I am a little disappointed to be honest. I went here with two friends from the area who raved about eating here.... Things I learned about this particular locating: Do not bother with the brisket nachos. You will get nachos, a ton of beans, cheese sauce and a tiny portion (there had to have been less than a 1/4 cup) of brisket. Do the pork version instead. This is more of a drive thru and go place. There is no inside seating. The outside deck that they have is closed. There are two tables in front of the walk up window to sit at but no other seating. Would I go back? The best thing about Whitt's is getting the Vinegar sauce instead of the traditional red sauce. Great flavor when it soaks into the meat. Also, having the slaw and mayo completes the sandwich. read more

This place is dangerous. For health reasons, I can't eat allot of red meat; but it's fucking good. I'm not from around here and I was walking around, looking for something inexpensive to eat. In the distance, I saw a "barbecue" sign and decided to walk over and take a look at the menu. The prices were right. All of the sandwiches were under $7. The helpful worker recommended the brisket over the pulled pork, so I went with his suggestion. You can get it either on a bun or "cornlite bread" which is essentially cornbread. Chicken and dumplings e'ry day! Made a stop on the way to mama's house from the airport in Nashville. Ordered brisket on a bun and chicken and dumplings in the drive thru. This place had great food but not good enough to make up for the bad service. I had to order my food twice and my drinks 3 times! This guy taking the order apparently never heard of a pen and a piece of paper. I placed my order the first time completed my order their phone was ringing so he left the window to answer it. Then he came back and said what did you order again ? Then when the food was ready he asked what did you have for your other two drinks again? Love Whitt's barbecue sandwiches, which as previously noted, come dressed with mayo, cole slaw, bbq sauce and pickles; just the way I like 'em! Unlike several other places in town that just give you the meat on a bun, plain, with the sauce on the side; and you must purchase a side of slaw to put on it. Others serve the 'saucy' kind of bbq, which tends to taste rather processed (and usually is), with soggy meat that's soaked in a sort of sweet sauce. This is the only place I know of where you can purchase a sandwich made with real pulled pork or beef with all the fixings on it, at a very reasonable price. I'm also a fan of the chicken and dumplings, another item that's hard to find, especially in a drive-thru. Special mention to the BBQ baked potato, which is a very large potato topped with your choice of pulled, smoked meat, grated cheddar, and sour cream. You can't go wrong with the food here. read more

My friends are I had hiked Cummins falls and were starving afterwards we stopped by and got the family style option pull pork along with two sides and a gallon of sweet tea for about $30, there were 6 of us and we had left overs. read more
