Sucks I have to leave this review because Cesar is overall a nice/cool guy but mechanic work done right comes first. The review below me (1 star) is also 100% accurate of how business is done with Cesar. Anywho, Cesar installed my control arms a few years ago when I had no knowledge of cars. The control arms only lasted 20k miles. Reason for this is because they were installed upside down, on the opposite sides of the car. Fast forward to today, I now do 100% of the work on my cars. I refreshed my suspension because I started to get suspension noises. Well I noticed that the control arms were previously installed incorrectly. Refer to my photo. I found Cesar on yelp and i cant tell you how fortunate i am to find him! I have a classic 68 Mustang that had charging issues and would always die on me. Cesar came out, took a look at it and did his analysis. He figured out what the issue was quickly and fixed the problem! Stop complaining about the cost he charges for travel - if he didnt, then you would have to get your ass in your car and drive it to a shop or tow (if not running) it to a shop and then get charged an expensive rate just to look at your car as the shop has overheads like rent and staff that it has to cover! Cesar is fantastic! And a wonderful person. I have done a lot of repairs and upgrades on my 1969 Jeep Truck and two weeks ago it wouldn't start. The starter is less than a year old and the battery is fully charged, it clicks, and nothing. I found Cesar here on Yelp so I called and he came out within a couple hours (at 8 pm no less). After testing my system and wiring he said that everything was correct. After retesting the starter alone he asked for a rubber mallet (?). After a few taps on the starter it turned right over!!! Who would have thought that the starter was frozen. (In our conversation he realized that the truck wasn't driven a lot - even through it had started two days before locking up it just wasn't used regularly.). It helps to have someone with years of experience. Thank you Cesar!!! Oh - and he only only charged me the $85 Diagnostic Fee (plus $4/mile to Glendale) That is well worth NOT having to get it in a tow truck... then wait a couple days for the shop to get to it. read more

A mobile mechanic without a car and a smartphone. You have to pick him up or send him an Uber to work with him. He can't get his own Uber because he doesn't have a smartphone. He lives in east downtown so based on your location, his trip to you and back could be around $60, plus he charges $85 for diagnostic, so to start with, you are around $150 in for a diagnostic. His tools are pretty basic, he comes with 2 bags of tools and very basic scanner, most of the times his diagnostics are wrong and will give you a run around... You will have to baby sit him because he will say I need this and that from Autozone. Even for basic things any mobile mechanic should have, he will send you to Autozone to get it or he will ask to come with you. He doesn't have a car so he can't do it himself. He is never on time, he agrees to come at 9am, and shows up at 12pm if you are lucky. Never never never on time, and not on time means not 15-20 minutes late, late like couple hours. And sometimes he is late, and late, you call him, trying to reach him, no answer, and he doesn't show up at all and waste your all day. Once we were supposed to meet at 9am, and he was late, he kept saying "I will be ready to leave in 30 minutes so you can send uber" all day and cancel me at 3pm, I literally ended up wasting my all day waiting for him at home. Some days, I couldn't even reach him, he is late, doesn't show up, and no answer, and not an apology or call back next day, until I call him couple days after, and he is like "yeah sorry I couldn't make it that day". Also his prices are all over the place. He charges you random values and they are high. You can definitely get the same price from a local shop and at least you get a good quality service from a legit shop with proper tools and insurance. If anything happens to your car after fixed, you can always go back to shop and complain, with Cesar, you have to try to get in touch with him and wait until he comes back again to check and you have to pay for uber both ways, which also costs you $60. Other downside is, you don't get any proper paperwork for the work he has done. He sends you a text message as a receipt. It's not a real receipt, it is just some words and explanations and date and how much he charges you. You have to pay him in cash and there is literally no track of any transaction or work done to the car. It is very risky business and you can't go after him if anything happens. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. He is very amateur in every way. I tried to work with him in many projects and they all ended up failing because of these reasons. This review is not about service or skill of mechanic. Spoke to Cesar by phone. Explained the trouble I'm having with my car. He told me that he has a service fee which would be applied to the repair after he was able to get into it and diagnose if we plan to proceed. All sounds fine not much different than my plumber or appliance repair man. Then he tells me that he's a mobile mechanic who does not drive?! I said you don't come in a truck with your tools? And charge for travel time or mileage (which I would find acceptable although a little overkill combined with service call.) He said no, customer had to pick him up and drop him off or pay Uber round trip because he doesn't drive. Started to add up and sound sketchy so I thanked him for his time and left it at that. I'm accustomed to people coming to your location (appliance repair, plumber, electrician) having a service call fee which protects them for travel and diagnostic time. I understand and accept this otherwise they may end up running all over town and not get paid at all but to operate a mobile service and not drive? Left me baffled. read more

Good guy but he's not communicative. I asked if he can fix the gauges on my 52 Chevy car, he said yes. So my taillights were working before he came then all of a sudden after his $85 diagnostic they didn't turn on. Now he recommended to rewire the entire car.. Ok not what I asked but we got it fixed. So then towards the end of the job, all he did was install gauge lights and said I needed new copper wires to run the thermo, oil,etc. This was back in April and still haven't answered my calls or texts. if you need someone to come to your house to fix your car, you have to call cesar! following a complete frame off restoration of our 1930 ford model A, including all wiring, we had an open ground preventing it from starting. our car is an antique and it's difficult to have it towed to a shop, not to mention that you have to trust the shop not to steal any original parts out of the car and replace them! I called cesar, who luckily had time that day and came over an hour later.. I quickly realised he was very familiar with 6 volt positive systems like most cars of that era and found that our car was not properly grounded to the frame..he also found another issue at the starter and a reversed polarity at the 6 volt alternator..also the lights and horn were not working properly and he quickly figured out that I had installed the light switch incorrectly, but that it worked otherwise..finally he timed the engine perfectly by sound and feel.. thank you cesar, you offer a great service to amateur car hobbiests like myself and to anyone else who needs someone to come to their house, place of business, or someone who's stranded! read more

Diagnosed my car as having a bad computer, but did not offer to source one. He did charge $85 for the diagnosis and $4 for mileage from his place to my house. I bought a car computer online, it needs to have the VIN programmed into it. Asked if he would do that, to which he responded that he could only install it and does not program them. Seems to me he doesn't know much about car computers, which now makes me question if the diagnosis was even correct. I feel that I paid $89 for a questionable diagnosis. read more

He whipped out his Bosch CPU unit and told me all the things that is going wrong with my Durango. There was no upsell at all on Cesar's part; just a very thoughtful way of letting me know what my car needs down the road. Cesar did a pre purchase inspection for us. He did a spectacular job. We were interested in a Toyota Prius that was fair in price. Cesar is able to do both Electric and Mechanical diagnostics. This talent is really needed when doing a pre purchase inspection. Cesar checked out the Brakes, motor mounts, Rotors, Front end and Rear end, engine, interior and body. Some stuff needed minor repair and was normal wear and tear. Good to know what needed attention soon. He was able to tell us how long the tires, Rotors and brakes would last. He went under the car and was able to see the the engine mount would need to be replaced in about one year. Great job! Cesar saved us lot of money. He ran a diagnostic computer check on the Prius. It came back that the car needed a new hybrid battery. Anyone who is familiar with the Toyota Prius knows that this repair is very expensive. We would have never known of the Hybrid battery issue without his help. The car ran very well You really need someone with experience in both electrical and mechanical issues to diagnose a car today. Cesar is the man to go to PERIOD. !! I should be doing two reviews since it's my second time calling him. Right off the bat I would like to say Cesar WILL ANSWER YOUR CALL and if he doesnt it's Damm sure he is busy on another car. My fist time experience with Cesar's work was unforgettable and comforting as he reassured me that I would be up and running by the time he was finished. He didn't lie I was on the road that day within hours actually. Yet I was skeptical at first since he had no real shop but I gave him a shot........ Did not regret it one bit like the others. He answered every call I made to him and believe me I called multiple times and he even returned my calls. My car would randomly shut off at times but will at times turn on right after. Not always the case , at points I would have to wait some great amount of time to crank it up. I've called other shops but all of them told me it was electrical problem with my car and needed a certified E Tech. I wasn't buying at all so I gave Cesar a call and of course I had my car towed to his place( usually where he does business, but also travels to you). Once he got there it was about 10 min and he knew what was wrong , fixed it and made a happy customer out of me! It was ICM Electeicall connector was bad also the TPS electrical connector wires were bad but with his advice I made it to pick your part and got the parts I needed.
