Hands done the best damn margaritas and mojitos in the entire Lake Houston area. No competition at all. I'd venture to say one of the best bets for seafood as well. Get here on the weekends for the fresh catch and ask about oysters on the menu for the day. Still the best true Mexican dining experience in Kingwood, nothing else compares. I loved my meal at Chachi's Next Door! To start, we had guacamole with pork rind chips and I had a pineapple mezcal drink. My mom had been raving about the octopus tacos here so naturally I had to get those as my appetizer. They were fantastic! The octopus was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. It came with beans and rice that were both flavorful. For dessert we had a sweet tamale. I'd never had something like this before so I didn't know what to expect-- it was great. It came with butterscotch ice cream! This restaurant is a fun causal spot. Outside on their patio area they had live music and inside they have tables as well as a large bar with many TVs playing college football. We made a reservation to come here and they were able to hold my mom's favorite table which was very considerate! read more

When my family first moved to Kingwood, we were determined to find good restaurants we can love. My family loves Mexican food and we have tried different places in Kingwood. I would say Chachi's and Chachi's Next Door are our favorite Mexican restaurants in Kingwood. They have variety of items we love (tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesos, etc.). They include complimentary chips and salsa (it doesn't matter if you are getting food to go). They are very generous with their portions too. I would say only negative feedback is their rice. I don't think their rice is very good. I wish it was more moist and flavorful. It is very dry rice. I love that they have their own parking and service is always good. I appreciate that Chachi's has also never messed up my orders. Everything is packed nicely too. Sometimes, I come to Chachi's Next Door to have a drink and have their chips and salsa. I love Chachi's chips and salsa. It is thin, crispy, and freshly fried. I love their salsa too. I usually ask for another bowl of salsa because I eat all of it. I love that Chachi's make homemade tortillas and their tortillas are delicious. It is soft, chewy, and warm. I think their homemade tortillas make their food taste so much better than other Mexican restaurants around here. I do not like going to a Mexican restaurant where they use store bought tortillas. I want to eat food I can't make at home or it would take too much time for me to make it at home. I also don't know what is in their gravy sauce, but oh man, I love that sauce. My husband gets a burrito with the sauce over it. I am always taking his sauce. I love the cheese enchilada with their red sauce too. It is addicting. read more

First time visiting a couple of weeks ago. We arrived right around opening time, so there was not a crowd yet. Raul quickly greeted us at the bar with very welcoming conversation. After hearing that this was our first visit, he quickly and thoroughly explained the concept of their restaurant. Drinks were made to order, even the drinks that appeared to be the standard house drinks were explained in detail and able to be tweaked a little if we liked drinks a certain way. I described how I liked my drink and it came out perfect. Food was as promised, quick and delicious. The placed started filling up before we left, but it appeared that the staff was keeping up with everything. Good atmosphere. Light music not too loud. Couple of tvs, but not too many that they were detracting from the place. We will absolutely return to try again! Look forward to Raul's bartending again! read more

I had a very unsatisfactory visit to Chachi's Next door on Sunday, December 4th. I was also there with a friend, and she agreed the service was very poor. Although the food was bought to our table in a timely manner, the waitress did not come back and check on us at all! This is a Big No-No!! As a former service provider, I understand the importance of appropriately taking care of all of your customers with the upmost care and respect! My friend and I received very poor service, and we are very disappointed with this level of unprofessionalism from the staff we received on this day. read more

Well, my friend flew in from Ohio and she wanted to meet for brunch, so I told her several places I've never been and she wanted to try Chachis next door... well, first, my son and I walked in to make sure they weren't packed, and no one even acknowledged us. I saw my friend pulling up, so I went outside to say hi, then we all walked back in, just 5 of us. We were actually acknowledged and they told us where we can sit. About 5 minutes in, still no menus.. so we had to go get our own menus. 10 minutes in, still no one has come to our table... 20 minutes, we are looking around hoping that would clue one of the servers to come take our drink order... STILL NO ONE EVEN BATTED AN EYE OUR DIRECTION. the place wasn't even packed. They had maybe 5 of their tables occupied. Like how can you just ignore a whole table, not to mention just ours, but the table next to us ALSO had to get their own menus and were ignored. Like bruh, how embarrassing for yall to treat your guests that way. Not a good luck. Anyways, we walked out AND they still didn't try to say anything to us. We waited for an hour on a fairly slow night and never ate. After about 20 minutes 2 tables opened up. It took another 20 minutes for them to clean them off. The last 20 min was us sitting at the table; no water, no menu, no waiter. We just left. Terrible terrible service. read more

Such a tiny place, to the point I kept think it was an overflow restaurant for the Chachi's Restaurant in front of it. I ordered a classic paloma drink and my husband got the classic margarita on the rocks. The drinks were alright; the highlight of the drink was the salt on the rim, so that should say something. I ordered the chicken flautas plate(6 out of 10 because the rice was super bland, the crumbled cheese on the beans were good, and the flautas were -meh) and my husband ordered the quail plate(4 out of 10 because I tried it and he barely ate it because it was grilled, lots of flavor with vegetables on the side, but if you are looking for something hearty and to pair with a margarita, I wouldn't recommend the quail plate at all). We also had the queso blanco( 7 out of 10) for the appetizer and that was good; it comes with pork rinds(good for people on low carb or keto) and the queso had some flavor. Overall, the food was cool, probably wouldn't eat here again. We were sitting outside and it was chilly so that's probably why the queso cooled off and got really stiff so fast. Also, the menu is very small, as in limited amount of food you can order. The server told me they didn't have any gas so that's why they only had one heater outside that she said she took from the restaurant next door. read more

Manager and Waitress Suzana very unprofessional, rude with a frown on their face. Hours advertised on website are never honored and actually close earlier at their convenience. We have brought business to them our neighbors, family and friends and they always seem to embarrass us with their rotten attitudes. Literally they have put chairs up and flicker their lights as we just ordered our drinks, expecting us to chug our drinks and get the freak out. Raul on the the other hand is such a professional guy with such charisma making you feel right at home. Poor guy gets run over by his wife as she calls the shots there. the service was ... different. this is my 2nd time being here. 1st time was ... poor service but decent food, depending if you want Tex mex or real mexican style food. This is the 2nd time the service was snappy/with attitude and kinda pissy. Im a happy person but she was not. We.wanted to go to Chachi's as it's our neighborhood bar. Place is always consistent. But on this particular day the place as packed do we walked to Chachi's next door. The Low lighting outside and the cool temp outside did make it romantic and inviting. So we walked in and saw 4 couples do plenty of room. Not sure where the employees were. We seated ourselves and waited for 30 minutes before we do the first employee take food outside. 30 minutes later we saw the waitress get drinks for the table next to us. Not even a glance to our table. 1 hour later we walked out..by then they had sitting at the regular Chachi's. Not a good first impression and likely not to return.
