It's been long, hot Summer, especially with our hvac system on the fritz again! Ernie and his company were recommended to us by friends (thanks, yuse guys!), who said that he was honest, and hard-working, with reasonable pricing...and a great guy ta boot! Man, were they right!! Given the age of our hvac system (wish it could draw a check from Social Security!), it took two visits to get the cobwebs out, and ac back up and running, but of course, it was worth it! Ernie was on-time, professional, polite and took the time to listen to our questions, explain what he was doing or going to do, and ultimately, what his feedback was on the state of our ailing ac...and he had a great attitude!!! Upbeat, positive --- imagine your favorite brother showed up to help with your ac, but instead of being like your brother, who would rather sit around and drink your beer and watch the game all day while your place felt like a sauna inside the sun, Ernie combined yer best bro's great attitude with a serious work ethic, mechanical skill, outstanding communication, and a strong desire to assess and resolve what was going on with our ac. This would have been the perfect opportunity for a less scrupulous owner-technician to start playing up how old the unit was, how it might give up the ghost any second now, and how we would be miserable and hating life if we did not pull out the plastic and spring for a brand new replacement hvac system immediately, right? Well, did I mention that Ernie was a great guy (on top of knowing his stuff technically)? He checked the system out from top to bottom, performed some light maintenance, and was able to get our system back up and running again! YESSSS---!!! While acknowledging the age and condition of the hvac system, he smiled and said, "It's running now, so I can't see why you would replace it." No, this was not someone secretly rubbing his hands together looking to take advantage of a stressful and tough situation. That said, yep, we did discuss the inevitable and what the pricing and other logistics might look like when the angels finally show up for our ac and we need to replace it... But there was never any pushy technician-as-salesman pressure or fear games or any of that nonsense! Nope --- Ernie is straight shooter with all cards out on the table. We now trust his work and definitely trust him, and while it is still sweaty hot outside, Winter ain't that far away, and if the heating portion of our system starts acting bananas, who are we gonna call...? Not Ghostbusters, I'll tell ya that...it's going ta be Ernie, fer sure! Looking down the line, when time comes to replace our hvac system, as soon as we hang up our mourning clothes, Ernie Perez and Neo's hvac is going to be our first phone call. My AC went out on a sat evening during the hottest weekend of the year is the San Fernando Valley. Temps of 110 for 5 days straight. The technician came to my house & went up in the. attic. Water leaks from the ceiling when we use the AC. The technician from Neo asked me how old my AC system is. I told him 23 years & right away, he said I should get a whole new system. He said I should get a new condenser & new furnace. He also said that the Freon in the old system is hard to get. I called another guy from another company & he was able to repair the system by just replacing the evaporator. There is no more leak. I saved more than $10,000 compared to Neo's quote. read more

My home is older and only had 6" ducts going into the bedrooms. He replaced them with larger sized ducts that allow for more airflow, as well as added a vent to a room with large windows to help keep the temperature down, and also replaced my thermostat. So get this. A/C goes out in the middle of the day yesterday. Its already 85F in the house. Its getting hotter. Panic sets in. Couple of quick Google searches, I'm not 100% sure I can fix it - so to Yelp I go! Within 15 minutes I get a reply from Ernie with the laughable comment of "I can be there in an hour" ... I didn't believe it. I texted him back anyway, what the hell right? If he can't be here that fast as least he replied quickly. We chatted on the phone for a second - he was in someone elses attic finishing a job, and told me he could ACTUALLY be there in an hour or less. I still didn't believe it. Sure enough - he's here faster than estimated, immediately knows whats wrong (blown capacitor), fixes it super quick, sprinkles a little magic around some bare-ish cables with some electrical tape and vanishes like an HVAC fairy godfather. Do I recommend? Oh hell yes. Just look at this timeline: 3pm - oh no, AC is out! Panic google searches! 4pm - give up and contact people on Yelp. 5:45pm - everything is fixed and house is cooling down. After having a large company come out for a routine summer maintenance (a company that had a lot of positive reviews), the tech tried to run a con job on me, gave me a $5k estimate, and told me that if I left a 5-star yelp review, the service visit would be free and he would be eligible to get a $300.00 bonus for a contest they were having. As I didn't trust the service I had just received, I contacted NEO's A/C AND I AM GLAD I DID!! Ernesto was immediate with his response and he set me up for an appointment. On the day of the appointment, he was 15-20 minutes early, super-professional, and provided white-glove service. He gave my system the once-over and found two areas requiring attention, showed me the issue(s), and replaced the parts on a 17-year old unit that is blowing ice-cold now.
