    Pad see ew

Food is so good. Pad see ew is one of my favorites. The lady is so sweet she gave me a huge portion. I gave her the $6 change as her tip and she gave me a bowl of spring roll and fried dumplings, she insisted. She prepares the food herself (and looks like she's the only one running the show, I think). Bring cash as well. The maps took me to a different spot but she's located behind Maverick Gas station.

Just passing through the area and happened upon this little gem of a food truck. The food was outstanding. Just be careful - there's American spicy and there's Thai spicy. We said "medium" spicy and I literally had tears running down my face from the heat. I highly recommend Chai-Yo-Thai.

Excellent Thai food! Great service - big portions! My daughter in law, who is Thai, recommended the food and we are beyond pleased! It will be our stopping place anytime we are in the area.

If we had never eaten here before, today's experience would have been one and done…read more After spending Spring Break camping at Three Island Crossing and Bruneau Dunes State Park, we stopped at Shiok on our way home to Boise for a late lunch. The vibe from the waitress told us she didn't want to be there. We were barely greeted and shown a table to sit down at. We barely had seen the menu when she came by and asked us about drinks and appetizers. We asked for two glasses of ice tea and said we needed more time to look at the menu. When she came back to take our order, we still hadn't received our ice teas. She even brought us our cups of soup before the teas. Since we weren't provided water when we sat down, we waited 15 minutes to get the teas. My wife ordered a sweet and sour chicken dish and I ordered Kung pan chicken. When they arrived, they looked almost identical: deep-fried chicken in a sweet sauce. Only Kristy's dish had some slices of bell pepper, while mine had a piece of raw broccoli and some dried chiles. Tasting mine, it was definitely sweet and sour. When the waitress came around I asked if that dish was really Kung pao chicken and she assured me it was. I said the sauce was sweet and the chicken was deep-fried and was unlike any Kung pan chicken I'd ever had. She told me she would trade it out, although I was unsure what she was going to replace it with, since she had insisted that what I had received truly was Kung pao chicken. She returned a few minutes later and said the chef had made a mistake and was making the correct dish for me. It came out and was fine. But what bothered me is the server just assumed she had brought me the proper dish to begin with. If she had simply looked at it and agreed it looked nearly identical to Kristy's sweet and sour dish, she would have easily concluded a mistake had been made. Which I would have understood. Instead, she didn't believe my explanation of why it was the wrong dish. If I was the chef in the kitchen, I would have brought the corrected dish out to the customer myself and apologized personally. He took the easy way out by putting it on his waitress. This is a restaurant we love and have spoken to the owner before. We will go there again, but this was a very disappointing experience.

My daughter ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Jasmin Rice and I had the Chicken LoMien. We also had the Hot and Sour soup. Everything was so fresh tasting, with fresh vegetables. The servings were huge and we ended up taking home a lot of food. The service was fast and our server was so friendly. The menu is also like a book. So many things to pick from. If you enjoy Chinese/American food I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. We will certainly be back again.

The mix of Thai and Burmese dishes really sets it apart from other places in town. The food was overall really flavorful dishes like khao soi papaya salad and other northern Thai dishes , and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. The flavors feel more traditional compared to a lot of Thai spots around here. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which gives it a cozy vibe, but it can feel a little tight and busy during peak hours, so it's not the best place for big groups unless you plan ahead. Service was friendly and welcoming, and food came out pretty quickly even when it was busy. Overall, it's a great spot for quality Thai food in Boise. definitely one of the places I'd come back to when I want something more authentic and a little different.

Our server was friendly and helpful with our questions on the great variety of choices. We started with the shrimp and cream cheese wonton appetizers. Both were crispy, flavorful and a good start to a great meal. We shared entrees family style and had the Massuman curry with duck, Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken and the Kung Pao. The Pad Thai was some of the best we have had in the Treasure Valley. The rich flavor and generous ingredients kept us coming back for more. The curry had a slightly sweet flavor with a variety of spices I haven't tasted before. I love a unique spin on a dish that stands out instead of the same old "by the numbers" variety and Pad Thai House is definitely in a class of their own with their curry. The Kung Pao had a great combination of bite-sized vegetables and flavorful beef that was wonderful over their generous portions of rice. We have found a go-to spot with the Pad Thai House and are looking forward to trying more dishes on their menu.

We came in today for my Grandma's birthday. I know they would do a good job with my Grandma's food modifications. Kim took care of us today. She's the best! She got us all squared away at a table and we checked out the menu. Bangkok Thai serves some of the best fried tofu. I don't know how they do it but it's always crispy on the outside and soft on the middle, it's so good! No matter what you get your tofu in, in gonna be good! I got the lunch pad Thai with fried tofu. Grandma got fried tofu with mixed vegetables. I asked for her veggies to be cooked longer so she can chew them easier. We were served rice soup for the 4 of us. Grandma got her lunch first since she's vegan and couldn't have the soup. I thought was was really kind of them to do that! Grandma didn't have to be left out. She ate a good portion of her veggies and rice noodles. She was a happy clam. My pad Thai was perfection! It was saucy, it had a good amount of bean sprouts and tofu. And the heat level was nice! My favorite is adding the fresh squeezed lime juice into the noodles. It's so good! I ate half and plan on eating the other half later. Bangkok Thai is one of the best Thai joints in town. It's locally owned by some of the best people. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!…read more I visited this place on an early Sunday evening around 5 p.m. It wasn't too crowded, but it was bustling with DoorDash orders. I was introduced to this spot by DoorDash, and I was eager to try the restaurant for the fresh-cooked food experience. The hostess greeted me right away and showed me where to sit. Since I had walked over 2 miles to get here, I wanted to be seated rather than at one of the bar tables. If you're a fan of Thai food, this might just be your favorite place in Boise! It's got a nice vibe, and I noticed that the tables and chairs are cleaned after each visit. Everything is very clean and classy, even the restroom. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but not too flashy. Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp 5/5 Spring mix, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, mint, rice noodles, and avocado wrapped in rice, served with peanut sauce or spicy Thai seafood sauce (add Shrimp for $2 extra). These are like a delicious, fresh, hand-held salad wrapped in rice paper. They're not fried, but fresh my favorite way to enjoy them. They also have Crispy Rolls, but I prefer the fresh ones. These are especially great on a hot summer day! They come with two dipping sauces: a peanut one and a lemony butter sauce. I know I'm different, but I like the lemony butter sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Pad See Ew 5/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with egg, carrot, broccoli in sweet black soy sauce, with your choice of meat. I tried it with seafood once and with veggies and beef another time. Always delish! Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) 3/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with green bean, bell pepper, Thai herbs, chilies, and basil, with your choice of meat. I've had mine with chicken, but this one's my least favorite because I thought some of the pieces were a bit too dry. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I didn't eat a few because they were tough. Since it was my second time, I didn't want to complain then, but maybe I should have mentioned it. Mistakes happen to everyone, so sorry for not bringing this up sooner. Slice of Cucumber Salad 16 oz 5/5 Thinly sliced cucumbers, red onions, and carrots, usually dressed in a light, sweet, and sour vinaigrette. This is a favorite of mine. To me a unique recipe! Fried Wings 5/5 Nice crispy, tender, and nicely fried chicken. Deep fried marinated Thai-style bone-in chicken wings served with sweet chili and sour sauce. So tender and juicy, yummy! Coconut Shrimp 5/5 Deep fried coconut shrimp served with spicy mayo sauce. Freshly made Sangria 5/5 Cold and delicious. The Game Changers: I appreciate that you can review your order before paying. I like the digital system, and what's more important, they ask for feedback right away. I think that's pretty cool and admirable. They want to know upfront if they've done anything that made you have a bad experience. I also like that they're linked up with Toast for loyalty reward points. Basically, for every dollar you spend, you can get a reward. I really think this is a great feature that the restaurant has that I haven't seen anyone comment on, but to me, it's a great benefit for the customer. Don't worry if you don't have a Toast account; I believe you can get one at their checkout process by providing your phone number. I already had a Toast account, so I might be mistaken. Just ask at checkout, and they will explain to you. They sanitize the tables after each use. They have chopsticks. The owners are from Thailand, and they have a great kitchen staff. The kitchen team includes Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee. Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee come from the northern province of Thailand. Chef Pitsy (Owner) is also from the northern province of Thailand. The restrooms are super clean. So customers and staff can wash their hands and keep the place as germ free as possible. I have gone to the restaurant three times so far and I think it's the one of if not the best Thai restaurant in Boise!
