It turns out the repairs were on an outdoor living space that Was roofed by the contractor not CFY. Not only did they make the repairs, they found a couple of other issues that were not called out. We used CFY to do roof maintenance and gutter cleaning. Ben came out from an inspection and I was quick to receive a quote. I asked, and CFY accommodated, two relatively light-lifting tasks (repainting part of a gutter that was scratched by a different contractor, and weathersealing a second-story window). Scheduling was easy, and Jose and his team were here for half a day. They also cleared the cobwebs that were accumulating on the front of the house without prompting. In short, CFY was communicative, accommodating, and proactive about clarifying the additional work. They sent before and after photos. I had a terrible experience with CFY Roofing. They are not an honest company. They originally gave me a quote for $12,450 to get the job. However, once they ripped my roof open, they completely changed the price. They told me the total would be $13,500, but when they sent the contract, they sneaked in an additional $13,500, bringing the total to $23,500 for a very small house! When I said I couldn't afford that, they pressured me and said if I didn't pay, I could find another company. My roof was completely exposed, and it was raining that week. They refused to return my deposit, leaving me with no choice but to negotiate while trapped. They constantly changed their numbers, dropping from $23,500 down to $20k, $19k, $17k, and finally $15,250. To make things worse, when the final contract came, they failed to properly deduct the $5,500 progress payment I had already made, only showing the initial $1,000 deposit. Their workmanship was just as shady. When the job was "finished," the first City building inspector came out and officially FAILED the roof. The inspector's report explicitly stated they did a very bad job, noting they had installed brand-new roofing materials and drip rails directly over rotting wood, leaving a major bulge under the shingles. While the city ultimately forced them to tear up the edges to fix the structural rot to barely pass a second inspection, they still refused to replace the rotting exterior fascia trim. They also left the gutters filthy and full of debris even though the contract promised they would be cleaned. They assume homeowners won't go up on a ladder to check. Save yourself the nightmare, the price gouging, and the stress--do not hire this company. read more

They finished the roof quickly and did a good job of cleaning up while we were gone. They did the walk through after the replacement on my schedule and I really appreciate that. CFY put a new roof on my 4/2 house last fall and did a top-notch job in TWO days at a very reasonable price! When they came to assess the roof, they found damage, several layers of shingles from previous re-coverings, and helped us get it covered by our reluctant insurance company. They got much better coverage for it than we could without their help. Now, 1 year later, a huge tree branch fell on our roof. The branch was so big they had to use a chain saw on it to get it off of the roof, and did it at a very reasonable price. The owner personally showed up to inspect my roof. I was afraid that I might need a new roof after lots of high wind in our area. But, after inspection he told me I really only needed a couple of replacement shingles and to reseal the vents on top of the roof. He quoted a very reasonable price, even had his guys trim some of the branches that were touching the roof, and make all the promised repairs. CFY was not only the most competitive, but included GAF system products that are best in industry. For example, shingles with a "Infinite" wind rating and a lifetime warrantee (I didn't know that even existed). The roof was Waterproofed and completely covered, valleys and ridges with a barrier, They re-flashed the chimney with lead flashing, better job than original. Once on site I was given twice daily updates. I think there were about twelve workers at any given time. They cleaned up my property at the end of each day. I contacted four companies, three came out to evaluate job, and only one followed my request for options; CFY. Luis listened to my thoughts on re-roofing my home and garage, added his expertise to the options and told me I would have the written estimates within a week. Luis came back with material options to keep the aesthetic I was looking for. Each option clearly laid out what materials would be used along with costs. Upon agreeing to one of the options, and making the necessary deposit, a date was set. On the day of the job, Luis’s crew arrived when they said they would and went right to work. They were fast & efficient in the tear-off, cleaned up any debris that didn't make it into the truck, and prepared the surface to accept the new roofing materials. The entire crew departed aside from two lone men who worked each side of the roof. They laid out the new shingles perfectly along each tier, working very quickly and with great precision. Upon completion, they did a final policing of the surrounding area to ensure no nails or trimmings were left behind....and they were all gone as quickly as they arrived. I can't be more pleased with the final outcome. New roof makes the while building look better, the colored shingles and matching drip edge goes with the surrounding environment. This business is one of the best roofing companies I've ever dealt with. They were very upfront about everything they were going to do and never sugarcoated anything when it came to pricing. They were always available to answer questions and continued to follow up after the job was completed to ensure everything was done right and that we were happy with the results. Working with Luis was amazing. We were originally working with another company that wanted to charge more for the roof. Then, one of Luis's salesmen came by, knocked on our door, and told us to give him a call if things didn't work out with the other company. We hired CFY for a very complicated roofing job on our home. Our project manager Luis was great and did an amazing job of planning and tracking our project and working through many unexpected issues due to the terrible condition of our old roof. We ended up with "plan C" and his team did an awesome job of improvising as needed to do the job right. After the roof was completed, we had gutters installed and the team who did the installation were quick and professional and did a great job as well. If you see a company with all 5 star reviews, check how many more have been removed for violating TOS and think how many of them are real... We hired CFY to reslope our flat roof with a drain in the middle and redirect the water outside. If Luis thinks he can get away with cheating, he will. CFY cuts corners on everything: To reslope the roof, Luis used cheap square insulation instead of slanted and not enough of it so, after adamantly advocating against making a roof channel, he approved what his incompetent crew did: sliced off several roof support beams, shimmied small pieces on one end without securing them and did not seal the connections! The plywood placed on top of that concoction cracked, but instead of fixing the mess the crew covered it up with thin roofing! The sloped drain area was never leveled and just covered with soft thin roofing so it sinks in when stepped on! 2 skylights were ripped off and repositioned without fixing broken walls. The glass edges were painted with black tar that cracked within days. CFY used leftover roofing material from other jobs creating patches with potential leaks. CFY-made flashings were sticking out and had to be fixed several times The scupper opening was initially left without a scupper and patched on the spot. The crew had to be forced to come back several days to fix problems obvious even to non-professionals. The dirt flew all over the block and CFY had to pay a neighbor to clean his car. Our rain barrel clogged and collected buckets and buckets of roof "sand" washed off from iffy roof areas the crew covered with tiny grains that are still poisoning our plants and yard 18 months later. The water test left 1"-3" pool on the roof, but we could not find another roofer to redo someone else's job. Initially uncooperative and obnoxious but unwilling to get his insurance company involved, Luis finally offered to return our deposit while refusing to pay for fixing the damage his crew caused. Even that limited offer never materialized and now he would not return calls. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more
