Great food, Sarataj and Bhavan gave lovely service and the vibes were lovely. The food was also made well, and almost reminded me of Bombay.

We had Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan, Samosa Chaat, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Methi Malai Kofta (mild), and Saag Paneer (mild). The service was friendly and quick, and the Lassi was fantastic. The Samosa and Tikki was in the Gravy which I wasn't expecting, made both soggy and ruined them for me. The Saag Panner was too bland, but the Malai Kofta was good. Very nice indoor seating. I got onto the chaat bhavan email list after placing some catering orders in the past and over the past few months they had been enticing me with an all you can eat buffet at their newly opened Mountain View location. I have been to chaat bhavan countless times in the past and mostly order the same dishes so I was excited to try other items which this buffet could possibly offer. It was only when we reached the restaurant did we know that they don't have a buffet. It was disappointing but since we were anyway there we decided to stay back for lunch. Restaurant doesn't look large from the outside but is huge inside. Definitely larger than their Sunnyvale location. Menu is exactly the same. And as usual we ordered our regular favorites. Everything was on point. The best was the vada pav. It has always been a crowd pleaser and I had catered it quite a few times in the past. The Bhel which came as part of the Bhel thali fell flat: no tantalizing flavors, it was just salty. read more

So I came in not knowing much about this place but it turned out to be a pretty pleasant experience right from when I walked in the staff were polite and seemed like they actually wanted people to have a good time they checked in here and there without being pushy and had no problem answering questions or giving a quick suggestion when asked the food was honestly better than expected I had a few different bites from the menu and everything had its own flavor nothing tasted like it came from a microwave which is more than I can say for some spots and the way the food looked when it came out kind of showed they take pride in what they serve not fancy just clean and fresh with a good balance of textures and tastes the environment was relaxed and not too noisy which helped make the whole thing feel easy and comfortable I would say its one of those places where kindness and care show through the little things read more

Pretty good Indian restaurant. This place used to be Chaat Paradise until last fall, then turned into Chaat Bhavan. The interior is much nicer now, and the service is much better as well. Very friendly waiters and hostess. I got the Masala soda which was simultaneously salty, sour, spicy and sweet. I drank the whole thing but probably wouldn't order it again. I saw several other tables order the mango lassi, so maybe that's the one to get. The pakoras were pretty good. Aloo gobi matter was also pretty good. The okra dish we got was too salty and dry. The saag paneer was also pretty good. Value was OK. I think we should have ordered more chaat because of the name. read more

One of the very few Indian places that is actually vegan friendly. The menu clearly marks which items are vegan and all the waiters are aware what a vegan is and let me know if any of the non-vegan items can be veganized easily. I still have a couple of minor nitpicks - sometimes the labeling is not correct and the specials are not correctly labeled. However, I'm not going to dock any points for that because in most other respects, they are far ahead of most Indian places when it comes to vegan friendliness. The food is excellent and the number of vegan options is large. Service has tended to be great whenever I have been there. All in all, a great place overall and even more so if you are vegan. read more

My favorite place in the South Bay for Chaat. My favorite thing on the menu is the Chana bhatura. It is served with a delicious fried puffy bread and a chickpea sauce. The house thali and vegetable biryani are also great. It can get very busy around dinner time, but it is always worth the wait. read more

This place is fire. Every dish fresh, screams flavor. To get out of my home kitchdi rut, I got their lesser known sabudana and the medium sized pearls glisten strew with peanuts roasted and salted, with cilantro, served with a little tub of yogurt. The chaat with tamarind chutney, mint wait, yogurt, milder spices, crunchy paid and soft dumplings, phenomenal. Their methi path brought back insanely positive rush of memories from when my mom used to make it. The spinach paratha is no slouch either, both of these needs just a touch of raita or yogurt, maybe pickles and you're set (both of which they brought out). Their pain puri also bomb, with generous accoutrements. The ambience is much much more civilized and stunning, way more than most cheat places, which more are a hole in the wall of self serve order at the counter. This place is gorgeously decorated with art work on the walls, table cloth starting, with booths and tables, a huge cavernous place, spanning east and west. The customer service was fantastic, with a young woman who took our order, nd infinitely patient, she explained the difference between dishes. Their menu is loooong, you'll need time to get through it, but they've simplified it by structuring it according to types of plates. I wish I'd gotten the name of the young lady who took such great care of us. The races are so freaking reasonable with huge portions. It's in a strip mall, so plenty of free parking. The only thing missing in this place? They don't have my favorite: dahi vada! They make everything else, so it's a mystery why this isn't on the menu. Please maybe think about adding it. read more

The food at this place is top-notch, even though it's a 100% vegetarian menu. The Cholay Patooray is the standout dish and the main reason I keep coming back--authentic and bursting with flavor! The food here has that homemade, comforting quality that makes every meal feel like it's made with love. I have ordered take-out with DoorDash many times. They have a big menu, but I have always seen all items to be available. The service is quick. The food is on its way in less than 15 mins. It is reasonably priced. As mentioned earlier, the quality and taste is great. Will order again.
