Here in Indy for work and made an appointment at this shop! Before anything else, the sense of community is great. Lots of people came by just to say hello to the staff, grab a dog treat, and enjoy the space. The staff was very kind. My barber, Jacob, was really cool! He's a great conversationalist and made sure everything I asked for was done. The shampoo and condition after the haircut was unexpected in the good way, and such a bang for your buck for the price of the haircut. Jump into a time machine and be transported to the past at Fountain Square Barber Shop. Everything from the chairs and wall art to the uniforms on the barber's backs--it all looks like it's been picked out decades ago. Fountain Square Barber Shop is located in Fountain Square (DUH) off of Prospect Street. It's right across the White Rabbit Cabaret and steps away from breweries and other restaurants. There is no designated parking lot so you'll need to keep an eye out for street parking (I've never had any problems finding any). Now for the real talk -- the Barbers. The guy I go to is Jake/Jacob. He is AMAZING!! He's the first barber I've found in Indy who seems really dedicated to his craft, as opposed to other barbers who just give you a quick fade and send you on your way. I personally have weird hair that goes in different directions and sticks out like a porcupine. Jake always seems to take his time to make sure that my hair doesn't look funky which shows that he genuinely wants to do a good job. He's also very easy to talk to, not fake at all , but also doesn't mind some comfortable silence. Jake is the only reason why I keep going back and I'll continue to go back there as long as I live in Indy. He's great! You can make an appointment on their website and also choose your barber--so make sure you pick Jake! Another thing I love about this place is that there seems to be openings for the same day and if not there's always an available slot within a few days. All the other Barber Shops are sometimes booked a week out. I highly recommend this spot so keep them in mind the next time you're looking for a good cut! read more

haircut is good, but took a little to much off the sides..More so, I felt very rushed when it was my turn and they asked what I would like and they mentioned that they get a little overwhelmed sometimes with walk-ins- so sorry for the wait. They seemed a little annoyed that I stuck around to wait, even though I said a few times I can come back and even initially asked if they took walk-ins. Most annoying thing is that when I went to pay and tapped my card on the reader, the guy quickly leaned over the screen and gave himself a tip and then hit complete. Didnt ask, didnt ask me to finish the transaction...incredibly rude. I was planning on giving a tip because the guy did a pretty good job and said he wasnt really even suppose to be working but was helping out..but you just dont do something like that. Went in for a beard trim. I had a morning appointment and they were ready for me early. Jasmin was great; very fast and efficient, and very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable, quiet and relaxed, and their prices are very fair. I'm not gonna lie, this is the worst hair cut I've ever gotten. Dude with the messy Afro cut the back of my neck so bad. One big continuous slice from edge to edge on the back of my neck besides that the hair cut looks terrible. An absolute disappointment and waste of money. so pissed I went here.
