We went yesterday for a family meal. There were 5 of us total . We were seated immediately and drink order taken. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer- very good. We ordered 2 burgers ( fries and homemade chips were great) , one buffalo chicken wrap with a Greek salad , one prime rib sandwich and a Louisiana chicken with asparagus . Everything was delicious. First time here, and had a Greek salad and the black and blue bacon burger. It was fantastic! Burger cooked just as asked. Salad was fresh, and came out with oil and vinegar, as well as salt and pepper. Hands down the best restaurant in Cookeville and I don't understand how the ratings are not higher than other establishments in this town. Everything was amazing and well seasoned. The potato skins won 5 stars all on their own. Prices are better too! You could pay $35 for a filet mignon at Savor which will need to be doused in A1 sauce to add flavor OR pay $29 for a perfectly cooked filet mignon that is seasoned and comes with Au jus on the side that just elevates the flavor even more. After a day of antiquing, we "google" searched "steakhouse" and found this local place among the chains. We ordered the 12 oz ribeye, and two sides. All dressings are housemade. House salad made with romaine, cherry tomatoes, red onion and shredded cheese. The blue cheese dressing was delicious, as well as the ranch, served as one of our sides. Iced teas were fresh. Could use more ice. Asked for a separate glass, it was brought quickly. Bartender was our server, attentive without being obnoxious. Hands down this was the best steak, we've had in a while. Well seasoned, juicy, flavorful cooked perfectly. Housemade macaroni and cheese and country green beans were our sides of choice. Double yum. When ordering, truly cooked to perfection. Went with a group of six people (we are not from Cookeville). Sat for over an hour with zero drinks not alcoholic or even water. Finally the hostess brought us waters and silverware . Our appetizers came and we still had no drinks nor did we have silverware. Finally after talking to the waitress about where our drinks etc were we finally were able to order our food. Those who ordered steaks did say that their steaks were good. I ordered a prime rib sandwich medium and it was beyond well done. The au jus was incredibly salty. Two of the baked potatoes that came with the steaks were undercooked. The salad for one steak never came, the salad I ordered was drowned in dressing and tasted like it sat in it for at least a few hours. The alcoholic beverages were beyond late and not great. The poor manager was also acting as a waitress and bartender. I will say the manager did comp our poor service and meals. The waitress we had was rude, she ignored us after we asked to speak to the manager. Our drink refills never happened and the waitress was apologizing to the table behind us even though they arrived after us and got their drinks and meals before us. Beware of going to this restaurant not even necessarily because of the food as much as the service (lack there of). Until they get staffing correct I can't see this restaurant making it for long anywhere despite it being recommended to us by the local Harley Dealership. When the food came out, it was delicious, and reasonably priced. The thing that stuck out at me was that over the bar, in LATE JULY, they still had Christmas decorations up!!!! What the hell? No matter how good the food is, this sends an IMMEDIATE message to your customers that you are lazy, and well, just don't care. Little did we know the server never even took the order of the couple who was sat BEFORE us. We had drinks and appetizers, and they had NOTHING. I immediately felt bad. Their order should have clearly been taken before ours. We finally ordered each of us ordered a ribeye steak 1 a 16oz and the other a 12oz. After waiting a bit for our food, our server comes to tell us they are out of ribeyes. Ok, so we'll take a flat iron steak. Nope, they were out of that, too. I personally don't like the NY, so I chose not to order a steak. I'M SORRY, HOW CAN YOU BE A STEAKHOUSE AND BE OUTTA STEAKS? I ordered the 8oz filet with fries and broccoli on the side and an Ace Pear Cider. Menu says it's the best steak in town and, granted I haven't tried other steaks in the area, that statement holds. Only complaint is the patio. It's a WIP as evidenced by the wood beams they just put in. Had a massive bug problem which I'm assuming will be solved when the patio is finished. Dog friendly on the patio which is a huge plus. Overall a great value considering the steak to price ratio. read more

Very disappointed. We had gone here as a recommendation from family, but we were very unimpressed. The "Farmhouse Cheese Platter" was truly a joke. There were four cheeses sliced from blocks that could have been from Kroger down the street and crackers straight out of a multi-pack from the store as well-- one was even shaped like a butterfly. There was the tiniest amount of cranberries sprinkled and maybe three candied pecans. For $17, we could have made our own at home with more exciting ingredients. --If you're hoping for a charcuterie board style-- this is NOT it. After receiving the plate of cheese and crackers, we decided to only order appetizers. We tried the "Cheese Stick Roulette" and there was nothing roulette-y about it. There were a couple of long cheese sticks, a couple of normal-sized cheese sticks, and a few little cheese curds. We anticipated some being spicy or having completely different flavors and textures... they didn't. Finally, we had the "Pizza Rockefella" and, though better, was still lacking. It was creamy and crunchy; however, the jalapeños had no kick, the hot sauce was also fairly bland, and the shredded chicken was very dry. We really had high hopes for this place as it had almost 5-star reviews on here and Google. My husband and I along with our labsky came here for dinner last weekend. We chose this place 1) because it was dog friendly, 2) we were excited for some prime rib and 3) the reviews. I ordered a dirty martini, my husband ordered a beer and we started off with deep fried mushrooms and asked for a bowl of water for our dog. Our drinks arrived and mine being a martini was served in a highball glass (no big deal pretty good), my husband enjoyed his beer, the mushrooms were delicious but no water for the dog. We ordered the prime rib medium rare closer to rare with a side salad and french fries. Once again we asked for a bowl of water for the dog. We ordered another round of drinks and this time my martini came out in an even smaller glass than before. We waited to be seated for quite a while even though it was 4:00 and only one other customer in the place. We ordered our food and waited, waited waited for drinks. Finally 20 minutes after sitting down we asked where our drinks were. The waitress said, Oh I'm so sorry I forgot! " and ran to get our drinks. In the meantime another group sat down, got drinks, soup, salad, and entrees while we were still waiting. At this point there were about 6 tables of customers so it wasn't like they were slammed. After we'd been there an hour I asked about our food. The manager came out and said sorry, there was a miscommunication with the kitchen and they were just dropping our order now.
