Unlike the Wallingford Farmers Market which runs concurrently with this one and has more of a slant for prepared foods, this market has a focus on fresh local produce. There are a lot of fruit and vegetable stands here with a smattering of specialty food stands. Though it is not really one I would recommend if you want to get a bite. It is more of a place to go to stock your home with locally produced grocery items.

Haven't met a farmers market we didn't like!! Till now!!…read more I get that its covid. But man this place is snobby. And very much un-fun!! They have lines/tape around all over so you can't just enter. You do have to walk all the way to 5th and something for an entry. Which also include a huge line, a very unnecessary loud teenage band playing ( tone deaf loud) next to all the restaurants/their outdoor seats. You cant social distance even if you try. All I wanted was some fresh flowers for the cemetery and we ended up walking the whole market twice from outside trying to find an entrance. They do have a different entrance where they turn everyone away in the scorching hot heat! And last but not least: No dogs allowed? What? Isn't that the whole point of farmers market? Family/dog friendly? Baci got his socializatio in as a tiny pupper from Ballard market. It's like a puppy parade every time you go there. We ended up skipping because of this!! I did see 2 old ladies left their dog outside, next to the loud as hell band so they can walk the market for something. We watched the sad pup the whole time till they return! Really though. No flowers/spices are worth leaving your beloved old dog behind Overall, the least fun farmers market ever!! if it werent for random facemask, you wouldnt even know there was covid. Hot! Over crowded! Many flowers stands. Not that special!

Lots of flowers and crafts, some produce, and fair food is all available for the pickings. Always walk through the entire thing before buying. A lot of the products sold are sold by multiple people and you can easily save money by simply walking a few feet away and buying from another shop. .

They just moved to a new lot this year with much more space and walkways to move around in. There are lots of tables and chairs they set up in the center to eat your food in in the sun or rain. In the afternoons, they give out free bags of groceries with foods sourced right from the farmer vendors at the market!

Love the small workshops on how they use these their products. Introduction is always welcome. Addressing situations where budget is a concern, teaching children how to sustain themselves as they get older and educating the wider audience to add to their repertoire. I think planning more progressive cooking classes would help. Our neighborhood is active and planning progressive dinners. I hope to take what I've learned from the market and pass it onto my neighbors. The ambiance has been raised a level, compared to the 18th ave location. Both were warm but much more eye catching on Henderson.

Wherever we travel, we love checking out the local farmers market! We ran into this farmers market meeting a friend for a hike. We were too early since they don't open until 10am. Afterwards, we came back to check it out. Love the sense of community. It got really busy with some vendors having long lines. Fresh vegetables, fruit, amazing cider, meat, cheese, fresh oysters, fresh mushrooms, bread and baked goods. And, of course, gorgeous fresh flowers!! The food options are great with grilled salmon and breakfast sandwiches. We left with fresh apricots, cherries and a bottle of Apple Cider. Parking on side streets can get full near the farmers market. It gets quite busy. There are no bathrooms. It is also dog friendly.

I recommend Lady Jaye for lunch, Bakery Nouveau for baked goods, and Panterelli for beverages and dessert! It got quite busy at times at several stands, but it went quickly and everyone was chill about it. It was not chaotic or stressful at all, no claustrophobic vibes here. It was also fun to people watch to see what other patrons were buying. Many people were out with the entire family and pets and enjoying the great weather. I can't wait for summer to roll around and for more stuff to come to market!

This area was impacted by heavy flooding last year, so I think it is important to support farms here since they produce food for the community. The selection is not large, but the quality is great. Items like beets, kale, lettuce and turnips. Given the farm follows no-till organic practices, the produce is also a good value and more accessibly priced than typical organic farm stands and comparable to conventional produce. If you are looking for fresh and local organic produce, this is a good produce stand to check out.

The fresh made ancho salsa was my favorite and the tamales freshly steamed were moist with a nice slightly al dente feel. The star of the farmers market was this Italian inspired stall. They had many offerings from porchetta, pancetta, mortadella and pistachio crema. The toasted bread was delicious and I had the mortadella and mozzarella crema sandwhich. Outstanding! The sourdough loaf I got was exceptional and it was nice to see stalls with families and teenagers manning it. I liked this feel and vibe. It was right by this e bike store and one could easily go to third place books and have a nice lunch. Very nice experience.
