Came in today for a AC diagnosis, told the mechanic (Art) what the issue was, he got to work right away, offered me a beverage and made me felt at home as I waited inside, as he was running the diagnosis he found a little problem which wasn't bad, he found out I have a oil leak somewhere even showed me all the oil stains and runoffs from the oil, and he top off my washer fluid which was very nice of him but didn't need too, but overall kind soul, very polite, and very outgoing person I'd definitely recommend come to him for a issue you have and I myself will be coming back 10/10 service read more

Took my 2006 Toyota Prius with 400k mileage to Art for an oil change a few weeks ago. During that appointment, Art informed me that my transmission was leaking a lot and there were other issues. I was really worried that I would have to drop a lot of money on the repairs or would have to buy a new car. But Art found some great cost effective options, got me a really good used transmission, and took care of the necessary repairs. Art was in constant communication the whole time and gave me the best advice based on how old my car is and my driving needs. I'm so so grateful that I found this auto shop because he doesn't up sell and throughly explains everything. He even gives you the time to think about it before making the decision. Recently I went to the other shop to check my car and has been told that my transmission needs to be replaced for a lot of money and then I looked up another shop for a second opinion and I'm happy that I found Art and his team , because apparently it was just a stuck sensor and he replaced it in a same day for a friction of the cost what the other shop quoted me! 10 stars for the service at Shant's Automotive. I literally will never take my vehicles anywhere else AGAIN. If you're on the fence about bringing your car here. DO IT. I took my BMW 530i to the BMW dealership in Glendale before Shant's and spent over a few thousand dollars and still wasn't 100% sure of the quality of work that I was getting. I always thought going to the dealership was my only option, but from now on I wish I would have gone to Shant's Automotive first. Art answered all my questions and went over everything with me the minute I called. He knew what he was talking about and his professionalism and honesty were undeniable. I felt completely comfortable with him from the start. There was no B.S., no pressuring, and no trying to upsell me on things I didn't need. Everything he told me to expect was textbook. I have taken my truck to numerous shops but Shant's is by far the best. Art and his staff have done suspension work, custom wiring, light bar installations, side steps, electrical troubleshooting/rebuilds and the list goes on. They have taken care of any and everything I have thrown at them and when your dealing with vehicles it can be very challenging at times. No job is too big or too small for them and the quality of work is impeccable. What makes Art different from so many others is his attention to detail and how proud he takes himself on his work. He will go over your vehicle, fix minor things that could turn into problems down the road, lube your suspension, check brakes/safety related items, clean areas he worked on your vehicle and triple check everything was done right. You pretty much won't find that kind of mechanic these days that cares about your vehicle like it's his. Also he is very honest and straight forward with you. He takes the time to explain your repair, answer any questions you may have and recommend what he feels is needed without any pressure to upsale you. He will even do jobs that alot of shops won't even touch let alone explain to you what needs to be done. The automotive industry is tough to find people you can trust but from the service manager to the wrench, Shant's Automotive Center has excellent people that care about their craft and being honest. As I have family members back east who are mechanics, they take these situations seriously, and reassured me that Artur was the right choice. From start to finish, Artur went above and beyond in his services, in ensuring I got the best value, and in his hospitality. As he also has a rental car service, and was able to get me seamlessly into a rental while the repairs were being performed. The whole experience was an unexpected luxury in what started as an otherwise highly stressful circumstance. You don't expect an oasis from an unassuming, mom and pop storefront in glendale. The customer service was great but the repair work was bad. Our insurance works with this repair shop we so chose them to get some warantee work done and were told that our brakes were 80% gone. Grant was soo patient and took multiple calls from us and explained everything thoroughly. He even held onto our car for a few more days while we had to come up with money to repair the brakes. We paid $1200 out of pocket for all 4 brakes and were told they were OG parts and that it would easily last us a few years. Great! 3 weeks after driving off we kept hearing squeaks and noises every time we use the brakes. We thought maybe since it's new, it will get better. It didn't. I called and he said no problem bring it in. He replaced them for us. 5 weeks later the squeaks were back. We waited out again, nope still there. We took it back again and he replaced them again. That was back in April. Mid May, we hear the squeaks again. At this point we are disappointed and tired of taking the car back since it was already difficult to find time to keep going back with a newborn and 3 bigger kids with fill schedules. Then last week we came across a different mechanical issue and decide to go to a different mechanic from our warantee and he tells us that the front two brakes are basically gone and very dangerous to drive off that way. We didn't want to drive around with the babies with worn down brakes so we tell them to repair it and we will just take the old part back to Grant to see if he can reimburse us for the part. We take it back and he says no because the part is removed from the car. We explain the situation and tell him we've been back 2 times so far already for the same issue and we had to change them out because it was dangerous. He didn't care. He still says no. He could've maybe checked the serial numbers or looked at the invoice we had and taken a look but he just flat out said no. We really really wanted to like this shop because he was so nice and accommodating. But this is an auto repair shop, not a hospitality based business so unfortunately for the work done, we definitely do not recommend and won't be back. read more

Had my rear brakes serviced today. Grant offered me a choice of cheap, Factory OEM or best (ceramic) pads for my 2018 Toyota Camry. We agreed on a cash price of $240, for the best (ceramic)- with him charging $ 100 for labor, as the part cost him $140. I specifically told him that I want the receipt for the ceramic brake pads- as he said he would have it delivered in 20 minutes. Imagine my surprise, when I come back to pick up the car and he prints up a receipt for me where the part costs $110 and his labor is $130. He tells me some long story about how he needed extra labor to calibrate the brakes !!! But at the same time cannot produce a receipt for my pads- except to show me an empty box. Feel like I was taken advantage of - and never coming back. read more

Shants is great! I must've passed by this place hundreds of times and never thought much of it except it was an odd location for an auto shop. Very tiny with no overflow parking. However when I used repairpal to price out the cost of a new radiator for my 2000 Toyota Avalon Shants was listed as the top auto place near me. Shants is a member of repairpal and will honor the estimates given. However, they did one better, they beat the repairpal price. Repairpal listed a price of $444 to $844 to replace my radiator. Grant, the owner of Shants, quoted me $430, so he beat the low end price of repairpal. The work was great. I've driven the car from Glendale to Venice without any overheating issue and without having to refill my coolant reservoir. Grant also suggested other repairs that I might need. All these suggestions were legitimate because I'd taken my car into a Toyota dealer the month before for a diagnostic and they suggested the same repairs. The difference is the Toyota dealer wanted to charge me thousands more! For example they said they would replace my radiator for about $2000. Grant did it for $430 saving me over $1500. (Of course Toyota would have used genuine Toyota parts, but I'm happy with the non brand name radiator Grant installed). So the price is right and Shants appears they can always fit you in. Also Grant the owner is a real nice guy. Yes, sometimes he's the only guy there and yes sometimes he will keep you waiting a little while he deals with something else, but so what? The service and price is worth waiting for. I'm almost afraid to promote Shants because I want it to be my secret. I don't want it to get so popular that I'd have a hard time getting my car in if I need repairs. But Grant and Shants deserves the praise. read more

Horrible customer service here. I arrived to this shop with my elder parents to get my car AC serviced and the owner or worker Grant told us to wait and went inside his office. We first waited for 25-30 minutes inside my hot car while he sat cool in his office and chatted on his phone without any care or respect to inform us of a delay. After waiting a while, I decided to talk to him in his office that we had waited long enough. He said wait 5 minutes. I said ok. We ended up waiting another 15 minutes in the hot car. At this point, I had lost my patience and I went to his office and told him we were leaving. His more important call was way more important than us or important that he couldn't even tell us to come back later? Horrible experience!!! read more

Absolute crook. He charged me for services he didn't do then when I called him on it he told me he told me he did services I didn't ask for, which I'm sure he didn't do. Then he told me he would do the next job I needed for $360 and knock off $80 and hook me up for a grand total of $280. I went somewhere else today and got that job done for $160.
