Moving sucks! Hiring movers doesn't have to. I requested a quote at Joe got right back to me and the price was right for what we needed. He communicated all the way up to moving day. And even let me know when the guys were on their way the morning of. They showed up at 9:00 as scheduled. We did a walk through of the garage, house and backyard to give them an idea of what they had in store for them. They advised at that time it would probably take two trips. Sure glad the new house is only 5.5 miles away. We requested 4 movers because if all the stuff we have. They were all amazingly nice! They loaded up the first truckload and headed over; came back for the second load. The total move was 10 hours, pretty much what we expected! We also inquired about some junk removal of some things that needed to go and Joe and Oliver took care of that after our move was completed! It was a long day for these guys but they kept a smile on their face all day. If I can make one suggestion, wrapping the mattresses would be so much nicer! I called and emailed several local movers, and almost everybody had an hourly rate with a two-hour minimum that pushed cost up above $300, which is ridiculous for such a quick and easy job. Only two of the movers in-town were willing to look at this as an ala carte task, and Certified Moving Service reached out first via the Yelp feature that allows you to field quotes from multiple vendors. They quoted $120 and two of their guys were at my door in less than an hour. Super easy transaction that allowed payment via zelle. While it still seems like a lot of money for a fifteen-minute project, $120 was a small price to pay for not breaking my back trying to move it myself. I've used this company 4x already because they seemed great, nope! Not this time around! The first 3x, they were able to move me within 2 hours and each time I had less and less stuff. This time around, the movers were almost 30min late, and they worked slow !! I'm a small female, I hired movers to help and I ended up helping THEM! Before I booked, I let Joe know that my budget was JUST the 2 hours and when the movers arrived, I told them the same and they assured me they could do it. I had 2 stops but they were only about 6min away from each other. Again, I had way less stuff ! And the times before I was moving from a second floor to another second floor. They took their sweet time disassembling my bed and reassembling took even longer! I told them to just leave it and finish and they wouldn't listen. And each time we had to move, one of the guys kept having to jump start their car! They would be slow and text. They went over an hour and made me pay an extra $450 which I would have been okay with if they were actually working at a decent speed and not slacking. They left their trash in my previous apartment and were not even prepared and kept asking to borrow MY tools! Upon finishing up, it seemed like they were finally rushing but they were not careful and broke my new cabinets from my dressers !!! They wouldn't leave until I sent $450 and I had to go so I sent it, big mistake! I texted Joe, the owner and told him about all the issues. He became very argumentative and unprofessional. Looking at the reviews, I'm sure he will reply to this with a bunch of excuses! I'm so disappointed. Even tho my drawers are new, I tried to be nice and tell him to just refund me atleast $50 which doesn't cover it. Then I asked for $100 back because I was so upset and he played dumb. read more

We recently used Joe and his team to move. I'm afraid I cannot recommend them. They broke an item and Joe refused to take responsibility. He said his insurance only pays 60 cents/ dollar. And the item only weighs about 5 pounds, but cost about $150 when I purchased it last year. I even offered to take just $50 but he refused. And this is after I paid him $950 for a move and tipped him and his workers each $100. Then today I found some other damage to some furniture. I went with Certified Moving Service because they were the cheapest option, but unfortunately, I understand why it was the cheapest. They gave me a time block of 12-2 PM but never showed up or gave me any kind of update that they were running late. When I reached out 30 minutes after the window, I got no response. I ended up waiting all day, double texting them, and only received a reply after I told them I had already hired someone else. This lack of communication completely threw off my moving plans. I had to move late into the night and even call out of work the next day just to finish. The response I finally got felt dismissive, which added to my frustration. Constructive feedback: * If jobs run long, customers should be updated immediately. Even a quick text or call would have made a huge difference. * Respect people's time as moving is stressful and often tied to strict deadlines. * A more professional and empathetic response when things go wrong would help build trust, even if the schedule falls apart. I understand things happen and moves can take longer than expected, but the silence and lack of urgency showed a disregard for the customer. BEWARE! I chose this company because of the reviews and it was literally the WORST moving experience ever. 1. Good thing I followed up to confirm my appointment because they had a system update and I was no longer on their calendar. 2. They don't have a truck, it's a dirty trailer and it's not empty, so less of your stuff will fit. And my fabric bed frame is dirty on the sides from it because they didn't wrap it. They only wrap the mattress. The trailer does not have anchors on the side so they had to keep going in and holding the furniture up against the sides to make room for more, rather than anchoring it up. 3. I asked Joe twice prior to hiring if he knew how to move a sleep number bed. He confirmed he did, but when the day came, it took him over an hour to take the bed apart and I saw him on YouTube learning how to do it, while his partner was sitting on the floor watching him. He also broke one of the buttons on my bed. (Picture attached) 4. My friends and family ended up moving basically everything because they saw I was getting ripped off by paying them hourly. They were slow and inefficient. They did not have all the right tools. You would think they had a ratchet to make the job faster but no, they used the L shaped hex keys which are sooo much slower! 5. Me and my friend had to show them how to move the refrigerator AND help them move it because they couldn't fit it through the door. My friend's finger started bleeding because he got cut helping them do their job. 6. They started arguing with me and my family. So I was literally paying them per minute to argue with me. CRAZY! My family also heard them talking crap as they were working. SO unprofessional. 7. I decided not to have them reassemble my guest room bedframe because I didn't know how long it would take and no longer wanted to pay them. I asked for the parts so I can do it myself. These guys really worked really hard! Got to our house at 8:00am and was fully loaded by 11:00am. They wrapped everything in moving blankets and taped them up. They disassembled bed frames, dresser mirrors, and furniture as needed. Then, at the new house, they were very respectful when walking into new carpeted areas to not track stuff in and they reassembled everything. If you think that you are going to make a move without a scratch and dent, then I think your expectations may be unrealistic. We had some, but minimal. These guys were great! read more
