for a products & service. Most likely, as nice as they were I will not return to Certified Jewelers when I stay in Naples next winter. However, if need a battery replaced while away from home, I will ask the right questions based on this lesson learned! read more

My husband ordered 2 initials H And G. I wanted them to be put on a plain solid white gold medal. I picked one out. They told me I had to pay for it before I could see it. That is like paying for a "cat in a Bag". I told them to cancel the order with the initials. When my husband went to get a credit for the initials they would only give a store credit. I have NEVER had that happen in a reputable jewelry store. Do you think Provident Jewelry or any other jewelry store in Naples would say store credit only. STAY AWAY. For a few dollars more you go first class. Never again will I deal with them until I use up my credit. read more
