Chachi's is our go to place whenever we're in town. The food is amazing, especially the fajitas. The queso, salsa, and guacamole are delicious and taste fresh. The margaritas are strong but don't taste strong, which is great! We haven't really ate inside but it seemed clean, and enjoyable. We typically eat outside and the view was so pleasant. The service was fantastic, every wait staff we've had has been knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and funny. We highly recommend Chachi's! read more

Just left and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. The atmosphere felt rushed from the start, and as a repeat customer, this was by far the worst visit. We waited about 20 minutes for our waiter, and after our food arrived, he only checked on us once. It felt like he didn't have time to really listen when we ordered, and as a result, our meals weren't what we asked for. Overall, I felt unheard and neglected. The family loves Chachi's. We have been eating there for probably 11 years now pretty regularly. The staff is always friendly and fast. They keep the beer cold and your chip basket full. Is it the best Tex Mex out there? No not really the fajitas aren't the best. They taste like soy sauce to me but they're not the worst. The ranchero chicken tacos are great and the charo beans are good too. I would give them 5 stars but I feel like the bathrooms could use some attention. The service is always excellent and the delicious food is always served in a timely manner. We typically eat here for lunch, and when we are short on time they always come through. We met our dear friends at Chachi's that we had not seen in a long time. I'll start with the service. It was 5 Star! Our special guest requests were handled promptly and with a smile. The ambiance was Mexican and tastefully done. The top shelf margarita was among the best I have ever had, and the chips, salsa, and queso were excellent. I've been eyeing Chachi's for awhile and finally had a chance to try it out. First, staff was extremely nice and attentive. I also appreciate the recommendations as a first timer visiting. My fiancé's family & I showed up around 5pm on a Sunday without a reservation for an early dinner, and were seated immediately which was nice. Both the hostess & our waiter were incredibly friendly. The inside of the restaurant was somewhat spacious as well. As for the food, the chips were alright and the salsa was one of only two things that I wasn't a fan of. Their Guacamole was 5/5, definitely recommend trying it. Their ceviche was solid too, and I'm normally not the biggest fan of ceviche. The grilled jumbo shrimp fajitas were really good. The shrimp were large, fresh and prepared perfectly. The rice, sour cream & guac plate was money as well. I personally didn't like their tortillas, although others might enjoy them more than me. Still a solid entree overall though, especially because of how good the shrimp were. I also tried my fiancés carne asada, which is another entree I don't always like but very much liked it here. We have been coming to Chachi's for 2 years and still can't get enough of it. Service is always on point, warm welcome and treat you like family. They bring water, chips and salsa right after being seated. Tacos Al Cabon and the Tacos Tejanos is our go-to, food is very consistent. Chips were good but they didn't bother refilling my salsa which made it difficult to eat dry. Balcony was closed upstairs. Steady stream of customers even 2:30'ish (mid-afternoon) on a Saturday. Chimichanga had a dark hue but it tasted ok. Refried beans and Mexican rice did not taste good though. The beans had a weird after taste. Check-in gives you a small queso but only if you buy 2 adult entrees. Ample parking unless there's an event which there was when I went. Looks like they even have an annex to the side called Chachi's Next Door. I think the margaritas looked impressive. Much better options for Mexican in kingwood and Houston. read more

My husband and I love this place for date night. There's always a crowd, but somehow were able to get seated immediately for two (my guess is for larger tables there may be more of a wait). The food is great and so are the margaritas. They have an outdoor seating area and large bar with sports TVs on multiple games / channels. I really like the place. It's always packed and the wait is long but that's because it's a good place to eat at. I wouldn't consider this a very special Mexican restaurant just because to me it taste like most other Mexican restaurants, but I will say that I've never had a bad experience. The only reason I'm giving a 4 is because prices of drinks and plates are honestly Overpriced for what it is. I prefer going to a steakhouse for the price. Drinks and plates are more expensive than regular Mexican restaurants. Which isn't a big deal but there's also nothing different or better being offered it just tastes very normal. I've been to taco trucks with better tasting Tex mex Nonetheless the ambiance, servers, and overall experience is always good. 4/5 read more

We have always loved this local place and we are regulars eating here with our family at least twice per month. Tonight and one night a year ago with the same server we were charged automatic gratuity for a party of 6 and last year with a party of 5. 20% gratuity when I had to flag someone down to tell them my husband's dinner was wrong and to get my drink refilled. Nothing on the menu stating that. We tip generously so that's not the problem but an automatic tip for mediocre service of 6 people and not mentioned on the menu is disappointing. We orders led soft drinks for everyone and an appetizer so our bill was not cheap. I think it was the same server Angel both times. If I go back I will ask not to be served by Angel. read more

I declined the refund as that was not the intent of the review and accepted the apology. He also stated that he would review this situation with the staff as a learning experience. Original review: I can't leave a good review after todays experience. Walked in and we were quickly seated, but the person seating us was not outgoing and maybe appeared to be a kitchen employee or busser filling in. Did not give us a warm greeting. Drink orders were taken (ordered a top shelf margarita) and came quickly and was good. Margarita came with salt, even though I ordered without, but not a big deal because the drink was good. We had also asked for green salsa. It didn't come and we had to ask again for it. When it came, it had no flavor. Very plain and 'baby food' texture. Red salsa was good, but had to ask to get it refilled when both bowls were empty. Every other Mexican restaraunt always keeps your salsa bowls full. Weird thing was that the first bowls of red salsa was hot (temp)...When refilled it was almost cold, which was off putting for a 'roasted' salsa. Inconsistent. We ordered a chunky guacamole appetizer, chicken soup, and an enchilada trio plate. Chunky guacamole didn't come quickly. When we asked if they had it coming before the food, the waiter acted like he didn't know we ordered it, but then walked away quickly saying we're busy. Kind of rude. He did go get us a bowl of guac after that, but the avocado was too ripe, mushy and soft. We tried salting it and adding lime juice but couldn't eat half of it and sent it back and the waiter said he'd take it off the bill. When the food came, they brought (the original ordered) guacamole again. We tried it and it was the same mushy avacado. The soup was decent. Edible and finished. No major complaints here. The enchilada plate had one carnitas enchilada. The carnitas meet was so over cooked it was dry and couldn't eat half the enchilada. Mostly all of the meat in the enchiladas was over cooked and dry. Even though I was done after eating only half the plate, the waiter picked up the plate to clean the table without even asking if I was done or if I wanted a to go box. No big loss due to the quality of the plate, but contributed to the overall experience being bad. About the time the food was delivered, my margarita was about empty, but the waiter didn't ask if we'd want another. Next time he came by, had to ask for another. Before it could get here, decided that the half of the enchilada plate i had ate was enough and went to find the waiter to cancel the second drink since it had not been delivered yet. The other annoying thing was that the waiter kept placing things in odd locations on the table. Margarita was place almost halfway across the table. Chip refill was place directly in front of my wife instead of in the middle of the table. Seemed like we had to rearrange everything that was placed on the table. Overall: 1. Food was not up to par. 2. Service was lacking 3. Waitstaff maybe needs to be retrained on customer service. No plans to return. That said, there is a Chachi's Nextdoor restaraunt, right next door.
