We have been coming here to get our Christmas tree for the last 8 years. We started when we used to live in West Sac and now that we have been Pocket residents for the last 5+ years we continue to return because the trees are unbeatable. They are beautiful, they last, the staff is friendly and efficient--it gives you that holiday vibe with modern conveniences (just a notch under going out into a snow covered forest and chopping down a tree yourself). We have seen the prices increase over the years (to be expected) but appreciate they provide such a lovely variety at different price points. We stay in the red tag zone and have never been disappointed. You can tell that they are very conscious about the trees they sell and maintaining decent pricing. You can get all sizes from table top to extremely tall silver tips. They have gorgeous wreaths. It is honestly just the best. We look forward to returning every year. read more

Bought a Christmas tree day after thanksgiving. Comparable prices to other sources in the area, which is to say a lot. $79 for a 7 foot Noble fir. Team makes a fresh cut for you, and ties it to your car. Accepts cash, check. I did not find any bugs in my house after putting the tree up and it has barely dropped any needles. The best place to get a tree in West Sac! They have so many different options of trees in multiple shapes & sizes. We felt like we were walking through an actual farm because they just had so many trees. The prices are reasonable & they're well marked with different colored ribbon tied on the tree so there's no confusion. There's a little parking lot right out front for convenience. Cash or check only! The best thing about Chad's is the service. Everyone is friendly and comes to help when you ask for it. After you choose your tree, they'll remove the wood stand and tie it up on your car for you. This was such a big help because we came here with our baby & didn't really have free hands or a lot of time. We had a little snafu with our payment but they handled it easily, which I was very very grateful for. I'm looking forward to making a trip to Chad's tradition. My husband and I were in a panic because the tree lot where we bought last years (amazing) tree was out of the style we wanted. I found Chad's Christmas Tree lot on Yelp and loved the idea of supporting a small business. Chad is super cool and he keeps the lot well organized, making it very easy to find the height and style you're looking for. He even special orders 13 foot tall trees!! His trees are sourced from Oregon and they're a great quality - minimal holes in the branches. I also appreciated that the trees are rinsed off. The prices are fair, we paid ~$156 for 9 ft Noble fir, and you can pay with cash or check. Definitely worth the ease of selection. See you next year Chad! read more

I was very disappointed in Chad's. I have shopped elsewhere in previous years, but based on the reviews though I'd give Chad's a try. Nope. I don't have a huge tree budget, so I favor the cheaper Douglas firs over the Nobles. Chad's had only one size of Douglas firs, and none of them were standing up. I asked the guy at the counter (presumably Chad) where to find the Dougs, and he pointed vaguely at one end of the lot. I headed down there, but couldn't find them. I wandered all over the lot looking for the Dougs, and eventually wound up back at the counter to ask again. He again pointed vaguely down one row. Turns out the Dougs were all lying on their sides, still wrapped up. Maybe he doesn't want to sell those because they're cheaper, but he could simply have said, "They're on their sides wrapped up, so I'll send someone down there to open them up for you." I did flag someone down to do that, but would it have been so hard just to tell me what was going on? Then, when it was time to pay, turns out it's cash & check only. There's no sign anywhere saying that. You just have to wait until he looks at your card and tells you no. In 2021, who doesn't accept cards for purchases of around $100? Who even carries cash? I can't remember the last time I wrote a check, and would have a hard time finding my checkbook. Next year, I'm definitely going somewhere else. read more

This one is only open from mid-November till Christmas, for obvious reasons. It's a small lot (sharing space with Whitey's customers) and all of the tree are pre-cut. We stopped by on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and found 2 guys working - one (Chad?) running the place who seemed to know what he was talking about and gave us the feeling we could trust him; the other didn't seem to know what was going on and seemed like "the lackey Mexican guy". We just wanted a little tree, but the table stand trees were inexplicably the same price as the 4-6 ft ones ($19.99). We added a good quality tree stand for $23. It's a great little tree- We'll see if we can keep it green till Christmas! read more

We picked up a perfect tree and wreath from here and they helped us by carrying it to our car and tieing it down. I would suggest comming early if in December (I came late and didn't like any of the trees left) and brining a few flash lights if you like to really inspect your tree like I do and make sure there's no browning or bald spots. Came to buy a tree at 10:35 and waited till 11 and nobody ever showed up. Website and yelp both say that they open at 10:30. Super lame.

Last year we bought a tree from Chad and were happy with the entire shopping experience. However, this year was not a similar experience. We picked our tree out and as we always do, we get it flocked. Chad said it would take a few days and that was totally acceptable. When we went to pick it up, I noticed there was a large amount of water inside the plastic wrapping around the tree. Water is the death for flocking. Chad unwrapped the tree and sure enough, the tree was ruined. Chad apologized and promised to make it up to us. Another we went by before we got our tree, despite multiple attempts to pick it up. Chad promised it would be ready on two occasions before it was actually ready. When I finally got it, I was very disappointed, as it was significantly smaller in size compared to the original tree we picked out. We will not be purchasing another tree from Chad. read more

Truly the only downside is that it's cash only. We had to run across the street to the AMPM to take some cash out. But it's worth it - good prices (we got a beautiful, full 5.5' for $42) and the tree you want is quickly wrapped and strapped to your car. We'll be coming back next year! read more

One of the best places i have ever been to in our area!! Chad was so friendly when he helped my husband and i pick out a tree. He showed us all the trees that were in our price range and when we picked the one, which was BEAUTIFUL and only $20 for a 6 footer!! he cut the bottom limbs off and made sure it stood up straight and told us how to properly care for our tree to make it last until christmas. He then loaded it on to the top of our car and tied it down for us. we only had to spend about 15 minutes at the most at his lot and then we were on our way. Friendly service, nice fresh trees, and Santa. The trees smell amazing and look super fresh. They have trees of all sizes and multiple types. The less expensive ones have fine needles and shed too much. I suggest spending a little more and get a Douglas Fir. Santa visits on weekends, so it's a good time to take the kids. They also sell tree care kits and tree stands, which are more expensive then what you can find at your local hardware store. After purchasing our tree they loaded on top of our car and tied it down for us. Also they threw in a tree care kit for free when we purchased a stand. read more

DISAPPOINTED! My son & I drove from Rancho Cordova all the way there to this lot because they advertise a tree for $19.00. Don't need nothing extravagant just needed a tree for my son. When we got there they said there are no $19.99 tree's, they don't carry them at either location... False advertisement! And then tried to sell me one for $45.00! If I only wanted to spend $19.99 why would I want to pay $45!!?? A quarter tank of gas later and no tree lol, what a waist... Bad business read more

Of course they are the bushier ones but come on for $20 and the happiness it brought to my son was worth it. Kids don't care if it's a noble fir. To them the bigger the tree the better!
