Decided to stop by and pick up some dinner. Place looks clean but I was not impressed with the food. I got the tom yum seafood soup, and it lacked flavor. The soup is supposed to have a lemongrass flavor but I was not able to taste that at all, I had to add salt to try to give it some taste but still very bland. I also got the drunken noodles and they were dry and not very flavorful. Prices are little on the high side especially for a meal that wasn't satisfactory. The food we were served was quite fresh, the pad see yew with pork is great as is their house special fried rice with beef. My wife was not a big fan of Thai food, but she is now after dining here. We got the pork skewers for an appetizer, it comes with a rather spicy dipping sauce; hot but tasty, a very flavorful dish if you enjoy pork. The service was pretty good, our server got us our drinks, kept checking on things and we were pleased with the service. We arrived just after 6pm and the place was pretty quiet. We were able to truly enjoy or meal in a clean, calm and quiet environment. Might be the best dining experience we have had in town in ages. Oh and their Thai Iced Coffee is a definite must. BTW, this was our first visit, the city hides their signage behind a large tree, so we have never noticed this place before. read more

I didnt want to leave a bad review but I had too I ordered a vegetable soup I got hard veggies in water never eating there again.

OMG I decided to go here for lunch today and let me tell you I could not stop eating. There were such big portions but everything was so hot and fresh and delicious. You get a bowl of soup, get an eggroll, salad and your entrée off of the lunch menu. I think it was $13..... I will definitely be going back.!!!!!! read more

This is a great authentic Thai restaurant that I just discovered 2 weeks ago and I have gone back 4 or 5 times now. My goal is to try every dish! I highly recommend it. I love their moo krob, drunken noodles and Pad Kra Pow. For dessert, the Roti is awesome. I even asked if they could make Som Tum, which is not on the menu, and they did. Very nice people and extremely accommodating and prices are great with big portions too. Do you yourself a favor and eat here. you won't be disappointed. Unexpectedly one of the best Thai food I have had. Larger sized portions, and quick service. I walked in for a ToGo order and the food was in the containers lined with foil so the juices did not spill and the food retained its heat. The spring rolls maintained their crispy texture with zero sogginess. The dipping sauce is very good as well. The spicy eggplant is very delicious. Plenty of veggies and the friend tofu is a perfect compliment to this dish. (Rice is not included). The mango sticky rice is a must get! I will definitely return here again and again. I get the house fried rice with chicken and ask them to make it spicy. They don't disappoint with the spice but the rice is lacking a bit of flavor. Overall still a good dish. Chicken is usually always tender and juicy. I have also had the drunken noodles which is very tasty. They have a decent lunch special where they give you soup, salad, and an egg roll with whatever dish you choose. Wow! First time ever have I been disappointed eating here. Called in a to go order at 11:15 this morning. They said 20 minutes. Got there and they said 20 minutes more, so I ran over to Walmart and got a few things. Got back, still had to wait about another 5 minutes. Got home, no utensils in the bag! The drunken noodles with beef medium spicy, lacked any kind of flavor. I could barely taste the spice. Even the Thai iced tea wasn't as good as usual. Not sure if they got a new cook or what! Wowwwww, a new restaurant for us in Simi Valley, and it happens to be Thai food. That alone should get 10 stars, but I've given it 4. We ordered a feast of food, which we tend to do for first time tries. We like to have a wide variety to sample to see what they can do with dishes that we like or have heard good things about. Anyway, we started with Thai Iced Tea, which I happen to love. I've had it ruined at other restaurants, but The Corner did me proud with theirs. Off to a great start. They then kept the hit parade going with their chicken satay. I was very happy with the moist chicken on skewers with their wonderfully thick peanut sauce, which I LOVE so much when it's made well... and this certainly was. The next item we tried was their Tom Kha soup, which is a spicy coconut milk soup, which we had with chicken and requested it on the mild side. There was a wealth of mushrooms and carrots in there, too. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it like I usually do. While it had a hint of being a tad bit too spicy, that isn't what bothered me. I just didn't find it as flavorful. There are typically a bunch of different flavors that are quite noticeable, but The Corner's soup was basically the coconut milk or some kind of milk/cream and some spice making it a little hot for my liking, but I didn't taste anything beyond that like I normally have at other restaurants. Here, it kind of fell flat for me, but again, it was good, just not great. For entrees, we ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Panang Curry and Spicy Eggplant with Beef... all ordered mild, and also some brown rice. ALL of the entrees were delicious, bursting with flavor and deliciousness. The eggplant dish was ever so slightly too spicy, but just a bit more than I'm used to, yet it tasted great. All vegetables in all of the dishes were cooked to perfection.... not too crunchy and definitely not mushy. The chicken pieces were all very tender. The beef, however, while delicious, was a bit tough to chew through, but only a little bit. Overall, the food was great. We both really enjoyed what we ordered. I think their Tom Kha soup is a miss for me for next time, and yes, there WILL be a next time... but there are enough other dishes to choose from so that I'm not the least bit worried. This was a very enjoyable meal from The Corner, and I'm excited to add them to our takeout rotation and order from them again soon! read more

I have been here twice and both times the food really exceeded my expectations. I'd like to think this is the best Thai restaurant in Simi! The staff are so accommodating and are super friendly. The interior of the restaurant is minimally aesthetically cute and it's woman owned! I've tried their pad kee mao, spicy fried rice with basil leaves, pad Thai, sticky rice and mango, and the brick toast dessert. First of all, the pad Thai was so saucy and had amazing tamarind flavor throughout. 10/10 The fried rice was really good but I was expecting a little more flavor but still good to try 9/10 The pad kee mao was really flavorful and the noodles were just right along with the spice 9.5/10 The sticky rice and mango were so good! The rice was a little too soft for my liking but with the sweet mango and coconut sauce, it was much worth it 10/10 For the brick toast- we asked for a side of condensed milk and it was soo worth it. I was most excited for this dessert knowing you can pretty much get brick toast in the 626 area but for it to be in SIMI?! Honestly waaaaay better than factory tea bar in my opinion. Came in today around 12:00, a guy took my phone order, was rude and rushed the phone order, and we were on the call for no longer than 2 minutes. When we picked up the food, a girl with a mustache was SO UNBELIEVABLY rude. Would get upset if we asked for anything other than what was given to us, sauce, utensils. She/he seriously needs to work on his attitude because it made the whole ambiance horrible. And we love Thai food, we order it all the time, wanted to give this Thai food a try and the experience was horrible. And the orange chicken tastes like popcorn chicken, there was no effort into making it taste good. The Corner Thai Cuisine recently had their grand opening which may explain the lackluster experience we had. It wasn't necessarily the spotty table service nor the absent minded server of a new place with teething issues. Instead, it was the food which should have been a bright spot but didn't quite deliver. First off the first impression of the menu left a lot to be desired. Perhaps it was the pricing structure that made us confused. The entree's didn't depict protein but at the top they were listed as if they are at additional cost. We clarified that with the server, but that seemed to begin our journey of confusion. Apparently, none of the entree's beside curry comes with rice. So, naturally we had to add rice to each entree or so we thought...there were two choices of white rice either small or large. So, we said we'd go with large and we're told they were out of large.... Wait a minute. So, why can't you just double or triple up on the small to make a large? No large. Okay, so now that we're totally confused. Since there were four of us it more sense just to get a fried rice which we did. Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic of that. Besides the rice was a bit soggy and lacked flavor. In fact, I think the general consensus was that the chicken was chewy, and the dishes lacked flavor while the rice and pad Thai noodles were soggy. Somewhat ironically the curry flavor was actually pretty good, but again the chicken was chewy and lacked flavor. Normally, Thai curry is a little soft on the flavor and depending upon where you go some are creamier than others while this one was actually decent. So, long and short. I honestly hope this new establishment takes heed to the advice to kick up the flavor, work out the chicken and tend to the noodles and rice. Perhaps clear up the menu and hopefully grow the business. I think if it does that they may have a chance. I wish them well! read more
