This place commits fraud. I went to Bigelows last night to enjoy some time with my wife. Paid my tab and woke up the next morning with $1700 missing out of my account. I only handed my card to one lady (the bartender). Older black lady with a terrible wig that was in a pony tail and another younger lady. Stealing is a sin. No matter your religion. Ain't too many things worse than a thief. Getting Waffle House (On Panola Rd) on my card when I tipped IN CASH 25% is stupid of you. Buying cheap furniture and tires on my card is even stupidER of you. I used to come to bigelows all the time with my mother, siblings and friends. I've watched this place deteriorate over the years. It used to be a place where the older crowd can come and chill, drink and dance. Now it's a much younger crowd reminiscent of the lounges you see all over Atlanta. Well NOW the police are involved. The fact is I'm going to get my money back. I'm going to be fine. You on the other hand won't be. One of the things I can do in the meantime is blast this business. This spot here! This spot has been around for more than a decade. I'm 33 and I was the youngest person in the establishment. This is an older crowd where everyone knows everyone, however they treated you like family. They were playing mainly blues and old school r&b. The food was hot and fresh and the prices were definitely reasonable. I was nervous to walk in as I was in town for business and not a local. It was late and they said they had chicken wings. One thing I learned about Atlanta was, lots of chicken wings, not a lot of hours of service signs lol.... Like I said was a bit scary to walk into, security patted me down tougher than any air port I've ever been to. I got in an let me tell you! This place was ATL FORREAL!!! Extremely nice and friendly environment! Drinks weren't crazy priced, and were poured well, chicken wings were off the chain and the people watching was top notch. "Hood, but good" Yesterday was my second time visiting Bigelow's and I had a blast! It's not in the most desirable neighborhood and it isn't the most beautifully decorated establishment, but it's a great spot to come to. This place gets crowded and if you're not in by 5:30, you'll probably be standing and will have to park across the street. They have a huge "after work" crowd. It's an older crowd, so the DJ usually plays hits from the 80s, 90s, some old school jams and will throw in a couple of newer hits every now and then. Their menu is limited to a few items including fried fish, fried chicken and wings. The fried fish dinner is heavenly! Omg! It comes out piping hot with 3 pieces of fish, fries, coleslaw and 2 pieces of bread. Also, the bartenders do not skimp on the liquor! This is a pretty cool hole in a wall spot that has been around for ages. It's mostly an older crowd made up of your locals. It doesn't look like much m the outside (or inside for that matter) but do not be deterred. I enjoy it best on a Saturday night! The music is good and the drinks are STRONG (their Long Islands are lethal). Entrance the last Saturday night I went was $5. I didn't have any cash on me so the door woman held my ID while I paid for an entry stub at the bar inside. It's usually pretty packed out by 11pm so parking in the lot can be difficult. I've come to Bigelows for years. Sat at the bar in Jan's section and enjoyed perfect cocktails without fail. Also enjoyed fried wings that are always fried to perfection every time with the exception of the last time I visited. On 12/16/17 I ordered, to go 2,orders of wings. Got home and was very disappointed. They were severely under cooked. I was soooooo disappointed. The following Saturday I returned and thought I should let the establishment know about my experience. The cook, not the normal happy guy, shrugged it off saying "I only cook on the weekends." Well Sir, the 16th was a Saturday. I think that falls in the weekend category. "Talk to the manager." The manager/owner Bigelow was just as bad. He said "how do I know you're telling the truth?" What the What? Who lies about raw chicken a week later. Smh Very poor customer service that has me so very sad. Time to find a new neighborhood bar. I find that establishments that generally have a consistently large crowd have come to the conclusion that good customer service is not needed because they will always have a crowd. Well, let me start of by saying that if you're bourgeoise, overly pretentious, or trying to be seen in a ritzy environment, then this probably is not the place for you. Bigelow's reminds me of a late 1980's to early 1990's juke joint. This is not a bad thing, actually it's VERY GOOD. Bigelow's is a place where you can relax and be yourself, enjoy the lively tunes from a wide selection of DJ's, the drinks are strong and the food is good. The crowd is about what you'd expect in a Decatur spot.. It varies from middle-aged hood, to upbeat urban... They have a different party just about every night, but I'd recommend Tuesday nights, or Friday-Sundays.. Tuesdays is affectionately named "Ladies Night", as it gets PACKED with a wide selection of scantily clad, well-to-do ladies of all socioeconomical standards. If you're looking for classy, trashy, hood, or uppity, you can find it ALL in Bigelow's. Again, if you're stuck up or can't seem to take the edge off, then this probably isn't the place for you. But, if you're the type person who can vibe well in ANY setting, then I definitely say check it out, and see if you can enjoy it. The drinks are Grade A (by this I mean not watered down, and priced well within reason), if you don't mind fighting to get to the one bar they have that usually is crowded with regulars and bar trolls.. I found that the easiest and fastest way to get a drink it so summon one of the waitresses who mill about the crowd. Their attitudes are usually dependent upon how you treat them. I'm a social person with an upbeat attitude, so I tend to get great service, which in turn leads to great tips for the waitresses, so everybody's happy. The food is what you'd come to expect for a club with a kitchen in the rear. It's not fine dining, but more than serves it's purpose, comes out hot, and goes down well... A very small venue with a small dance floor and a busy bar, Bigelows is the stark opposite of most clubs/bars in Atlanta simply because its stripped of being pretentious. The one thing you wont find in Bigelows is "stuck up". The drinks are ridiculously strong at this joint...2 long islands will have you on your azz relatively quickly! The wings are pretty damn good too. I have been coming to this place off an on for almost 10 years and it never changes. It's still that same hole in the wall that I am used to, the food is great and the drinks are never watered down. Karaoke is every Monday with some hard core steppers in between sets that show everyone how its REALLY done! Every 5th Monday they have free buffet and dont charge a cover. It loses a star for me because the parking can be a pain in the ass, the dance floor is not as big as it needs to be, and the waitresses can be a bit "un-responsive". But I still have big fun when I come here, which is why I still do. read more

This place has the most rude unprofessional waitress and bartenders! If youre a new person there they will look past you and only take regulars orders. Very nasty demeanors and bad vibes and energy. U have to literally beg to be waited on its never friendly. Think still talking giving your order as they turn away....... over packed which causes constant disagreements... but i guess they dont want to turn away 5.00 from anyone so they pack people in there knowing theres no room or staff to accommodate..... music is good.... food is bland.... i dont reccomend this place. But to my surprise I enjoyed myself. Its a small place and it gets crowed but the people are super nice the DJ was on point with old and up to date music and the drinks where half price. Sorry I cant seem to remember what day of the week I went. I would definitely return to this place. If you looking to hang with a younger crowd this is not your place. (Unless you go late on Friday or Saturday then admission is $5). The wings are rediculous! A gentleman in the kitchen who I've dubbed "Chicken George" is a genius when it comes to the wings. The drinks are fairly priced and they won't skimp on the alcohol. The DJ on a walker (yes I said a walker) is added entertainment. I love this place so much. What I love about Bigelows is that you don't have to look like Beyonce in order for a guy to buy you a drink, ask you to dance or just say hi. The men love all the women and the women return the love. I don't drink so I can't speak on that. But the music was a good mix of Rhythm and Blues, old/new Hip Hop and Dance tunes.
