Found them on Craigslist, they posted an ad ("$40 service call!") but avoided putting their company name in the ad. Now I know why. Also this must be why they are loading their reviews with fake reviewers. (yeah guys, it's obvious.) I told them the problem, I told them the make of the dryer like they asked. Made an appointment, they stood me up the first day. They didn't call, I had to call them. 2nd day at least they showed up. Technician immediately says there's a problem because the screws to get the top off the dryer are too rusted, so he can't work on it. Sprays some WD40, and when that doesn't work, calls it a day. He was correct but did not want to bother drilling through the TWO rusted screws. I made him WAIT while I drilled them out MYSELF in under 5 minutes. Right there you lose major points for apathy. So he takes apart the dryer, diagnoses the problem pretty quickly, but then he tells me he doesn't have the part and has to come back. I ask why he wouldn't have a FUSE, he tells me my dryer is 'too old.' (it's an older Whirlpool with the manual revolving timer mechanism.) BUT it's a BLOWN FUSE. Seriously, how hard is it to carry $2 fuses? Apparently pretty hard. But the tech makes up this story like it's some magical proprietary rare part. (I looked it up, it's not, it's actually a common part used across several different brands.) "How much will it be to fix?" I ask. $185 he tells me. For a FUSE??? Please. Look 'Cesar,' I have other things that need fixing, but taking advantage of people is not a great business model. $40 visits might get you the initial business but you lose the trust and now I'm going to seek out another repairman. Charging $185 to replace a COMMON $2 part (and claiming it's rare and mystical) is not particularly ethical. I still shouldn't even have to pay for another service call for your tech's neglect, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CLAIM ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT YOU 'CARRY MANY COMMON PARTS!' I'm also reading some of the other suspect 'glowing' reviews here that say their tech (who showed up on the same day no less, with whatever part necessary) was 'helpful' and showed them how to maintain their freshly-repaired appliance? Jeez who was their tech? Mine had no vacuum, performed no maintenance, gave me no clues about why it failed in the first place, and he seemed more in a rush to leave for his next service call. Not to mention I had to do some of the work myself by removing rusted screws, because he couldn't be bothered. I'm hoping this saves other people the aggravation and predatory business practices. My 15+ year old whirlpool refrigerator gave out sometime between Sunday and Monday. When I opened the freezer on Tuesday night everything was a soupy mess (including 4 pints of my beloved hard to find Haagen Dazs Green Tea ice cream ARGHHHHHH!). It's a side by side so the freezer was packed with meats vegetables ice cream frozen fruits... it all went into the garbage. On Wednesday I made calls to the highly rated fridge repair places and although I stressed the direness of the situation and needing it fixed same day to try to salvage what was in the fridge they all were trying to give me Thursday / Friday appointments (!) or I was getting answering machines. That is until my fifth call which was to Cesar's. I got a 5-7pm appointment and was called to when the technician realized he'd be late. No problem!!! No one else was coming so I patiently waited. Edgar arrived at 805, very professional and courteous, explained everything. Who knew I was supposed to have this thing maintained every 3-4 years?!?! He removed 15+ years of gunk, changed the relay starter kit, restored refrigerant pressure and provided the much needed maintenance. Price was wonderful and my whirlpool is freezing and chilling as it did the first day I got it. Excellent!!!! I've already shared their info with others. Friendly, did an excellent job, and same-day service! My dryer wasn't heating and I had a mountain of laundry that was piling up. Tried calling around to Sears and a couple of other "big" places, but the appointments were always a few weeks out, or at an 8-5 time frame on a weekday, which wasn't going to work. I then saw this review on yelp. Called and was told someone could be out to me in a few hours' time! I half-jokingly mentioned that maybe while someone was here they could take a look at my fridge. It's been leaking a bit of water here and there and while not urgent, I knew it was something that would eventually have to be taken care of. Said they would take a look at that, too. I called Cesar at approximatley 10 am and after speaking with Cesar himself I was given a window of expectation upon what time to expect his arrival and true to his word he arrived .within that time frame not 5 minutes to the latter which is most of the time with a lot of businesses now days Cesar arrived at my home he was punctual professional and very courteous he took care of the problem I was having with my oven quoted me one price and after further scrutiny was able fix my problem for far less than the original quote Cesar provided excellent service and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs services. Our gas oven recently stop working, so we put a request for estimates out through Yelp. Cesar was one of the first to respond and continued to be very communicative and give a very competitive rate -- that's why we ended up choosing him. He was upfront with pricing and service options, and he applied his inspection charge to the overall cost of the repairs. Although we had a minor hiccup with a part during the first attempt to fix the oven, Cesar came back later in the day and finished the job (even if it cost him his Friday night). I found Cesar on Yelp earlier today when I had a huge problem with a refrigerator that I purchased, but it was too large to fit in the freight elevator of my apartment building. He came there with two men and after 45 minutes of trying and then determining that there is no way to take parts off to get it into the elevator, he told me that he would not accept any money from me. This man is so honest that it is remarkable. Most appliance repairmen have a reputation for ripping you off....not Cesar. this company was great. called them a week before new year's eve with refrigerator and washing machine problems. technician came out all the way to Jersey City even though they mostly service NYC neighborhoods. they arrived on time the first time and called ahead to notify us of a delay the 2nd time, both of which was very professional. Within a week, they had the parts and the repair was done in no time. I was also given a decent price for the parts, and they were willing to work with us on the labor cost as well which was an added bonus, not to mention there is warranty on the work which is a huge peace of mind. read more

I am so glad I found this guys! I was having problems with my kenmore washer machine and after calling a few places around who wanted an exorbitant amount just to show up... I came across Cesar's appliance who offered a fair service fee which would be waived if I chose to do the repair with them. So I decided to give them a try and one of their techs come in later in the day, who found problem right away and fixed it right on the spot and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I found Ceasar's online, checked out ALL reviews good and bad and gave them a call. She was given a 2-5 window and at 2 he was there. It took him 2 minutes to figure it out. My Kitchen Aid refrigerator wasn't cooling so I called Cesar's. They were able to make an appointment for the next day but the repair man didn't make the appointment because he went on the wrong address and then got stuck in traffic. He came the next day and gave me a discount for missing the day before's appointment. He was very professional and identified/fixed the problem quickly (basically too much dirt behind the fridge). Cesar and his colleague completed the maintenance on my dryer and then gave me tips on how to keep it in good running order. I was referred to Cesar's Appliance by another repair company who didn't service stacked washing machines. I called Cesar and he was at my apartment in 40 MINUTES!!!!! Honestly, I don't know why I waited two weeks to have my leak looked at. He fixed my machine, cleaned the inside, gave me some maintenance tips and was finished within an hour. Very happy with the all around service. Cesar answered the phone himself, he set up the appointment for the tech to visit. The tech was on time!!! I can't say how important that is.
