Meh. The kitschy decor gave a nice mom-n-pop feel to the place. Service was good. But the food was just meh, if even that good. Great salsa but overcooked chips; or maybe they'd been sitting in the warmer too long. My food wasn't particularly flavorful. And my chicken enchilada had diced chicken whereas I was expecting shredded. My companion's enchilada had diced beef that was pretty much burned and too tough to eat. Emotionally we're trying to go to Titans just down the same block but there was such a long line and no tables we tried this instead. Great service! Multiple people checked on us throughout our meal. I had steak, cheese enchilada, cheese puff (tortilla filled with cheese, and refried beans. I have been driving by this place for decades.... but because of the great reviews on yelp my mom and I decided to try it out.... I'm so glad we did...I had the usual 2 plate dinner- taco- cheese puff-- guacamole and then cheese enchiladas. All very good and fresh tasting. My mom enjoyed her quesadilla and taco with charro beans. The place is very clean. Yes it's a hole in the wall but it's CLEAN! Wait staff very nice and attentive. Second time around here, so we stopped by again. I must say their salsa and chips are off the chizzain! We finally tried one of their cheese enchiladas and OMGEE it's so good. When I go visit my elderly Aunt in Humble, TX. We have the same conversation. She asks if I can bring her some tacos? Uh huh...and I ask from where? She says, "Taco Bell or Taco Cabana." It's my first time eating at this place. Their Menudo was good. If you order a side of rice and they ask you if you want small or large. I got large but the plate was large but portion of rice was small. All their staff was super friendly and had a mask on. And they close off every other table for social distancing. Used to bring my kids here, years ago.. I have passed by, often ,and wondered if the enchiladas were still so good. Thanks to Yelp, we stopped by here last week. Our "regular" Mexican place has become a zoo of noise and crowds, on a Thursday, so we ventured out to Isaacks Rd (near Humble High School). Looks like they have upgraded the interior since I was last here; bright, fun color scheme and decor, new flooring, and comfortable booths. Very clean interior. We were welcomed in, chose a table,and ordered margaritas to enjoy; they are served in chilled mugs, so the drink stays frosty. Chips and salsa are good; I prefer thin chips, but these seem nicely home made. Salsa does have a lot of onions, but it was very easy to skip them, when loading a chip. We chose combo plates, enjoyed fresh,simple, well made tacos, rice,beans, and the same wonderfully cheesy enchiladas I remembered! Good tamale; the masa was not too thick, smooth flavor. The ladies here were so friendly and never rushed us. They did stop by to see if we needed anything. None of this "not my section" stuff here,they are all willing to make their customer's experience the best, possible. We are surely putting DG on our regular rotation of favorite Mexican food restaurants,and look forward to trying the breakfast tacos, soon! read more

You will now find Spinach Enchiladas on the new menus. The breakfast tacos are incredible and the homemade flour Tortillas in addition to the red & green salsa top off the delicious flavor. So the food was good but it was nothing out of this world , I could've made this at home . However , the customer service was nice and the ladies were very sweet , one of the ladies even gave us a blessing . I would go back just to talk and hang out with my family . Okay..we picked up dinner here late one night about half hour before they closed. I have to say that the service was really good and we even were offered a margarita while we waited. I personally didn't like the marg and dont think there was much alcohol in it anyways. They were relatively quick on getting our to-go order out to us. I had to give it 3 stars because I think our tummies may not have liked something...so I'm not writing it off completely..because my taco al carbon was really good and I want to give them another try. Dos Gallos is a pretty regular spot of mine and for good reason. You walk into a quaint Mexican restaurant with rooster paintings and statues everywhere. We usually pick up our menus and seat ourselves, it is like home now. Once we figure out what we want our waitress greets us with a smile. Food is flavorful and the prices are great! Service is a bit slow but there aren't that many employees so we stop by when we know we have time to spare. I recommend the chile con queso and their enchiladas!
