I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old, so that's 60+ years. (Yes, I am older, but I…read moream not a cranky old lady!) Thus, I have a lot of experience buying glasses. My husband needed glasses, so we were planning to buy him 2 pair: regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. This America's Best in Granite Run was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had buying glasses. We looked around for a while and picked out frames we liked and took them to a young woman who was sitting at a table messing around with some paperwork. (There was no one else in the store, either customer or employee.) She told us she was not the optician. I asked if we could see the optician and she responded that the optician was in a meeting in the back. I asked if she'd tell the optician we were there. We waited ten or fifteen minutes without any acknowledgement and then I said to my husband, this is insulting, let's go. So I told the young woman we were leaving, and she said "fine." As we approached the door, an older woman came out, looking angry and hostile. I asked her if she was the optician. She said yes, but she's in a meeting, what did we want? I said, we wanted two pairs of glasses, when is your meeting over? She said, I don't know. I said, well, it's pretty insulting to sit here for ten or fifteen minutes waiting. She replied, don't exaggerate, you've only been here for five minutes. I said, I am not exaggerating, and besides, who schedules a meeting in a retail establishment for the middle of the day?? (It was about 130pm.) She said, I do, I'm the general manager for all the stores in this area. My husband and I were pretty fed up, so I said, I don't see us getting glasses here, so we're leaving. She responded by waving her hand toward the door and said, OK, go. I said, whatever happened to the customer is always right? She said, it's not true, the customer is not right very often. We left and drove up Baltimore Pike to the Lenscrafters in Springfield, and the difference was like night and day. There were three employees on site, and they couldn't have been nicer. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I can't comment on the prices because both my husband and I have complicated prescriptions and we wear our glasses all day, every day, so we don't complain too much. I figure if they come in between $500 and $800 per pair, that's OK. I had already bought new glasses at the optometrist I saw, but we ordered two pair for my husband at the Lenscrafters, for a total of about $1200. America's Best lost that sale solely due to the rudeness of their so-called manager. There are a lot of opticians in the Media/Granite Run/Springfield area. There's no reason to go to this store.

My vision has deteriorated from a diagnosis of keratoconus in my thirties, a brain tumor in my fifties, and Guillain Barre in my sixties. Bainbridge Eye Care Associates has been a godsend! Their staff is terrific and along with Dr. Todd Bainbridge took the time to evaluate all my needs as well as answer any questions I may have had. Sclera lenses are difficult to fit yet Dr. Bainbridge has me seeing the best that I have in twenty years and the contacts are beyond comfortable! Any folks with eyesight challenges would greatly benefit from a visit to this office. Thanks Bainbridge Eye Care Associates for greatly improving my quality of life!

I've been to several doctors (not eye doctors mind you) who just want to tell you whats wrong and get rid of you for the next patient. Dr Bainbridge will gladly explain to you why you can no longer see things that used to be clear. The optician (Bob) is also amazing. He won't sell you on features you don't need, also takes the time to help you find glasses that fit correctly. When I got my first pair here, I must have tried on half the glasses in the place and never once did I feel as though I was an inconvenience or that I should just get on with it. There is an eye care place that's actually right next door to my house, and I still choose to drive across town to go to Bainbridge. Sometimes that means going home, and going all the way back across town to get an adjustment or repair done for one of the kids. Yes, its inconvenient, but totally worth it for the level of service here. Keep up the good work!

I really loath medical clinics, most of them (all that I had ever visited) were not that impressive. However, been to both locations of this consultants in Wilmington several times and have to say that the staff (including some doctors, nurses, clericals ...) are wonderful, very easy to talk to and absolutely kind. I can't say all the doctors are nice, but I was lucky to get a few (like Dr. Wohlhagen) who have great bedside manners, knowledgeable and treat you like you are actually a human being (LOL). I can understand how frustrating it could be to book an appointment with them. Guess when they are good, everyone will want to go there. Do imagine how scheduling an appointment could be tedious and boring. The staff can only book an appointment if there's a vacancy. I had witnessed how unreasonable and rude some of the patients were. In fact, you have to give credit to those staff at the front desk. They are patient and able to take all those "abuse". Maybe next time when you visit this clinic, try to smile and say "hi" to those staff at the front desk first and see how you are treated.
