This barber shop is a happening spot. I felt more hip and cooler just walking in. Please keep un mind that they are cash only. They have a decent sized private parking lot and they are playing some hip music in the shop. You will find Chad working the first chair as you come in the door and there is not a shortage of barbers. They had 19 working while I was there.\ And they were all helpful and very friendly. Chad has a back massager that he uses on his clients after he finishes their cuts, FYI. They do appointments, but it cost extra. I like the drop in concept better anyway. You just sign in on the iPad when you get there and wait to be called by one of the barbers. I waited less than 5 minutes. The shop is huge and is nice and clean. They sell snacks, lemonade and t-shirts there. Another good thing bout this place is that they cut all types of hair and does not focus on just one. It is a very diverse shop and even though I was new, I felt welcomed there. My barber did a very good job. I was happy with the cut. The only negative was that it took him a little extra time to do it. All-in-all I had a great experience at the shop and highly recommend checking this place out. One more thing, they do offer discounted cuts for seniors, police, fire, and EMS. read more

Took a walk in appointment here for the first time, was sat down with Pope. I was running off 0 sleep and didn't feel like talking. He was cool with that. Didn't force conversation, just stuck with the task at hand. Came out to $22 but I tipped an extra $5 for a $27 total. I feel like I should've paid more for this haircut, probably one of the best ones I've had. What looks like a $50 haircut at least for half the cost. Next time I'm back in town I'm for sure going back to chads. P.S. the music was good too. read more

A great haircut but... I had a great haircut. Pope is an excellent barber I can say I had a problem with the app refunding the advance fee charged for a reserved time. I waited 11 days for the transaction. I went into the shop and let the staff know of the problem. Pope took care of the problem, and Chad followed up. Water under the bridge. Hard to tell if this is right because when I entered I was politely greeted by Chad as he was cutting hair the same as all his employees... I love that. I put my name in and sat kind of excited for the experience. So then the dude that's been taking the trash out says follow me. He sat me down to cut my hair as I observed how he didn't wash his hands. When I noticed him pick up the clippers I was like dang that's unfortunate. Anyway he goes on to hack at my neck as I felt the burn and then he unevenly cut the top of my hair... on the other hand it actually doesn't look as bad as I expected. But in the middle of it he cut his finger and didn't say anything as he slowly put a bandage on his finger and didn't say a word to me. Again he doesn't wash his hands as he puts his fingers back in my hair. It hurts to be polite because for the first time in my life I wanted to sand up out of my chair(not even at great clips have I felt this way). Also he lined my forehead up(for the first time in my life)... gave me a little forehead shave that added 7 years of life to my hairline. Paying cash hurt as well because I felt more obligated to tip the dude. Also I remember setting an appointment one time a while ago and got cancelled(guy said sorry bro I'm still moving out) I was confused because I didn't know him so how would I have known he was moving out. Chad's Barber shop is located in a tiny strip mall next to Big Lots on Madison Ave. I walked in on a Saturday to a 1 hour 20 minute wait. I had heard many good things about Chad's but this was my first visit. David Martinez did the hair cut for my 7 year old son. He was really great with him. A heck of a lot better than the women who have cut his hair in the past at great clips. My son wanted puppies on his head...I didn't. David offered a suggestion on a smaller design and took it from there. There staff is awesome at Chad's and even though the place was crazy busy it just seemed like a bunch of friends had gotten together on a Saturday and we're hanging out. Not worth the hype, do not reccomend. Was told it was one of the best places to get a fade, absolutely not. Did i get a fade yes, was it what i asked for no. I literally drew a line round my head and went over with him a few times. I let him know other barbers do it to high so i want it low and longer n messy on top. He was cutting me off before i had even finished saying what i wanted. I got a very high fade, lesbian haircut. Long on one side short on other. Very short at back, Neat not messy, had to stop him squaring it off so i don't look like a Lego man. Turn n burn place, not warm or welcoming, no consideration for what you want. Why ask if you're going to give me the same haircut you give everyone. I have a huge birthmark on the back of my head so the low fade was to cover it. It's completely exposed. I've been coming here since moving to the area several years ago. Will never go to a stylist again! I don't ask for a specific barber, I just go with first available. Most of the time, I don't have to wait very long, but I do make it a point to never drop in on Fridays or right before a holiday. I also try to avoid early evenings. If I have to go at a peak time, I know I'm going to have to wait. Still worth it! All of the barbers are great and know their stuff. If I've had a bad cut (twice) it happened because I didn't explain what I wanted well enough -- I have learned how to ask for what I want! Learn the lingo! This is one of my best barbershop experiences ever! From the time I saw the full parking lot on a Sunday morning, I knew I was in the right place. Although, the shop was PACKED, I got to the chair in no time, 'cause they have about 9 barbers. While I waited, I realized that every one of these guys can cut, so I sat down with Erick (first available) and got a great cut myself!!! I LOVED the energy, the conversations and the comraderie of the customers and the barbers. The music was great and we were all havin' a good time. Was told over the phone they don't do appointments & to come in because they were free and no wait. I get there shortly after with 6 people in front of me. I waited for 3 hours. Multiple people came in, didn't sign in, and sat right down in a barber's chair. If they don't do appointments I don't know how those people are able to do that. If you want a haircut from here, make sure you carve out a ridiculous amount of time to sit and do nothing & get skipped over by each barber's friends. O'Neal has given me the worst haircut I've ever received. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. He replied "Oh that fade in that picture is terrible" (???). Okay? Let's see u back up this talk. Smoothest FIRST hair cut ever! I scheduled my 10 month old with David M. at Chad's Barbershop for his first cut! Our experience was beyond great! We expected nothing less as Chad's came highly recommended from friends and family. Highly recommend scheduling an appointment (extra $6) because it's totally worth it, unless you have time to wait. David made our entire first hair cutting experience great! He took time and entertained my son while cutting his hair. Everyone in the shop was welcoming! Chad's even saved his first locket of hair and gave me a certificate of his first hair cut graduating for "babyhood" ( #sadmomma). Chad's has a check in system which is I think is wonderful that way there is no confusion on who walked in first and the barbers who are cutting don't have to be distracted while with their current customer.
