The times I have come here is to try the pho and it never disappoints. What I like about the pho here is the noodles that are used and the different flavors and aromas you get from the broth itself. I got then S2 which is a spicy beef noodle (no spicy imo). The mint and herbs are very forward in this option, which I like. We got the beef combination Pho, pork belly Bahn mi, sizzling skillet with bread, and a grilled beef kids meal. Everything they had was really good and the service was top notch. I placed an online order with a scheduled pickup time of 3:30 PM. When I arrived, there were only about two customers seated and eating, and around four employees just standing around--so it clearly wasn't busy. I went up to the register, gave my name, and mentioned I was there to pick up my order. The employee checked and said it was ready, but it obviously wasn't. It seemed like they hadn't even looked at their online orders until I arrived. I ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes for food that was supposed to be ready at pickup time. That's unacceptable service, especially when the staff wasn't occupied. I've been a long-time customer, and I immediately knew something was off when I didn't see my order on the counter like it usually is. Bamboo Cafe has been renovated and it's really better than it was before. The typical iconic Vietnamese Pho is a little classier than ordinary nearby restaurants, their presentation seems a little better. The soup itself is about similar, I'd say a little tastier than usual, I dine at many other Vietnamese Pho restaurants and compare them often. The servers seem polite but can do better, actually. Perhaps, a little training in customer service would elevate their services, and compete with other similar restaurants in the area. They have improved their outside, COVID-19 extension tables with renewed tables and chairs and a covering towards the outside of the seating areas. The landscape inside seems similar from the last time although it's been upgraded. To me, this restaurant is a better Vietnamese diner than others in the Simi Area because it has a better dining landscape and more presentable than others. The dishes are typically the same from the previous menu but a little better curated than others. So, if you're feeling Pho or classic pork-choppy, Bamboo Cafe would certainly be a great place to enjoy the soupy and porky and more other delicate dishes during your lunches and dinners. Parking is abundant, Simi Valley is one of the most peaceful American cities for many years and still is. Simians are chatty people, friendly and welcoming, too. If passing by 118, you can take Sycamore straight toward the small strip malls or Siri can also guide you to stop directly. Enjoy! read more

Oh man, this place is my new favorite here in Simi. The Bo Ne Skillet with their fresh bread (baked in house!) was perfect, as well as their Creme Brulee boba. The service was stellar as well. We had a large group of 15, and everything came out just about perfect considering how many different things we got! Our server, whose name I believe is Hao, was absolutely amazing- I do hope he's recognized for his contribution to the restaurant! He helped us out so much. This clean and bright restaurant has a great covered patio and spacious interior. The menu had a good variety of Vietnamese food and other speciality dishes like garlic noodle dishes. Service was fine. However they don't check on how you're doing and many customers had to continually call for take home bags or a check. Food is delivered and I had to walk up to the register when I was done. The rice vermicelli dish was good and a generous portion. They could give more sauce on the side for these large dishes. The remodeling made more dining space and they did not overcrowd with more tables, even restrooms were clean and spacious. This ratio of space to occupancy is much better than typical Asian restaurants, such as a similar Vietnamese restaurant down the block from them. Therefore choose this restaurant if spacing is important to you. There is a slight price premium for more space, but you can tell the customers who come knowing this. Been coming here a while since they remodeled and i love this place. Love their bun bo hue (s2). I personally think it's better than pho so 1, but pho so 1 is still really good. It comes with meatballs which is not traditional but I prefer that than the traditional pig feet. I love that they give so much meat in it too. Next favorite is the shrimp paste vermicelli bowl (v2). I like to sub the grilled beef for the eggrolls. I have been recently trying Hủ tiếu menu items such as the banh canh dac viet noodle soup (h2). It has great flavor, comes with shrimp, shrimp paste, and char siu pork. the noodles are similar to udon noodles but don't quite taste the same. I liked how different but simple the Nam Vang style rice noodle soup was (n2). simple broth flavor I added chili paste to give it a kick. Husband likes the Bo ne sizzling skillet (b1)! I got a chicken pho bowl and they give you the traditional limes, mint, and sprouts and you can ask for any add ons to your particular taste. It was lunch time, I had an intense taste for a Banh Mi with grilled beef, albeit at a new restaurant location. It was going to be a carry out. So I journeyed across the mountain to Simi Valley and Cochran Avenue to arrive at Bamboo Cafe. To my surprise, it is a branch of Saigon Brothers, a much closer destination for me.
