I was off site during much of the work which involved replacing the failed clay pipe with a Polyethylene pipe. This involved using a hydraulic anvil which breaks open the old piple while pulling the pulling the Polyethylene pipe through the old hole. Trenching was needed only at the two ends. Without this equipment being available and entire outdoor cement staircase overlaying the pipe would have had to be demolished and replaced! Alvin sent photos and video throughout the entire job. The cement work closing up the two end connection points looked like a cement contractor did the work. Very clean! They used a camera through an opening that I had in my bathroom and found a major root blockage issue about 60 feet down the main line which they showed to me as well. The services Jose has provided have ranged from toilet swaps and exchanging water heaters to underground pipe repairs. That gets us to today's repair adventure. First, let's rewind a few years back. There was a major leak around our water meter near the street... in unfortunate close proximity to a large, sidewalk-lifting tree. Jose & crew dug under the sidewalk onto the front yard to make certain the leak wasn't widespread and replaced the pipe linking our meter to our house. After replacing the failing pipe, Jose informed that we would eventually want to replace the entire length of water line, from the meter to the house. This was no upsell--just sensible, future looking maintenance. It so happens that very recently I had been hearing water running late at night, even when no one in our house was using it. I recorded the sound and sent it to Jose. He had confirmed my fear: that water had been running--but for how ? We have no way 5. Jose and Nick dropped by later in the morning to check our meter... and, sure enough, the needle was spinning like the millisecond hand of an analog stop watch. After a short, concise conversation about the scope of the repairs, Jose and Nick promptly got to work, digging a trench for the pipe that would reroute our home's main water line.
