I came here on a Monday for lunch and unfortunately left disappointed. The menu shows also labeled the ginger chicken as "Hainan chicken" but this is more boiled rather than poached in broth style so more plain tasting. If I could only order one, it would be the #22 Ma Chu Kreung Sach Kor soup, it just hits all the right notes for me in terms of flavor. With that said, at nearly $20 for the soup, I wish it came with rice. Portions are generally shareable, but it's definitely on the pricier side. Brought some family here for a late lunch because we were craving Kuyteav (Cambodian noodle soup). Since Kuyteav is generally a breakfast food, there's only so many places in Long Beach you can even order a bowl past morning time. Luckily, Little La Lune is one of them! Since everyone loves a secret menu, here's a secret tip you won't find on the menu: Try it dry style (Kuyteav "Kouk"). The noodles are served on the side with all the soup toppings and have just the slightest bit of flavoring cooked in, while you get the broth with a piece of pork bone used to on the side where you can find more meat attached. This adds a whole new dimension to the noodles but also lets you really savor the flavor of the broth more--and they definitely knocked it out of the park with this one! Even on a blistering hot day, it hit the spot. While you're at it, order the fried twin bread (Cha Kway, or in chinese called Youtiao). It's delicious on it's own but even better when you dip it in the soup--it comes out hot, fresh, crispy, and clearly made to order. Every place makes Cha Kway slightly different, and I would say Little La Lune does theirs a little more chewy and dense. I actually like this better because it stands up to dipping in the soup a lot more! This place is definitely a Long Beach staple for Cambodian food--consider stopping by here next time you want a warm bowl of noodle soup! During my Beef Stick frenzy, I found the most incredibly tender and juicy version here! The skewers carried a tasty smoky flavor from the charred bits and a light lemongrass seasoning. Great service. I didn't see Nom Hing on the menu, but upon request, the server said they do have it - It felt like I unlocked a secret item! The Cha Wai and Nom Hing came out steaming hot and, to my surprise, weren't greasy at all. I think the Nom Hing is denser and tastier than the Vietnamese version (banh tieu.)  Reasonable prices, yummy Cambodian classics, and food made fresh to order - you can't really go wrong with anything here! The parking is a bit limited but the interior is very well polished. The tables are clean and I like their style of using a large piece of glass/acrylic over top of the table. They have a lot of neat decorations on display. I ordered a Beef Lok Lak on Rice (steamed rice) and it took 8 minutes for the food to arrive. It also came with a yummy complimentary bowl of soup. The dipping sauce provided is lime with salt and pepper. It's one of my favorite dipping sauces. The vegetables seems to be dressed with a light and sweet soy sauce. I think that the dish could use some more beef, but that might be the compromise between ordering with rice as opposed to the menu item that is just Beef Lok Lak. Compared to other Lok Laks I've tried, this version has smaller pieces that result in a crispier sear and feels more firm. XO Fried Rice(Shrimps and Beef) Special XO sauce, eggs, green onion, jalapeno, tomato, and cucumber. 4. Me Ka Taing(Beef and Shrimps) Big rice noodles, eggs, straw mushrooms, and carrot. Was able to get a taste of everything. The broth was delicious, and the temperature was nice and hot, with good quality and amount of meats and vegetables served. Additional spices or sauce are provided and present at the table. Our server, Kim, and her team were very polite and courteous. Excellent on the timely checking to see if we were alright. A friend took me here for my birthday. Small restaurant but food was good. I had the regular size beef balls noodles with Chinese donut on the side for dipping. Everyone raves about this place but for a place that gets so much love, they sure did make it impossible to try to accommodate my order. Apparently they won't do any substitutions at all. What if someone is allergic to something? Me personally, I just didn't want noodles. I've dined at high end restaurants and also hole in walls that only take cash when it comes to Vietnamese, Thai, and Cambodian cuisine. I was picking between this place and Cyclo Noodles tonight as I'm very sick and need some sort of soup/broth to combat this cold. Cyclo noodles would have happily swapped the noodles for rice or the Chinese donut. Anyway so I told them, ok you know what that's ok please give it to me however it comes. No substitutions etc. I sent my sister to pick it up since I'm so sick currently, and all she knew was to ask for the phone order. I ordered a beef stew. It came with noodles. Take a look at the pictures below. Why was there a dinosaur bone in the broth? If they were going to throw a huge bone why not on the noodles or on the side? This bone took up more than half the container the soup came in. Once removed there was only half the broth left in there. This was not ok. In all my years of eating Asian cuisine and other types in general, I've never seen a giant bone being sent in the broth for a TO-GO order. This was definitely a way that they were cheap and saved money but giving less stew. This was really upsetting as I really ONLY wanted the stew, I told her that so many times. I am really sick and don't want noodles, I would be ok with just the stew and the meat. It makes me think she did it on purpose. Why throw a huge bone in there!! Really though, look at the picture. First time visiting a Cambo/Khmer restaurant for me I think? Went with the fam so was able to get a nice brunch spread. I love that Cambodians make porridge with mixed pork offal. Absolutely delicious and warms the soul. The cha kwai (fried fresh to order!) is a little doughier and breadier than our OG Chinese youtiao, but is somehow just so perfect dipped into the porridge. The best dish, though, may be the pork chitterlings, dare I say it better than the Chinese version. Sliced thin, fried to a bite-sized crunch with just enough rich meatiness to it, paired with a tangy sauce and some fried rice? I think this is the perfect intro for anyone who is interested in getting over any squeamishness you may have towards chitterlings, or offal in general. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. My dad doesn't usually like chitterlings very much and he was digging in as enthusiastically as the rest of us. Phnom Penh noodles were pretty dang good too and I'm glad I got to try the student noodles which seem pretty similar to pad thai. We were in the mood for Cambodian food, so decided to check out La Lune. They have a small parking lot, and the restaurant is quite pretty inside. Service was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The menu is fairly large. We ended up ordering a noodle dish, beef with watercress soup, fried large intestines with rice, and two deep fried breadsticks. The rice dish came with a complimentary bowl of big bone broth (dine-in only). Everything was very tasty, though the soup was a bit sweet for me, and the intestines overly fried for my tastes. I am also more partial to the Taiwanese version of the fried dough sticks (i.e. 油條), which are more oily but lighter and crispier; the Southeast Asian version is usually more dense. Prices are fair, so we will definitely consider coming back! FYI, only open until 5PM, so this more of a breakfast/lunch place. read more

They are so good fresh, and they're good even when they are not fresh. Though, typically they are made fresh. The water though, they give you has a super thin slice of lemon in your water. I thought that was hilarious though, it does absolutely nothing to the water. The restaurant is small, the parking lot is small, so never expect this place to be crowded. Unlike Phnom Penh Noodle Shack, this place can take you in and seat you anytime. They are almost always empty. If not empty, it's just you and another party.
