We walked around testing branches and looking for our "perfect" tree and found one we loved. We brought it over to the check out area and they trimmed the end for us and after we paid loaded it on our car for us too. This spot accepts cash or checks and after tax it was $80 for us this year. Don't forget to tip the person who ties your tree to the car as well. We have our tree up now and it smells great, the branches are sturdy and it looks amazing with all our ornaments hanging on it. Not good signs. He turned up the thermostat on the fridge and freezer in hopes to buy us some time. By the time I got down there for breakfast the milk was still warm, but the fridge kicked on, I was hoping it would start cooling down. By lunch time the tempeture was dropping. That's a good sign and bought us some time. When my husband told me this morning that the fridge was on fritz I immediately jumped on Consumer Reports and paid for a subscription. Once there I immediately clicked on refrigerators. They have all different categories: French Doors, Side by Side, Top Freezer, Bottom Freezer, Cabinet lengthy, and ones with no freezers. So many to choose from. It would have been so much easier if we could just rebuy the one we had. It's a good one, it lasted around 12 years. I personally like our side by side so I went to work researching them and picked out 4 that were top rated 74 down to 67 on Consumer Reports. I also looked at the French doors, but only one of them had water dispensers and the freezer space was less. I first got online and looked at our local hardware store, but wasn't able to find the ones I was looking for by their model number so I went onto Home Depot's site and was able to pull up two of them. Two is better than none so we headed to Home Depot in hopes they had them in stock. When we got to Home Depot I presented the print outs of the two I found online and they were both in stock. The showroom was packed with so many options. Thankfully J'Leesa walked us to the ones I printed out. Both looked nice, but the one had the Craft Ice Maker and that took up extra freezer space, so I passed on that one. We don't really need giant ice balls, it's not like we're having whisky on the rocks every night. We also looked at the French Doors one and he agreed with me, they lack freezer space. Not that we have a lot in our freezer, but it would be nice to have the space if we need it. We do stock up at times when meat goes on sale, so we need that extra room. We chose the GE 25.3cu ft. Side by Side Refrigerator in Fingerprint resistant stainless steel, Standard Depth. It's the same one they sell at Costco for the same price, Home Depot says it's $900 off, but to me that's the standard price. They have it in stock so we scheduled it for delivery on Thursday. That is if all goes well and they will take away our other one free of charge, just like Costco would have. The only different is we only have a 48hr window to commit to it after that it's ours, that makes me nervous. Maybe I should have gone with Costco as they have an easier return policy, but we'll see. I'm hoping for the best with this purchase. We also got the 5 year protection plan. I'm not exactly sure what that entails, but it's better than nothing. This process too around 4 hours. 2.5 hours researching and 1.5 hours in the store. I'm really hoping and praying that we made the right choice as this is one of those "BIG" purchases that hopefully will last us 10 years and not the 5 years Consumer Reports says it will last.

This place is so cute-I haven't been to a ton of nurseries as I've generally picked up my cactus plants at random spots like a midtown market or a Trader Joe's or as gifts from people but I will say this was one of the cuter nurseries I've been to. When we arrived I walked around a bit to check out what they had to offer-what was in season and wondering where the cactus plants were. I liked this little sign they had in the middle of their nursery which advised everyone what was in season and what should be planted at this time of year-for a newbie green thumb person like myself-information like that is very helpful. After walking around a bit I decided on the cutest little cactus to add to my collection at home and it cost me $7.99,so cheap and my daughter decided to get a snow peas plant($7.49). In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Oak Park area and want to check out the cutest little nursery-I would 100% recommend The Plant Foundry for all your gardening needs-they have a really awesome business running out there-I like em and will be back.

I like that we've found consistent seasonal offerings as well as have been surprised with some fun plants we haven't seen elsewhere. The store inside is also fun to browse with both garden accessories, as well as gifts, fun items, and local things that someone with an interest in gardening would also enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful and there's even sometimes a cute and friendly cat that's wondering around to greet guests. A great spot to browse while visiting Oak Park and a great spot to pick up seasonal plants or more longterm additions to your garden.

Sam in their kitchen remodel department was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable about where to start and the procedures. He suggested we start with the cabinent before the countertops. I also learned that they are two differnt contracts. You don't do them together, which is confusing for me as don't you want the work people to coordinate so all the work gets done at the same time. We learned that they don't actually come to your house to measure for your kitchen cabinent. What if you measure wrong? We learned that you need to get permits before dong your own kitchen and that's the homeowners responsibility. We learned that painted Cabinets are more expensive then stained. Though stained means you'll be using real wood. Sam prefers natural stone due to its longevity. We're not sure how that would look with our fake wood/lament floors. Sam is referring to Natural as Granite or Quartzite. From looking at the chart it seems that Delton and Porcelain is are better when it comes to stain resistant and scratch resistant and heat resistant. I also like the lass countertops they had at Ikea which they don't offer At Lowes. From the sounds of it it's going to take around 2 months of life without a working kitchen for us. That doesn't sound good. That's a lot of going out to eat. Though if we do it this summer the good thing is we'll be eating lots of salads and sandwiches anyway due to the hot weather. And cold cereal for breakfast. It also sounds like we need to buy everything ourselves versus going through a contractor to ensure we are the holders of the warrantee. Apparently who ever pays for it is the holder. Thant's news to me. There is an additional 10 year warrantee you can buy for the countertops that's around $400. That includes any accidents by the buyer or malfunctions in the workmanship. He said it's worth it. Follow us on our journey.

At checkout with a cart full of clearance priced plants, we encountered an associate named Pearl who right off the bat accused us of being thieves, discriminated against us based on race and disability (we were made to feel In the way and not belonging there), and blatantly accused us for marking down the prices ourselves despite showing photographic proof of our shopping. Pearl demanded that we pay full price for clearance items and said that the plants did not look distressed enough to warrant a lower price. Pearl proceeded to mishandle our plant purchases and breaking some in the process while overcharging for a few of them. Despite our multiple requests for further assistance and resolution, she refused to honor the clearance prices, dismissed our repeated pleas for support, and proceeded to help others behind us while supposedly asking for a supervisor to come over. We ended up waiting more than half an hour (being disabled, this is incredibly painful to endure) before Manny and Charles came by finally to save the day, yet Pearl continued to berate and accuse us of wrongdoing while Manny and Charles went ahead and resolved the situation at hand. We normally do not encounter this at this location, but suffice it to say we were taken aback that we were greatly mistreated in this manner for doing the right thing.

Since there were four classes, they split us into groups, which made everything feel organized and smooth. The kids absolutely loved the hay ride and getting a tour of the farm to see the layout. One child was so excited she almost fell over. Her water bottle fell but she was safe. We then visited the animals and learned about all the amazing things the farm does, which was both fun and educational. After the tour, the kids enjoyed time on the playground and had snacks. There were also shops and places to eat, which was great for families and chaperones. The bathrooms are port-a-potties. They do have hand washing stations. I had never heard of this farm before, but it truly exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back next year! It was only $5 per child and $15 for parents which wasn't bad.

My family and I went here last year for the first time (due to Yelp Reviews only) and it's by far the best experience I've ever had. The tree's were all shaped nicely and the prices were reasonable. By far though, the best part was the customer service. All of the people working there were extremely friendly and helpful. A few different people greeted us when we first arrived. They offered assistance in finding what we were looking for. They were professional and courteous at check-out. They did a fresh-cut on the bottom of the tree, and removed some of the lower branches. Then they loaded it on my truck for me. If you want great customer-service and an enjoyable tree-picking-experience, and you don't mind the drive, I would highly recommend going here to get your tree.

But I do believe they are as my best friends always come back and the constantly have fliers for sales. They also give notice to upcoming community events. Our last visit we realized that they also sell beef cuts, tallow, jams and honey. We decided to purchase the honey and we just tried it with tea and by itself, and we will be repurchasing!
