Already in the area to visit Longwood Gardens, we decided to visit Chaddsford Winery. Although it was very last minute, we saw a groupon online and decided to come by for their cheap wine-tasting. We arrived around noon and the place was pretty empty. My party of seven had the entire wine-tasting room to ourselves, which was a huge plus. Although it was only wine-tasting, they give you an adequate amount to sip on per glass. The wines were overall very good quality and needless to say, we were pretty tipsy after it was over. The only sad part is that we couldn't try the last wine on the menu (the one that's served cold and hot) because the machine wasn't plugged in. We purchased three bottles and decided to lounge around for an hour sipping on wine and snacks. The only downside to our experience was how small the indoor seating was. There was only three tables in a small room.. However, since we were one of the first people there, we didn't have any problems with seating. The place is one of the best wineries I've been to: the place is beautiful and clean inside and the wines are one of the better ones I've tasted. I am a wine lover, but by no means am I a wine snob. So I want to make it clear that I fully concede to more knowledgeable folks out there that maybe Chaddsford wine isn't that good (comparably); maybe it is overpriced; maybe the winery is just a tourist trap. Etc. However, any place that makes a Spiced Apple wine is pretty much going to get 5 stars from me. That's just how I roll. I had been wanting to visit this winery ever since we lived in Chicago, where we had two friends who loved the Spiced Apple wine so much they would order it by the case and hoard it away in their pantry. The fiance and I finally made a trip out today for the Harvest Festival. First of all, this is the stuff perfect Sundays are made of. A scenic drive, perfect weather, live music, etc. So I was already happy before we started the tasting. Second of all, the tasting seemed like a pretty good deal to me -- there were 10 varieties to try, compared to six at our next stop on the wine trail -- couple that with the fact that I got to finish everything the fiance didn't like, and I was pretty happy by the time we left. As others have said, we preferred their whites over their reds. And the sweet/seasonal wines were definitely the best of all. My favorites were, of course, the Spiced Apple (served warm. awesome!) and the Sunset Blush, another sweet wine; I also liked the 2006 Pinot Grigio. I didn't LOVE any of the reds but I liked the 2006 Merlot quite a bit -- it was spicy. The Niagara tasted exactly like grape juice, which reminded me of communion, so that was interesting. My boyfriend and I decided to go here this afternoon upon hearing that they were doing tastings and had live music. For $10, we tasted all of the wines and got a logo wine glass. The wine tasting feels sort of like a scavenger hunt, following printed signs with arrows for the different stations around the wine cellar (sounds more romantic than it actually is). Below are our reviews of each wine: '10 Proprietor's Reserve White This is best reserved for the proprietor. '09 Naked Chardonnay Unique. A Chardonnay not aged in oak, but stainless. I've not tasted anything like it; in fact, I'm not sure I tasted anything at all. Mercifully devoid of flavor. '11 Proprietor's Reserve Red Passable. '11 Pinot Noir For those discerning palettes that appreciate a perfectly nice pinot noir artfully ruined in a sweet syrupy blend. '11 Miller Reserve Pinot Noir (Liquid) Smoky. Suitable for a steak marinade. '09 Merlot Unremarkable. Sunset Blush This wine not recommended for drinking, but, rather, for administering to those suffering from hypoglycemia. If that doesn't do the trick, they offer a 7-11 slushy version combined with daiquiri mix. No really, slushy machines. Niagara Our server flatly described this as "grape juice". It was not undersold. Also available in a 7-11 slushy with blue Hawaiian Punch. Again, not kidding. Sangri-La Sangria Sangria and antifreeze, together at last! Great location for a winery with ample room to set up on the lawn. However, service here leaves MUCH to be desired. Country cheeseboard is $18 and we got a sad plate of cheese with maybe 4 bites on it - also did not have the cheese that was listed on the menu. Menu says 4 types of cheeses - we got 2. We then took the cheeseboard back up to get it corrected and she then tells us that she's out of the cheese that was on the menu - but will try to help us in the next few minutes. We had already waited for this very subpar cheese board for twenty minutes. Not impressed. Bring your own cheese to this winery... don't waste your money on their food. read more

If I am at a winery I am going to have a good time no matter what. I did enjoy my time listening to the live music on the beautiful grounds - but unfortunately the Winery itself fell below my expectations. I came for the Adult trick or treat wine weekend. I paid for a card that let me get wine samples from each of their 5 stations. Usually a wine tasting costs around 7 bucks for maybe a glass of wine between all of the samples - so I expected to have a nice fill of wine by time I finished. On top of that we were promised some tasty treats that "compliment" the wine. Unfortunately, we received neither. Between 5 stations we only had 7 samples. Barely more than a regular tasting but 3 times the price. The treats could have rescued the experience, but Chaddsford winery seemed to go the absolute cheapest route. We were given a munchkin, PEEPS (yes peeps), a bag of kettle chips and pretzels, and a bag of candy. REAL CLASSY. I expected some truffles and dark chocolate and not the same snacks I get at as a 5 year old on Halloween during what is supposedly a upscale wine tasting. We did NOT eat the snacks., The whole experience was a bit underwhelming - if I ever go again I will stick to the regular wine tasting and opt out of the Flyers Wine and PEEPS. read more

I went to Chaddsford Winery for the first time in October for a Halloween event with several friends and had a great time. The event was well organized and the tastings and pairings were really unique. I loved that they paired specifically with other local products. Our "tour guide" for the event was very friendly and knowledgeable. After the event we hung out in their outdoor seating area and had another glass of wine and pizza from a food truck which was delicious. We all really enjoyed the event and I now have tickets for an event in January as well. The only downside here is that the wine is really just ok. I'm from the Finger Lakes area so I've been a bit spoiled with having a large variety of high quality wineries nearby and I just wasn't that impressed with the wine itself. However, my main goal was to find a place to go with friends or my SO for events, girls days and date nights and I certainly found that! There's not many wineries in the area so it stands out. Not sure why this place only has 3 stars... My fiance and I have been to quite a few vineyards and this one is by far our favorite. It's a gorgeous location and the staff is always accommodating. I think some of the reviews allude to the fact that there's not really food here- well, it's a vineyard, not a restaurant. So they have the customary cheese and crackers to eat while you enjoy your wine, but that's pretty much it. And that's fine by me. I'm not there to eat dinner. I'm there to discover new local wines and enjoy the scenery. Also, most wines are $10.99 a bottle- which is a bargain compared to most vineyards I've visited. If you're out near Longwood Gardens- hit this place before or after. read more

I'm no wine expert by a long shot. But I've had homemade "jug" wine in Tuscany, been to Napa twice, Dundee, OR three times and have had everything from Two Buck Chuck to a 50 year old Dom. Chaddsford Winery is really not good. What irks me is that I really do think the folks who work there try to convince you they are as good as any winery in the US. Come on folks, gimme a break here. The property is nice and going there for a summer concert is a great way to kick a weekend off for sure. But as a Winery, two stars would be the most generous review I could ever hand out. The folks here get a little silly with their prices and cover charges, losing perspective of how their product relates to the rest of the wine world. read more

Came here with friends for the adult trick or treating. I had heard of this place before but had never thought to try it. Honestly, PA is not exactly known for great wineries, so it's not something I think to do. But, the adult trick or treating sounded fun. The tickets were $22 per person and we got them for the last time slot that was available that Saturday (we purchased them earlier in the week). There were 5 different stations to go to that had wine and treat pairings. The pairings all went great together. Most stations had two different wines to try. My favorite pairing was the black widow cocktail with chocolate. Their wines ranged from ok to great but I enjoyed the majority of them. I think their reds definitely stand out more than their whites. I ended up buying a bottle of their red standard to take home. Overall, this was a really fun event for a good value. My only suggestion would be making the stations a little further apart, it would be nice to have to walk a little to get to each one. They seem to do a lot of events like this here and have food trucks here on the weekends. Although this is a bit far from me, I will definitely be on the lookout for another event. read more

I grew up out this way, so when my girlfriends mentioned going to Chadds Ford Winery for the warm-up to a bachelorette soiree, I was pretty excited. My enthusiasm grew even further when I learned that we were going for the Halloween candy and wine pairing menu. The drive out from the city was about 45 minutes, and quite picturesque. We arrived, paid our $15 tasting fee, and were given whimsy plastic wine goblets in the shape of various Halloween novelties; Frankenstein, a ghost, Dracula, a mummy, a pumpkin etc. We were also given a trick-or-treat bag full of our candy that we would be pairing. We walked into the tasting room and got to work. Nobody reading this review really cares what I thought about each wine, so I'll spare you the details, but I can tell you that with a group of 7 of us, not a single one of us particularly cared for a single wine there. Word on the street is that the winery was sold to people who 'gave up' on cultivating fine wines, and instead are trying for sweet crowd pleasers. Complement the sugary and chemical tasting wines with sweet candy, and it got tough. Most of us gave up on the candy after 3 or so failed attempts at the pairings. Next issue I had was the pours. I've done enough wine tastings where I can say with confidence that the fun part is the post-tasting buzz!!! I'm used to paying $5ish... getting a souvenir glass, and a solid buzz, and then flying around the gift shop on the way out buying a few bottles to take hope. This was not the case. The winery has shot pourers on their wine bottles so that the most you can get out of them is a 1 ounce sip of each wine. It felt really cheap to be honest. I didn't mind the small pour... as i already mentioned I wasn't loving the wines... but the amount that it was regimented seemed quite meiserly... as I just paid $15 to taste!!! We had a BYOB dinner scheduled for later that night, and our plan was to each grab a bottle at the winery for dinner. After our tasting, we were stone cold sober, with minor headaches, and fancy halloween wine glasses. We opted to stop at the Wine and Spirits shop on the way home for some more exciting bottles instead. Bottom line- the place is beautiful, the people working at the winery are so nice, but the wine is just awful unless you're a sweet-wine fan. read more

I was so surprised to walk in on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy a bottle of wine with my husband and daughter. We were told that bottles could not be purchased to drink and that we could get a glass around the corner. Not my favorite winery, that's for sure. Very cramped with not much sitting room yo enjoy a glass or bottle. Also wasn't thrilled with the wines. Didn't like that there weren't stools at the bar for the tasting; also wasn't impressed with the size of the samples unfortunately. BF and I stopped in for a wine tasting before heading over to Long wood Gardens. I had only visited their store located in Peddlers Village and had purchased a couple bottles and wanted to replenish my stash. It was a no brainer to do the tasting. I believe it was either $8 or $10 for the tasting and that included the glass. The gentleman who ran the tasting was very personable and had a lot of knowledge about wine without coming off snobby. He really talked about wine with passion and it made me enjoy my time there even more. We started with the 2009 Proprietors Reserve White. It was light and crisp, and sold. I bought a bottle. The second was the Naked Chardonnay. I'm not a big Chardonnay fan, but this one was good. We moved on to reds, I won't really review them, since overall I don't drink a lot of red wine. But the couple next to us who was there loved red wine and really enjoyed the Proprietors Reserve Red and Pinot Noir. We moved to the sweeter wines. I don't typically like Niagara wines, but I tried theirs and it was the better of the Niagara's I've tried. We sampled the Spiced Apple Wine, which I had before and it was good. It's very delicious when served warm. We than sampled the Sangri-La Sangria. I already knew I was buying since I purchased a bottle at Peddlers Village. It is very sweet and not for everyone, but I happen to really enjoy it and it goes fast whenever the bottle is opened in my home. We ended the tasting with the gentlemen's own creation. He said he liked playing around with the wines and adding things to them. He poured us a red drink and we sipped. It was delish. He said that it was the pinot noir, dr. pepper, and cherries. It was divine and refreshing. That conclude our tasting, unfortunately, but I'm looking forward to visiting again in the fall during their festival. read more

I've visited Chaddsford a couple of times over the last 2 years or so and had a very nice time every time I've gone. The staff is pleasant and the winery tour is, if small, educational and nice. They cater group events on the lovely grounds and regularly have festivals and Friday "Summer Nights Under the Stars" where there is live music and visitors are encouraged to come, picnic, and enjoy the music. The wine has been getting progressively better over recent years and while I'm no connoisseur, it's comparable to the better wineries of the NY Finger Lakes regions. I really, really enjoyed myself here yesterday afternoon. They had a little event with a guitar player and a catering company. Nice turnout...we grabbed a bottle of the Naked (unoaked) Chardonnay and relaxed outside - the grounds are beautiful and set far enough back from the road that it wasn't noisy. The Chardonnay was lovely and about $16. We then went to the tasting in the cellar ($10/person...six wines plus a Chaddsford wine glass). After the tasting we grabbed ANOTHER bottle of wine (lushes...), this time a Cabernet Sauvignon ($21.99) and it was a very solid cab. My boyfriend and I traveled out here this past Saturday as a fun way to get out of the city and to celebrate my birthday. We had been looking into local wineries to visit, and Chaddsford Winery had glowing reviews. We were even more excited to see they were doing a "Wine & Cheese Walk" mini-tour on Saturdays in November. We bought our tickets and were very excited. The Wine & Cheese Walk was a delicious and nice way to: see part of the property, sample a wide array of Chaddsford's wines, and get to snack on some of the best little curated bites - with DiBruno Brothers cheese/accoutrements. Each of the 4 stations had 2 wines to taste, and a snack that paired nicely with each wine. It was hard to pick a favorite, but I made a mental note of the wines we wanted to buy on our way out. We left with 5 or 6 bottles in hand - happy to support a local winery and as a reminder of the great day we had! read more

We came for the trick or treat event. 22 bucks (20 for the ticket advanced and 2 online fee) for a drink and food/snack pairing, which there were 5 stations. I was disappointed in the pairings. I may have overlooked this on the menu, but I was confused and disappointed to see so many of the food items to feel "cheap". A tiny slice of a kind bar, chips, peeps, etc., made me regret purchasing the ticket because afterwards it felt overpriced and a waste of money. I also wish they would have spent time discussing what the wine was and why it was paired with whatever food item. The experience seemed rush. We really enjoyed the spiced apple wine and the bottles are reasonably priced. Overall, the setting is nice and we enjoyed seeing people eating and drinking outside while listening to live music. This is where my wife and I had our engagement pictures taken, so it has a special place in my heart. It is a beautiful winery with a super fun staff. Also, they have so many events!! A few weeks ago it was a jazz festival. But almost every weekend they have a cool event going on. There was a food truck today but the wait was pretty long so I would highly recommend bringing some food to enjoy with your wine. The wines have really improved over the seven years that I have been going here. So if you visited in the past I highly recommend trying then again. Chadds Ford winery is located about 30 mins outside of Philadelphia near the Delaware border on Baltimore Pike. I love coming out here - it is extremely scenic and a nice break from being in the city all the time. I was here last for the holiday open house during Christmas. It was an open house and I had a chance to tour the winery and the grounds. There was complimentary wine tasting which was amazing. It was a small group of us down there and it was extremely personal. They were happy to answer any questions I had explain the details of each varietal they poured. The tasting took place down in the cellar where they bottle everything. I am definitely looking to come back for the spring tasting this month. read more

Having just moved from Charlottesville, where I was used to being within an hour of over twenty excellent wineries, I have been missing the wine tasting experience. So I was very excited to learn that there are a few wineries in PA that we can sample. We found Chaddsford through a search for local events, which contained a description of their "Grillin and Chillin" barbeque in which the staff grilled various meats and veggies and paired them with their wines. Sounded excellent, but all the reservations had been made. Drat. Oh well, we decided to just do their regular tasting and create our own winery event. When we arrived, I was pleasantly greeted with a charming building with a lovely outdoor seating area. The tasting was $8 for about eight wines, so it seemed like a good deal. The dry wines were alright, but didn't seem that much better than our case of Charles Shaw in the basement (no judgment!). The sweet wines were something else entirely. When sampling the Sangria, I actually started giggling because it was so bad. The nose was like potpourri, and the notes were all sickly sweet. Drinking it actually seemed like walking into one of those expensive boutique gift shops frequented by older women. Just...uncannily gross. We ended the tasting a little disheartened since we always like to leave a winery with at least one bottle. We decided to walk around the wine shop to see what our other options were. Richard, one of the friendly staff, found us reading wine descriptions and decided to help us choose. After a thoughtful discussion, he recommended the Merican and the Due Rossi. We bought a glass of each, and they were wonderful! We ended up buying a whole bottle of the Merican and left feeling much better about the whole experience. attended their wine slushie event this past weekend with a group of 6. definitely loved the sangria pop that we received for preregistering but was underwhelmed with the slushies themselves. everything was overly sweet, the portions were quite small (if you consider they were about 3 dollars each) and the one batch that was supposed to feature a red blend was actually made with a white wine instead. on the other hand the grounds were really lovely and they had an a la carte vodka wine punch that was pretty great. also the beer drinkers in the group were glad they were able to buy plenty of local craft brews while there. i'd definitely come back and give another event or just a regular visit another go, maybe wine slushies just aren't for me. read more

The place and atmosphere is amazing. When we got there we initially thought it was an outdoors event. But once we entered, it was beautiful and the people were so friendly. They had a spin the wheel game available for everyone who came. My friends and I won a bottle of wine, scarf, mug, and a free traditional wine tasting which is $10. The picture attached shows the different wines available. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the wine selection was not my kind of wine. I'm not sure what all the negativity is about with some of the other reviews. I've been around the wine block a few times, and I can tell you that while the Chaddsford wines may not be world class, they definitely are good, and the folks there know their stuff. I'm more a fan of dry wines, and much of the stock at Chaddsford fits my profile. There are some sweeter varieties, and they are okay...but I tend to stay away from those. Chaddsford makes a decent chardonnay (both in an unoaked, "naked" style and an oak-aged style), and they also have some very nice reds. I'm a fan of their Bordeaux-style Merican, as well as their Due Rossi (blend of chambourcin and sangiovese). I suppose that some of the negativity comes from the fact that Chaddsford turns a lot of people through the place on any given day. Seriously, people come in by the busload, and I'm not surprised to hear that the staff gets overwhelmed. But I can't properly judge a place like this by only seeing it at its busiest, most hectic times. On a weekday in the summer, or when they're not hosting a special tasting event, or either early or late in the day...and you'll find that the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Oh - and I've been to plenty of wineries, including all the ones in this particular area, and Chaddsford's wine prices are pretty darned reasonable for what you're getting. read more

I've been here twice for two tastings-their Halloween one where they paired candy with wine and a regular one. When they pour their tastings, you get about a sip of wine. If I had to judge I would say that by the end of the wine tasting, you've had about a 1/4 of a glass of wine. Fairly lousy deal even with a Living Social for $15 for 2. The staffers have always been nice but the wine tasting consists of them saying "this is our dry red." Pour a sip. "This is a sangria." Since I like the space, I will be back to hang out but The next time I go I'll skip the tasting and just buy a bottle. read more

Took a loved on to their Slushy event on the 13th of July. It was busy, and they ran out of the slushy flight tickets, but I I was able to buy them a la cart. The wines were not bad. For some reason we didn't have the best experience here. It took us a while to get served and when we did we had to stand for our tasting and to drink our wine. It was really uncomfortable. We bought some snacks to eat but we got stuck eating and drinking around a pole they have a little ledge around to be used as a table. There were 5 of us so we couldn't really talk to each other. We probably won't go here again but I know that other people rave about this place. read more

I went to Chaddsford Winery on a lovely autumn day not too long ago to do the Trick-or-Treat tasting. We had a LivingSocial deal, so that even though the event was $15, we were able to get half off. Woo! It was also fairly crowded because of how many people were taking advantage of the Halloween theme. I liked the concept of pairing wines with the candies, although not everyone's candy bag was the same, so some of the candies were missing. If you asked at the counter, though, the employees could give you whatever you were missing, and there was a water cooler to cleanse your palate there as well. Whoever did the pairings of the wines with the individual candy was SPOT-ON, so good job. Since Chaddsford was serving a lot of sweeter wines that day, the matches were delicious with the sugary treats. I felt that the pour was a bit stingy (only enough wine for one good sip, so it was hard to take a sip alone, and then take a sip with the candy to get a feel for the wine). The grounds were beautiful, and the tasting had some really good pairings. As others have said, the wines were a little sweet for my tastes, but this is a good stop if you're visiting Delco vineyards. read more

I've been to their tasting room in Peddler's Village, so I knew going into the trick-or-treat tasting this weekend that I wasn't a huge fan of their wine. I tend to shy away from fruitier and flavored wines. Still, it was such a beautiful fall day, so a few of my friends and I headed to Chaddsford from Philly with $15 Groupons in tow. We drove in and my mouth just about fell open at the sight of the line to get into the tasting. We briefly considered bailing, but since we had already purchased our Groupons, we decided to stand in line. They had a live band playing music as we waited, so that definitely helped. When we finally did get to the check-in point, the woman who took our tickets was very apologetic for the wait. I'm not sure they were prepared for as many people as actually attended on Saturday. I was a bit disappointed to discover the "candy pairings" included the likes of Laffy Taffy, Starburst and Tootsie Rolls... maybe just me, but I was expecting something more along the lines of a truffle or at the very least some dark chocolate that you can't find at a CVS for the $15 price tag. The wine tasting was outside, which was a highlight since the grounds are very beautiful. I'm not sure I'd return on a themed weekend due to the crowds, but overall I enjoyed my experience - the band and atmosphere moreso than the wines. read more

I have visited Chaddsford Winery at their vineyard location and also at the tasting room in Peddler's Village, Lahaska PA. The Chadds Ford location is pleasant... the staff was friendly and the place was deserted on a weekday afternoon. The Peddler's Village location was like any tasting room, but there are MANY other Bucks County wineries I would recommend before going there. The wine is good. Not great. Their spiced wine is terrific served hot in the fall or winter months. It is actually ALSO terrific with a pork roast in a crock pot- believe me, try it yourself! read more

Yesterday was my first visit to Chaddsford winery and I won't be coming back. Due to covid restrictions it's only 2 hour reservations which I totally get. You also need food on the table when drinking due to PA laws. Upon checking in, we were told by the host that we only needed one food item on the table. When the server came we ordered the light lunch box $20 ( meat, cheese, crackers). He later told us that this wouldn't be enough food and we had to order from the food truck also. He refused to serve us wine until he saw food truck food on the table even though we ordered food from him because it "wasn't enough". So basically I could have gotten one order of fries for $5 at the food truck and that would have been enough for a group for 6 but the $20 food item wasn't. I wish he would have told me that before because I would have never ordered that $20 meal for the table would have gotten one single order of fries. It just doesn't make sense. The food truck took 45 minutes to bring out the food. So for the first 45 minutes of our reservation we were not allowed to drink even tho we ordered food with him. Chaddsford should really accept food receipts from the food truck as proof you ordered instead of refusing to bring any wine out until you saw the actual food on the table. And again, still confused why the food we ordered with him wasn't good enough to at least get the wine?? After we got the food truck food the server wasn't prepared and didn't bring out the wine right away. We had to ask about it and we didn't get any wine until 1 hour into our reservation. Such a waste of time. Then the serve told us at 130 was last call for our reservation time Limit. We ordered more but he didn't bring it out until 145. Then as he was bringing it out he told us we now had to move to the overflow lot because the next group was coming in. In the overflow lot we were not allowed to order any more wine, it was covered in bugs/leaves and it wasn't weather protected. For the whole 2 hour reservation we only ordered drinks for 30 minutes. This overly strict food requirement was only at chaddsford. We went to another winery afterwards and a bag of chips was enough for the group of 6. Extremely disappointed. I would recommend looking at other wineries in the area. Service was much better. Chaddsford is basically a barn with picnic tables out front.. I didn't even see a vineyard. read more

Beautiful winery grounds with accessible wines for everyone, just don't expect too much complexity in flavors. I have to begin with acknowledging my bias (and some would say snobbishness) when it comes to wine. I'm not an expert nor do I consider myself one, but I've tasted enough to know what I like and what I don't like, with most of my formative tasting years having in the VA wine scene. I'll start with the positives - the grounds/facilities of Chaddsford Winery are very nice. My girlfriend and I came for the Food Truck festival and had a great time. Lots of selection, live music, and take-it-anywhere plastic lawn furniture. The service was also exceptional. The wine tasting has two options, your standard one (about seven tastings) and a more expensive option with additional reserve wines. I would check Groupon before going as they always seem to be running some sort of deal. We opted for the regular tasting and began with their Hard Cider, which was actually quite good - more dry/sour than sweet. After that, I wasn't too impressed with the remaining wine on the list. They all tended to skew a little too sweet for my taste. The standout of the bunch was the Barrel Select Chardonnay, the only wine that demonstrated any sort of complexity in taste, aged in oak with flavors of fruit and vanilla. The Phillies Red gets an A for marketing, but only a B- for taste - I liked the dark fruits but didn't taste anything else listed on the tasting menu. The Sangria is essentially a so-sweet-it-hurts-my-teeth dessert wine, and honestly you're better off making you're own. Overall, if you're a more seasoned wine taster, you won't find anything unique from the wine selection here. However, if you want to go out with your family and friends and get a few bottles of high accessible wines that everyone will enjoy, you'll have a good time at Chaddsford Winery. No snobbishness or stuffiness here. read more

Nice friendly servers, couple of good wines, cool live music but very poor facilities. Only one food truck for about 500 people and only 2 of the 6 dishes were available at 4pm. There was limited seating with plastic chairs on the lawn. Constant traffic noises from the adjoining highway. The decent wines were the red standard and niagara. Chadd's Ford Winery is a friendly place. Quaint, cute. Me, Mom and Dad did a wine tasting there because I yelled WINERY! and Mom said PULL OVER! So Dad was forced along into our mayhem. We didn't like any of their reds. Their "spring wine" is quite tasty and their riesling is pretty good. The wine is a little pricey but that's par for the course aroudn Philadelphia where the cost of living is sky high. For doing the wine tasting, we were each given a wine glass. I still have mine in my cupboard. It puts a smile on my face because I remember a nice afternoon with my parents. To the people who complained there are no good wineries in PA.... you are mistaken. Green Dance Winery in Mt. Pleasant PA is top notch. There are also many good wineries around the Lake Erie area. read more

I didnt do the tour and just popped into the shop to purchase a wine. It was a little disappointing that the $5 charge to wine taste would not go toward the purchase of the wine, which I've experienced at other places, and has encouraged me to usually end up purchasing more items!
