First of all, the location. This place is in the cut. I found this on Yelp! My sons had a game out…read morehere in Simi Valley, so I Yelped it. I knew it was good basically because anybody who comes here had to look it up. They didn't just walk by or drive by. That was the first sign I knew the food was good. Number two, when I came in they had phone orders and everybody was ordering. This was around five o'clock on a Friday night. It was packed. I waited to get a seat and then I got one. The seating area really only holds about 20 people in there. I was trying to decide between the drunken noodles and the Pad See Ew. I went with the Pad See Ew. I also got the wontons. I was told the wontons had chicken in them. I was so hungry I didn't really see the chicken, but I will say this. If I travel around and eat, that Pad See Ew is in the top five. The Pad See Ew had hearty portions, pictures below. I liked the noodles and the thickness of them. The chicken was good. Good portion size. The food came out so hot I have a picture of the steam coming out. I should have probably just asked for extra vegetables, but it was really good. I see why people come here. I just drank water, didn't have any other drinks, but the food was extremely good. Four and a half stars, which brings them up.

It appears to be a family owned and run business - everyone was pitching in. I ordered chicken satay, pad see ew with beef, and a seafood curry. I was very impressed that they can make everything gluten-free using gluten-free soy sauce! Not only was everything absolutely delicious like it was the first time (especially the seafood curry!) but they held my leftover food for me in their fridge while we finished cleaning out a storage unit. They get five stars for having great food, gluten-free options, and going above and beyond with their customer service. Highly recommend!

I only discovered Thai food about two years ago, and since then, I've been completely hooked. I've…read moretried so many Thai restaurants across the area, but I'm convinced the best Thai food in the county is right here in Simi Valley at Thai Kitchen. I've become obsessed with their curry dishes, especially the Jungle Curry with chicken. I've tried it with shrimp, duck, and tofu, but I always come back to the chicken. My girlfriend is vegan and gluten-free, so she usually orders the tofu version, which is just as flavorful. When she doesn't finish it, I happily step in to make sure nothing goes to waste. The curry is creamy without being heavy, and the vegetables are always fresh and perfectly cooked. Every bite feels balanced, and the flavors blend together beautifully. The coconut milk adds a smooth richness that ties it all together. I always order mine spicy, and it's incredible every single time. What makes this place truly special is the people behind it. The owners and staff are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. You can tell it's a true family-owned and operated restaurant because everything feels personal--from the way they greet you to the care they put into each dish. Their warmth and pride show in every detail, and it makes the food taste even better. This is my go-to spot, and I find myself coming here almost every week. It's perfect for any occasion, no matter the season. They also have plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, which makes it easy for my girlfriend and me to both enjoy our meals. I still remember our first visit on Valentine's Day. The phones were ringing nonstop, there was a long line out the door, and yet not a single person left. Everyone waited patiently because we all knew it would be worth it--and it absolutely was. Thai Kitchen is authentic, full of flavor, and made with love. You can truly taste the heart of the family behind it. If you're in Simi Valley and haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go.

Perhaps I will be forever spoiled by the Thai restaurant we went to with a family group last summer…read moreup in Nevada City. That experience was beyond amazing - from the wonderful food, to the kind service, to the gorgeous garden setting. Most of my side of the family often dines at Thai places. I missed that influence when I was younger, preferring Chinese and Japanese restaurants. I say that as a way of indicating that I really don't know what I would like from Thai food, because I haven't had many good influences to help me try items I'd like. It is more fun to go with a large group and have experienced diners order a variety of dishes so that you can experiment with sampling. What I learned from the Nevada City experience is that I love a great Pad Se Ew. Pad Thai is obviously popular, and I like it, but the Pad Se Ew with the fat noodles to show off the sauce was a taste revelation. We've tried several restaurants closer to home now, and I'm still missing the magic of the Gold Country version. That being said, Thai Kitchen's version was better than what we'd ordered from another place in Simi. The sauce was somewhat heavier and drier than what I remember loving elsewhere. Still, it had good flavor. The quest is still on for the light hand and super fresh-tasting dish that I'd like to experience again. We also ordered the crab fried rice, and that didn't wow either Dear Hubby or me. He went to get take-out, so I didn't visit the restaurant site myself. The portions are good sized, and so was the bill out the door. There aren't any more decent quality cheap eats any longer in 2026!
