I thought awhile about whether I should write this review or not. Back in February, I brought my 2008 Toyota Camry to him for some work to be done. One of those things was to have my front shocks changed. He changed the parts and I got the car back. When I got the car back, I immediately started hearing a noise that did not sound right especially coming from new parts. I informed Jack about it and he told me to bring it back. We took it for a test drive and he said he didn't hear it and insisted it was the rear struts. But it was clearly coming from the front. Fast forward now to August, I take my car to another mechanic to have some work done. They immediately heard the noise that I was telling Jack that was there the whole time. Jack agrees to warranty them because he said he hears the sound now. We talk on the phone before the work is done and he mentions that he wants to have something in writing that after the warranty parts were put in, he is no longer responsible for that work which didn't sit right with me. I paid to have something done and it wasn't even your fault that it was faulty parts but saying "wash my hands with your car" and "no longer my problem after this" is far from professional. It's not like it was some other problem that had nothing to do with what you worked on. You mentioned how I sent you a teasing text and how I didn't sound excited but that was farthest from the truth. And mentioning how you could've charged me for the alignment and how you took the car in right away were "favors" to me was crazy because the alignment would have to be done anyway and whether you took the car in right away or not, the parts would've still been changed. I've mentioned you when people asked me about a mechanic but as I told you now I can't due to this past experiences. Again as we discussed before, I'm not a "keyboard warrior" or "playing victim and gangsta" either. This is customer review of your business. (RESPONSE TO JACK) Jack I never asked to be friends with you lol. That was never in my mind at all so I'm glad we are on the same page. You can call me a Karen and whatever other name you want you can think of "people like me" however you want. Im not mad you told me not to come back. I already had another mechanic as you seen with the other work that was done. I haven't called them or anything because the work was done properly and the parts were not defective or I would've done the same thing. You can't be over there mad because I paid you for work to be done and there was some issues and I kept telling what the issue was and you didn't want to warranty it until I got my new mechanic on the phone. I got that work done in February and then in August you FINALLY warranty them. I said I am not paying for anything extra because I took YOUR WORD ON THE PARTS USED. YOU SAID KYB IS THE BEST AFTERMARKET PARTS. So don't try and act like I just chose these parts myself. I brought my truck to you and paid $2500 and I've never called you back for that. Why? Because the job you did was good. With my car, it has not been the same story. So don't forget that while you try to make me seem like a Karen. You can say I'm playing gangster and victim all day long but you were the one crying on the phone about the review I deleted before. People like you are the problem. Giving me the run around and saying it's another problem when I'm telling you what the problem is but you weren't trying to hear it. I'm not mad about never going to your shop again. I had a great experience at Empire Motorsports in Glendale! I was referred to this repair shop by Al from RepairPal. My check engine light came on and a diagnostic test I ran showed a cylinder misfire. I brought my Jeep in and Jack was the mechanic who helped me. He was awesome-- super knowledgeable, honest, and very efficient. Jack ran his own diagnostic, took the time to test drive the car, and determined it wasn't actually misfiring-- just a faulty code. He could have easily told me I needed a new spark plug or even a whole new cylinder, but instead, he was completely honest and saved me from unnecessary repairs. Found these guys from a Groupon deal since I needed to get my brake pads changed. It was an affordable price so I gave them a shot. They took me in with an appointment and then gave me consultation with a quick diagnosis. I told them there was this grinding noise coming from the tire and they found out the problem which was a wheel bearing. They replaced my rotors, brake pads, gave me a brake fluid flush, and replaced my rear wheel bearing. Jack, the owner, explained everything in detail. Can't recommend them enough. Hov and Jack are the only people I would ever trust with my car. About 2 years ago I came to them needing to put in an INTERLOCK device in it. They walked me through the whole process and made sure I knew exactly what I was doing before I drove off with this device locked to my ignition. Installment was effortless and I was in and out within 15 minutes and felt reassured that everything was going to work fine. If there EVER was an issue with the device (which was seldom) or the company that issued it, Jack and Hovo were quick to get to the bottom of it for me, positively and effectively. From there, I started going to them for every car need. I have never been turned away and have always felt welcome. If I had any questions or any concerns about my car they would make time in their incredibly busy, constructive, business schedule, to make sure my concerns where met.
