    Jasmine Milk Tea
    Olivia W.

I've gotten a few drinks here. Their Jasmine green tea drink is pretty good. If you like milk tea that has more tea flavor compared to milk. The others I've had like the oolong is not for me, it has an artificial taste. They seem to be pretty busy especially on the weekend, but they make the drinks pretty fast after you order. The place is decorated decently well. A few downsides are that they have limited searing when it's busy, and they don't have Wifi which is quite unfortunate when the service is pretty bad in this area. On the

My personal experience here was great and I'll explain some of the downsides too! I got the longjing milk tea and the dark milk tea with boba. Loved BOTH. The longjing was lighter while the dark was.. well stronger in flavor. Almost reminded me of sea salt milk teas. I came in on a weekend afternoon, place was reasonably filled, and got my drink within 10 mins. Service was both kind and quick. Interior was cute and you can even purchase some of the decor! First, the straws. The thin straws that look like sticks used to stir are actually SUPER popular and prevalent in China and have been for years. If you don't like them, the store has the big ones available too. Just grab those. Second, I actually really enjoyed the boba. Yes it was more cooked down than usual but it was still chewy. I actually really enjoyed the boba because it was different than other places. They actually cooked it in black sugar, perhaps an herbal one. This is a very popular ingredient in more traditional Chinese desserts. It's a flavor I love and grew up with, but I can see that if you're more used to westernized flavors, this result may throw you off. The whip cream is also different from what's usually seen in America. It's a thicker, dryer form to look aesthetic and mix into your drink. Overall, I liked this place a lot. Some of the flavors were less westernized than other milk tea places so if you're used to the latter, it may not be the best fit. I took off one star because I think the menu needed more English translations for the teas they're using and the special ingredients they use, such as nuts or others. The audience in Houston is so diverse thus a minimum expectation is to at least include thorough translations, so people with dietary restrictions know. Also, the cups are GORGEOUS. The prettiest I've seen in Houston so far.

The good news: the line on the Sunday of opening week wasn't too bad. The bad news: The short line might be because the boba was pretty meh. It wasn't qq at all. Seems like they undercooked it since the center was too hard, and then it sat out too long, so the edges were already mushy. Plus, our drink barely had any boba. Some slurps had 2 boba, some none at all, and then all gone. Osmanthus oolong was also meh, don't even recall any floral notes, let alone osmanthus (likely underbrewed). The ugly truth: they were vastly unprepared, and even then, the boba quality was just so bad despite the not-that-bad line. Seems like they may have sacrificed brewing time and proper boba cooking time just to pump out drinks to meet demand. Even Molly Tea still has long waits despite the lines being more tame. If Chahalo got the lines that Molly Tea or HeyTea (either Galleria or Chinatown) had on their openings, Chahalo would've been cooked. At least more so than the boba. BOGO ain't worth it for sad boba.

We stopped by during their soft opening on 7/11 when they were running a buy one, get one 50% off promotion. We arrived around 2:30 pm on a muggy Saturday and waited in line for about 45 minutes. We ordered a large Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea at 50% sweetness, plus boba for an additional $1, and a Berry Frappé at 100% sweetness. It took about 10 minutes for our drinks to be prepared, and we had them in a to go bag. Once we got home, we noticed a few issues. First, the straw felt like three thin coffee stirrers stuck together, making it surprisingly difficult to drink the beverages. Second, and more importantly, the Berry Frappé contained bacon bits. There was no indication of this on the English menu. While this may not be an allergy concern for everyone, it's important information for customers who avoid pork for religious or dietary reasons. I hope the shop clearly lists all ingredients in English so customers can make informed choices. Another disappointment was the promotional fridge magnet. The promotion advertised a free magnet, but we never received one. Since we arrived around 2:30 pm, it was surprising that none were available or offered. If supplies were limited, it would have been nice if that had been communicated. As for the drinks themselves, they were just average. At about $7.49 each, I didn't think they offered good value, and I wouldn't order them again at that price. The shop itself is relatively small, with about nine employees working behind the counter, so the space felt very crowded during the soft opening. I understand they're still working through the opening process, and I hope they improve the menu labeling, promotional communication, and overall customer experience as they settle in.

Went here on the soft opening. The shop is a small bubble Tea shop. They have some seating along the wall and a few tables. I tried their Jasmine milk tea it's not as floral as I thought it would be. It didn't seem over brewed though. It was okay, I did get less sugar. The other drink I tried was the roasted oolong tea and that one was the best of the two. It had a more prominent roasty flavor. It had a stronger floral flavor than the jasmine tea. They're more known for their authentic tea flavors too.

chahalo is a xi'an based milk tea brand and their signature drink is the osmanthus oolong milk tea. it was fragrant with a nice floral aroma, but i didnt find it particularly memorable i also had a hard time deciding what to order since the menu was pretty basic. we ended up getting the longjing green tea as well, but what the english name doesnt mention is that it comes topped with pistachio foam... lost in translation ig? unfort, the pistachio foam was very salty with no sweetness, so all we really tasted was the bitterness of the tea paired with a savory cream on the bright side, we got some pretty fridge magnets from the bogo 50% off promo. overall, the drinks werent bad, but they didnt do enough to make me want to come back when there are so many stronger tea spots nearby

Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and Black Milk Tea Frappe

Had the opportunity to try ChaHalo during their Soft Opening and got the BOGO special. The store was definitely bustling and had a line when we walked out. We tried 2 of their signature drinks: - Osmanthus Oolong milk tea: very fragrant, 70% sweet hits the spot of Asian sweet, but not really standing out to us - Black Milk Tea Frappe: thought it was a slush drink, but glad I was informed it's just iced milk tea with whipped cream on top. The milk tea flavor was VERY flat for me, and the whipped cream was thick and heavy, not my style at all. Overall, a new tea joint in the abundant milktea galore of Dun Huang Plaza, but did not seem to add much value to what we already have...

Got our drinks extremely quick even though there was a long line for soft opening. Drinks are yummy and the tea essence flavor is deep but subtle. Comparable to Molly tea.

So glad to hear that one recently opened up in Houston. Would LOVE to take my cousins here one day…read more Environment/Atmosphere - Super crowded when we got here, but the lines moved fast, and there was a kiosk to self-order if you didn't want to wait in line for the cashier. One of my favorite things was how fragrant the space smelled while I waited for my boba. You could tell there was an exceptional tea aroma lingering despite all the cream and sweetness. The place was exceptionally clean for being so busy, and the workers consistently cleaned as they made the drinks, so you knew you could trust the sanitation here. Drink Design - I have to make a separate comment on how CUTE these drinks were. I loved the intentional sticker placement over the lips and the little carrying handle. You could tell they went the extra mile to make these drinks not just flavorful, but an experience in and of themselves. Even their receipt paper felt luxurious. That sounds ridiculous to point out, but the thought behind every aspect of this place is impeccable. High Mountain Pouchong Tea w. Lemon Juice & Mousse (Creamy Lemon Tart) - After all the sugar I had today, this lemony drink hit the spot with its perfect tartness. The cream had bits of lemon zest in it, adding to the aroma. I tried to adjust the sweetness when I ordered and was told it had a built-in sweetness, but if I found it too sweet, they would happily switch it out for another drink. I felt like I was dealing with Amazon's generous return policy--and luckily, the drink was perfect, so no return was needed! Creamy Mango Tart - Literally like the Lemon Tart, but mango. I loved this just as much and really enjoyed the refreshing flavors of BOTH tarts. Instantly a fan favorite. Dong Ding Oolong Tea w. Fresh Milk - Very mild and creamy, almost like a mellow latte. Not my favorite because it was a bit too creamy after everything else I had today. Still, I loved the tea profile and can absolutely see why others would love it. Overall, I love, love, LOVE this place. 1000/10. From the experience to the quality and intentionality behind every little detail, I couldn't be happier with my visit. I never thought I'd ever say that a drink was so Instagram-worthy, but these drinks were beautiful--like models of the boba world. Would go back in a heartbeat. This has officially won the spot for my favorite boba place.

One nice addition that I saw was a Photo Booth and tea tasting station! You don't have to worry about parking as it's located in a strip mall so there's quite a bit of spaces. Overall I enjoyed my time and would like to try other tea options here.

This is among the best coffee drinks I've ever had. Certainly the best I've had in recent memory. What I'm saying is it's in the running for the best coffee drink I've ever had. The egg cream is thick and eggy, which I loved. The coffee itself is bold with a strong coffee taste. The cream is dusted with a heavy shake of cinnamon and it all melded together into a delicious concoction that I couldn't get enough of.
