Stopped here on our way from LA to Bakersfield. Customer service was great. Not too busy in a Saturday night. Food was good - we ordered a torta, taco, enchilada, and burrito. Meat was delicious, especially the pastor!

Friendly customer service. Food was good. My half Mexican fiancé gave the the approval haha I was charged a dollar for cheese on the side. Was not expecting that nor given a heads up. That was annoying. But if you're on the side of the country, give them a try. They might look closed due to being empty and in the middle of nowhere but their open haha

Hands down, best Mexican food in Castaic if not the entire Santa Clarita Valley. The owner Jose takes pride in his food and it shows in every entree. Time after time I have never been let down. The Chile verde, enchiladas, flautas and menudo are my favorites. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning. Staff members were wearing masks. They provided hand sanitizer. My friend and I got two breakfast burritos to go, one with Carne Asada and the other with bacon. Burritos were definitely fresh and the potato pieces were large. The Asada burrito was better than the bacon burrito. The salsa that came with it had a nice kick to it as well. read more

We ordered some wet burritos (asada and pastor) that weren't bad but also weren't that great. The meat in both burritos was overcooked and dried out. The sauce wasn't very flavorful either and there wasn't a lot of melted cheese on top. My favorite thing was the chips and salsa. read more

I was out walking my dog, but wanted to eat at Chabelos. I opened the door and asked if they could accommodate outdoor eating with my pooch. Right away they brought seating & table, shortly thereafter chips & salsa! The waitress was so kind and nice taking our order, and even bringing water out for my pooch. I ordered the garlic shrimp, and I got a pile of lovely, garlicky, yummy shrimp!!! They came with rice, beans, guacamole & tortillas...so delish. Sissie had chicken tamales, and wasn't disappointed. Typically tamales are dried out lacking flavor. These were moist, flavorful & full of meat, with rice & beans too. Excellent food, service & prices will keep us coming back. We travel down the grapevine once a month so this is a convenient stop right off the freeway across from McDonalds. Give Chabelos a try you won't be disappointed, but come hungry for the generous portions! read more

I can't pass by highway 5 without stopping at my favorite Mexican restaurant. Definitely authentic, and reminds me of moms cooking. The food always has a fresh taste and the atmosphere is comfortable. The servers have great respect for their clients and the cook remembers regulars and their favorite plates. Mines is the Camarones a la diabla, if you like spicy with a kick of sweet don't let this plate pass you by. read more

First time diner here. This place is awesome. It looks unassuming from the outside but there is inside seating and takeout and the food is excellent. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. The chicken was tender, the meal was not overly sauced either. Everything was fresh. My spouse came for breakfast that morning and said the huevos rancheros were to die for! The guacamole was great and very smooth. The portions were good and not supersized. The people are nice too. I highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican!!!! read more

Just go! Food is excellent no matter what you order. We go here as often as we can. They are currently expanding their seating area so that will be nice for them and it will take it out of "hole in wall" kind of status. I get either camarones a la diabla or chilaquiles and my husband is a fan of the breakfast burrito, chili verde but honestly, everything is good. Just go. read more

This is now my favorite Mexican place in Castaic. Consistently good, prices are untouchable and portions are ample. Last time in had a torta w/carnitas, hold the beans. Nice sized sammich w/all the goodies. Chips were included and they were good. Packed a little pico de gallo and some salsa verde, both were good. The carnitas themselves were juicy and full of flavor. I'm so pleased every time i come here. Keep up the good work guys!! read more

I am so glad to have finally found a great Mexican restaurant since relocating. I really enjoy the Carne Asada Tacos. The sauce is spicy to me, so I get it on the side. I always get the tacos, but my husband has tried other things and has enjoyed them as well. The service has always been good, quick and friendly, and they do delivery through Grubhub. read more

I have to bow down to this little mom and pop shop. Amazing food and we literally tried a bit of it all. We went in with 25 people and basically filled up the spot but it was so worth it. Authentic Mexican food. Like if my grama cooked it that's how delicious it is. This place is a must and I live in Orange County so we were in the area and now looking to go back just for this place. Husband I were looking for something different and good. We tried Chabelos. We got the Chabelo burrito (oh my soooooo good!!!). The shrimp cocktail ( yummy and lots of shrimp and enough for two) and the steak street tacos ( great!!). It is a small place but worth the few minutes drive. read more

We found this restaurant on yelp while driving home from ventura. It had great reviews and right off the freeway so we decided to try it out. It's in a strip mall, which should have been a red flag. When we showed up it was empty. Literally no other customers. A few people came in while we were there but not many. The server was very friendly and prompt, no complaints there. The food, however, was just BLAH. Absolutely no flavor. We ordered the taquitos and the beef enchiladas and they tasted exactly the same. I thought maybe the red sauce would have some flavor but it didn't. I wouldn't come back unless they completely revamp their recipes. read more

Delivery order to Castaic Inn.. Called 30 min before closing, lady was super friendly, attentively went through the menu over the phone, offered additional plates and (as she heard my child in the background) she offered a cup with a lid!!! It doesn't get any better than that. She stated order would arrive in 15-20 minutes, order arrived in less than 15min. Taquitos rancheros (hand rolled taquitos) were delicious, and shrimp cocktail was flavorful and filling. They are definitely generous on portion. Recommend and will definitely return. read more

Our bowls were filled to the top and we will definitely be able to make a few meals out of them. So ive been going here for a while now. I must say things have changed alot. New owners. Service is just not the same as before. The portions have gotten alot smaller but they charge more. Doesnt add up. But today was the day i will stop coming. I saw the cook drop a piece of steak on the floor pick it up and put it back on the grill. After they noticed i saw that they put it on top of the warm table where the other food was. They finished my making my food and then when they thought i didnt see they put that steak on the customers plate and served it to him. Its one thing at your house to do that but when it comes to other peoples food come on. Who knows what could have been on that steak now. Bleach, dirt, grim, maybe feces. That is just text book no. Ive work in plenty of restaurants and i knew stuff like this could happen but to see it first hand made me sick. read more

We are new to the area and saw this place but we were unable to go in to the restaurant (the kids were asleep) so we came home and ordered the food on grub hub! 1st experience was amazing the food was delicious the staff was friendly overall great!! 2nd time I ordered was today and OMG today was better than the first time. My order was a bit tricky as I have some picky toddlers. there was a minor error and the staff went out of their way to make new ones and deliver w/in a matter of minutes~!!! The staff is kind, helpful and sweet. The food is delicious, authentic, and portion size is better then the other places in town!! Highly recommend for a sit down/delivery/ or to go!!! Thank you Chabelo's for saving the day again while I try to unpack a house full of boxes and entertain and feed 3 toddlers!!! read more

Food beverage and service are always impeccable. Always fun, accommodating, never stuffy. The atmosphere is as vibrant as the original Frontera with a more sophisticated bent. Noise level isn't bad after a a few drinks. We had very loud diners seater next to us. No fault of the Restaurant. Even the price is still reasonable. read more

I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur, especially my favorite food "Chili Colorado". My wife and I just happened to stop in to this place on a road trip. We are so glad we did. I found the best Chili Colorado I have had in 20 years or so and we highly recommend this place, I just wish I lived closer! read more
