This year I finally participated for the first time in the popular U-pick blueberries at the farm! They have a larger one at Mercer Slough too, but I heard it got more crowded there and decided to try Lake Larsen instead. I went on a Sunday morning before peak hours at around 10 am, so there wasn't a line or crowd. Price is 2.50 per lb and the minimum is 2 lb, so if you pick less than that you need to pay a flat rate of $5. I thought the price was pretty reasonable, even with the minimum 2lbs, you got a LOT of blueberries. It's a fun experience, being able to hand-pick fruit yourself and to take it home and either eat it, bake it, turn it into a jam, etc.. They also have a produce market later in the day where they sell fresh vegetables from the farm. The farm is well maintained, the area wasn't muddy when we arrived and it was pretty clean. They give you a pail to pick blueberries and then you can weigh it at the end once you're done. If you don't want your berries touching the bottom of the bucket, I'd recommend getting some bags or plastic grocery bags from home to put them in. You don't need gloves as the trees are around our height and don't have thorns or anything. Website recommended bringing bug repellant. There is a sign saying there are active wasps/bees nests; I didn't see any around, but it's probably better to be cautious and watch the ground as you walk. Don't know how it took me so long to finally visit the blueberry farm, but I'm definitely coming again every year! Super fun experience

You can choose from a variety of fishes as well. They were pretty fresh and yummy. The guy working there was really nice. He had a lot of advice and suggestions. The place is literally a fish market so not a dine in place. Parking is ample. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet and calm. The stuff is sometimes pricey but when they do deals like this, it's worth it. You are asked the usual questions of have you been in contact with anyone who has been sick before entering. Inside, the booths were spaced apart. From what I noticed, there were 2-3 strawberry booths, 4 veggie+fruit booths, 2-3 flower booths and a handful of other miscellaneous booths in the realm of food. Given the size, it's an easy market to walk around, look at prices and decide what you want within 30 minutes. An update: I went again this week for more cherries. Compared to last time where we were still in phase 1, there were more people visiting + 1 more vendor I didn't see last time, popcorn! I just wanted to add that they are limiting the number of people inside, and the person with the questions has a spray bottle of sanitizer if you want any sanitizer.

Aside from the sales offerings, I still think the pricing on items seems a little higher than T&T and S-Mart. Shopping experience has improved a little as there are smaller crowds at the store because of the T&T effect. It was and still is a pain to check out as the line can be long. Wish they had self checkout. If you want a quicker shopping experience, shop here on weekdays and avoid coming in on weekends.

On a visit to a Miami's Whole Foods, noticed that they sell Golden Osetra Caviar from TSAR NICOULAI ($94.99 for an ounce). Like some other sale items, there is more of a discount if Prime member, so got the item for $76.99. In the same area, there are caviar accompaniments like blinis and creme fraiche, so got some of that too. Self checkout was easy: able to use the Amazon app to generate a barcode for my account, and was able to use the Amazon credit card to pay for it. The receipt was sent directly via email, but printing is possible as well. Well...the caviar ended up being not good even though the expiration date was in May (2 months out): mushy and tasted a bit like mud. My daughter and I looked online to see if that was what it was supposed to taste like, and decided that it was not...something in the supply chain had ruined it. Returning it the same day was hassle-free, with the employee just asking the reason for the return, and returning the amount back to my credit card. Don't do food returns much, so wanted to give props to Whole Foods for making it easy for a valid reason.
