Really quaint little bar/restaurant. I went here on a whim and had a great time listening to karaoke!!

After seeing a picture of the pork belly sandwich, I was very excited to try this place. When I arrived, it wasn't what I was expecting from the photos. I thought it was going to be this hipster kind of place but it was more like a dive bar. Not bad but not what I was expecting. If you are at all bothered by cigarette smoke; this isn't the place for you. Smoke triggers my asthma so I sat outside on the patio. It was a beautiful night but was almost smoked out there too because the smoker was up there. It smelled delicious but the smoke was a distraction. The pork belly was no longer on the menu which was disappointing....I almost left because of that and the smoke but the very friendly staff helped me decide to stay. First I will say this, I called the place when I landed late in ATL airport and talked to to friendliest bartender and was excited to patronize. When I walked in a few minutes later the bartender was not friendly at all and I thought she was perhaps bipolar. I took a seat and another bartender appeared. Quickly I realized that this was the one I had spoken to as she was very friendly and lavished me with several "honey's" and "sweethearts". Made me fell at home. Amazing how much difference a little kindness makes. The other bartender was as friendly as a pit viper. The nice bartender is the only reason I don't one star this place because she was awesome and made the experience palatable even though everything else pretty much sucked. This place gets brownie points for being open late and near the airport. The decor is nice, But it is as Smokey as a three alarm fire and smells like an ashtray (but most of the bars on Atlanta do). I can not believe they still allow smoking in bars in Atlanta. Just disgusting. I used to work in bars when smoking was tolerated and I don't remember it bothering me, but many years later living in a city that does not allow this, it is a glaring distraction to enjoying a drink or a meal--oh yeah, and it's deadly too. Some bars have smoke handlers but if this one does it is not working very well. We went their because other reviews recommended the wings, but we found the wings to be small and extremely over cooked. Some of the wings were even crunchy, and I don't mean crispy in the well-done crispy fried skin sense--I love that. I mean like past turkey jerky hard to full on crunchy flesh to the bone. I suspect that we were pretty late and we were getting the days dregs from the bottom of the fryer. At least I hope that was the case. As I said, other recommendations were very good and so I have to think they are capable of making good wings even though ours were dreadful crematory victims. read more

Lovely chill spot with great drinks and food. There's a pool table and some seating inside along with the bar. There's also a patio area where you can smoke and also enjoy a drink. read more

This spot hasn't changed much from it's Corner Tavern days as far as looks. I will say this though...FOOD IS GREAT. Good enough to yelp about ...and the staff is much friendlier to guests. read more

I am staying the night in Atlanta to leave on a flight in the morning and this place was perfect. Strong drinks. Friendly staff. Awesome food. The wings and brisket are smoked in house. Get the brisket nachos. There is no way you won't be satisfied. read more

If you want an everyone knows your name type of vibe, this is it. It could probably be described as a hole in the wall joint, but I'm telling you, if you let looks stop you, you will miss out. The staff is laid back and just cool. I felt like I knew them my whole life. My family...this isn't a family place, learned that the hard way...were discussing where to go to waste time before we went back to the hotel and the waitress heard us and quickly and jokingly told us we needed to pick something else. She then brought in another person who also told us the same thing in his own way. I'm telling you, the place is great. It's not fine dining. It's not going to be on Atl's must visit list, but I think that's what makes this place great. Walk in, find a place to sit, shoot some pool, play some video games and chill. As a local East Point resident, I've enjoyed Chairs on numerous occasions. It's a bar, with bar food, so there are hits and misses when it comes to the food. However, I went this week for dinner and drinks, as a neighbor invited. The food was okay, although nothing I would rave about. The cocktails were perfect. However, when the check came, there's a 20% "Service Charge" automatically added to the check, and additionally a space for a tip to be added on top of the mandatory 20% charge. So, a party of two each has a 20% service charge added to each check, and then expected to tip on top of that? I never tip less than 20%, but I've never had an experience where there was a mandatory 20% service charge. read more

R.I.P East Point Corner Tavern Chairs is in tha House. I am an East Point native and have been wanting to come here since they changed names. The layout is the same but they have added arcade games in the billiards area. Cool! I sat at the bar and Morgan was my bartender. She had a great attitude. Star Wars episode 1 was on the T.V. and I ordered the Cajun smoked wings, they were very good. Topped off with a 420 and fries and my lunch was complete. The menu is scaled down but not too typical. This is a great "go to" bar when you want to get a good drink and food to get away from the "scene" and chill. read more

My first visit to Chairs was a pretty good experience. I had some beautifuly Smoked Wings, Spinach Artichoke Dip & Chips, Breaded Cauliflower, and Asparagus. All real tasty! My favorite was the Spinach Artichoke Dip. It was soooo cheesy! If your looking pool tables and a bar, your good to go. They also have nice size patio situation as well. This place will surprise you. It's a smokey bar that will make you expect crappie bar food that's out of a bag or can. That's where that ends. The food is original,fresh and a top choice for the tri cities area. Their brisket is great and anything they use it in is awesome. The specials are really original, brisket grilled cheese with homemade tomato soup. Who would have thought and the staff is always friendly. read more

This is a nice replacement for the Corner Tavern. The menu is slim but very good. Brisket nachos and wings are very good. Chips are made in house, very thin and crisp, still warm when served. Toppings are fresh. Wings are smoked in house and are perfect. Two thumbs up. read more

Nice karaoke bar in a decent locale. The first time I went I had decent company and a sweet honey or two oogling me. Songs were diverse and pleasant with a few good singers. Second time I went much more crowded with more good singers but also more horrible singers (I admit to being one on one song). At any rate service was okay and people were friendly. I would prefer if the KJ all my songs, which he didn't. But he was professional and the music wasn't too loud or too quiet. I'd return. read more

I met a couple of friends at Chairs and we grabbed a booth to sit. It was the perfect environment to have a beer, not too loud, ambient rock music, a sports game above the bar. It was exactly what I expected and I can see myself becoming a regular in a bar like this. The French fries are tossed in herbs and garlic, perfect combo with my beer. I love the food here but the service is awful. Sometimes you order at the bar and sometimes a server will come to you, but they definitely ignore you for a while and let you just figure it out. They also add 20% gratuity to each tab and don't tell you, so they have no reason to actually care if they provide good service. Definitely a good spot for late night food when there is limited options though. read more

Very nasty attitude by Mrs. Nikki which is a bartender at the bar. I own my own catering company and if this young lady worked at my company I would def. get rid of her ASAP to have a better company. When I first walked in I was a bit out of sorts because I felt like I might need a tetanus shot BUT after a few minutes I realized that this place was special. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and fast. The entire place had the friendly aroma of wood smoke coming from the brisket being smoked just outside. There were pool tables , video games and foosball that made the place feel a bit 80s but in a good way. The menu was awesome and my colleagues and I tried the brisket Mac and cheese, brisket sandwich and shrimp po-boy all which were excellent. All in all the place was just what we needed considering most places in the area were terrible or closed. A great place that I would recommend to anyone looking for good beer, drinks, food and a relaxed night. read more

Tucked away, little unassuming restaurant/bar. They allow smoking inside so we opted for the outside, rooftop patio. Shared brisket nachos and a couple orders of smoked wings with our group of 4. Both were very tasty. Full bar and many different beers available. Good service. Right now, the sidewalk in front of the business is under construction, but they are still open. I recommend you go around to the back. There is some limited parking there and access to the terrace seating. I would go back. read more

The service was mediocre, as was the food. What really brought it down was the attitude of the wait staff and manager. When we got our bill, we noticed there was a 20% service charge on it and we were not a big group. (just 2) We asked about it and was told that it was posted in a number of places and that they always charged it. My friend who was with me had been there before and had not seen that before. I never saw the posted notice. They seemed to have no inclination to explain to us but appeared to want us to leave ASAP. I will not return. read more

Just found out about this spot and let. Me. Tell. You! Sarah and Nikki at the bar welcomed us in with immediate service and big ole' smiles. I love the sass! Though the kitchen was closed, they surprised us with some end of night queso and a taste of fresh off the smoker brisket. They have old school arcade games, a great back patio, and great music. Played league pool here last week. Enjoyed the pin ball and pac man too. I had the creole shrimp and mashed cauliflower. I was only going to eat half and devoured the whole thing. We took home some smoked wings...buffalo and bbq . Really, really great wings !! My server was awesome. I didn't catch his name but was very pleased with everything. I think I don't like this place for 3 reasons. 1. It's no longer the Corner Tavern 2. They don't serve fried artichokes and 3. There's nothing special about it, the menu, the service. Nothing. I know 1 and 2 are not fair but Corner Tavern was one of my favorite go to spots for a good late night meal (fried artichokes) and the entertainment/patrons were hilarious. This place is just okay. They didn't change the decor, the seating or game area. It was literally just a name and menu change. Anywho, I had BBQ Salmon, mashed Cauliflower and potatoes. It was pretty good but nothing to write home to Momma about. Service was average although my boyfriend got extra attention from the chesty waitress. There's really not much to complain about. Terrible experience. Called to place an order and was placed on hold for over 10 mins. When I arrived the phone was still off the hook the waiter "forgot." Attempted to then order online due to waiter also serving the bar area and my online ordered couldn't be received since the iPad wasn't charged overnight. Ended up ordering after about 15 mins of waiting (not busy) but there was no one to check me out. Ended up paying online and writing in a note to not cook since I couldn't get the waiters attention to check me out. Would not be going back, def would not recommend. read more

This place is off the chain! 1st, I ordered a beer and they put it in a freakin' glass. Then, I ordered some nachos and they slung it out on a prison tray...high-class! Later, when I asked the location of the restroom/glory hole, no hesitation, the bartender took me in there and hj'd me to completion. They did auto-grat me but it was worth every penny. Chairs has a special place in my heart. There's something for everyone here because they have a wide variety of games and drinks. The food is delicious; they smoke their own wings and brisket on site. I live nearby and I've been coming here regularly for two years now. All that aside, the best part of this place is the staff. Thanks to everyone for your excellent service. Any time my friends visit East Point, I make sure we go to Chairs at least once during their stay. Good food and drinks with several nice pool tables and several dart boards for playing. This restaurant & bar used to be owned by 2 women who owned a bar and restaurant in Little Five Points. New ownership seems to be more interested in supporting local neighborhood associations. Good variety of beers and great cocktails too. Back deck is fun in warm weather. Excellent food menu whether you want a full meal or a snack or munchies to go with beer or cocktails. read more
